The Department of Business Administration was established in 1984 with the objective to impart managerial education. In short period of its existence, the department has made tremendous progress towards achieving its ultimate goal of becoming a centre of excellence in business management education and research in Pakistan. The department has assembled outstanding teaching faculty and developed extensive teaching material for the improvement of education in Pakistan. Presently, the department is offering PhD, MS/MPhil, MBA Marketing and Human Resource, MBA (Information Technology), MBA Banking and Finance, Commonwealth of Executive MBA/MPA and BBA programmes. These programmes contribute significantly to the national goal of development of professionally equipped business executives. The university introduced MBA programme in 1986, MBA-IT in 2001 and MBA Banking & Finance in Spring 2005 semester. These are well taken by a large number of people waiting for an opportunity to upgrade their skills and enhance professional qualifications.

Introduction

The Business Administration Programs of AIOU are designed to achieve the following objectives:

• To prepare professionally trained leaders for public and private sector organizations and to train managers to cater to the needs of complex and changing business environment.
• To inculcate future orientation in the managers which encourages continuous learning and habitual receptiveness to new ways of identifying and dealing with opportunities and problems, in the business world.

Academic Facilities

The students are provided face to face facility after enrolling in BBA,MBA-IT & MBA Banking & Finance. Those who enrolled in MBA (Marketing, Human Resource Management) are provided tutorials which facilitates the students to discuss their academic problems and also take guidance from the tutors. The students of ODL (Open Distance Learning) also provided face to face workshop where the student attends three days workshop for each course and present their assignments at the end of semester, the purpose of the workshop is to enhance the students ability, skill, attitude and knowledge to prepare them for a better future.

• Online Registration at ( https://ncbae.edu.pk/a pplyonline) is COMPULSORY for ALL CANDIDATES seeking admission in NCBA&E. Candidates must attach a printout of the online registration form along with the admission form.
• 4 Passport size pictures.
• Copy of National Identity Card.
• Matric/O level Marks Sheet and Certificate.
• Intermediate, A Level, F.A/F.Sc/ICS/I.com/Marks Sheet and Certificate.
• Bachelors, B.A / BS(CS)/B.COM Marks Sheet and Certificate.
• Masters, M.A/M.SC/MCS/M.COM Marks Sheet and Certificate.
• Students awaiting result should attach their Roll # slip.
• Job experience letter required for MBA-Executive Candidates (Minimum Requirement 3 Years).
• MBA-Executive candidates will have to clear only interview (No Test).
• Those candidates who appear in NTS do not have to appear in our Entry Test (Minimum Requirement 50 Marks).

Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) programs are designed to develop an in-depth understanding of strategic, tactical, and operational challenges, which skilled practitioners are likely to face. Each PGD program spans over a year with 12 courses and a live project. These courses will help bridge the competency gap in Pakistan and enhance professionalism of those involved in the industry. Introduction/Description

Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration equips the students and in-service employees to meet the challenges and avail the opportunities of the corporate world. The main focus of the program is to provide management-cum-computer education to in-service employees and interested students. It strengthens the management and leadership capabilities of students. The program provides balanced coverage of the various aspects of Business and Management that will also allow the diploma holders to meet the challenge of today's technology. Candidates after obtaining diploma can seek admission in Master Degree Programs.

Program Objectives

• To provide the students a basic knowhow of the contemporary businesses
• To enable the students face the challenges of modern markets

Admission Eligibility Criteria

Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university/ institute in any discipline with at least 45% marks or CGPA 2.00 out of 4.

However, candidates having less than 45% marks will be eligible for admission after successful completion of “ Zero  Semester ”.

Course Exemption

Course(s) exemption is not allowed.

It is a one-year duration program that comprises two semesters. Each semester has 18 weeks duration.

Assessment of Study Progress

The students’ study progress evaluation mechanism is based on continuous assessment throughout the semester by giving assignments, on-line quizzes, Graded Discussion Boards (GDBs), mid-term and final term exams. The mid-term and final term exams are conducted at VU’s designated centers and usually count for 80 to 85% of the total marks for a course.

Award of Degree

To be eligible for the award of Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration, students are required to complete course work program (minimum two semesters) of at least 36 credit hours course work with minimum CGPA 2.00 out of 4.

• The courses may be revised time to time as a result of continuous review to bring them at par with courses from being taught at top-class foreign universities. While reviewing the courses, needs of local industry and job market are also given full consideration.
