Showcase Creative created this eye-popping design for Lewis & Arnold that makes great use of the Spot UV technique, which causes the company’s name, logo, and 'blueprint' to have a high-impact, glossy sheen that jumps out and grabs you.

Presentation Folder Templates: Free Dielines, Mockups, and Designs

For those who lack graphic design experience, the word “template” has become something of a dirty word. It calls to mind cheap cookie-cutter designs stuffed with clip art. But there’s more than one type of template, and many of them are much more than just an easy shortcut; they’re absolutely vital to the print design process.

Any time you design presentation folders , you’re eventually going to need a template at some point—whether you’re forming your initial idea and layout, creating the design itself, or presenting a finished design mockup to your client.

Finding the right template for your project can be challenging. There are lots of them out there, and not all of them are free; you might end up paying for a template only to realize that it’s completely wrong for your pocket folder concept. Mockup Templates

Raw design files aren’t very helpful when you present your work to a client, especially for print projects that need to be folded into shape, such as two pocket folders . Parts of the folder will appear upside-down, which will confuse those who are less familiar with how dielines work. In situations like this, mockup templates are a lifesaver. They allow you to quickly convert your design files into fully realized mockups, so your design will look the way it will when it’s actually printed and folded.

These mockups can be further customized with a background of your choice, so your presentation folders can be set against a wooden table, a grassy field, or another surface or environment.

Die Cut Templates

Even if you never make use of any other type of template when crafting a presentation folder design, you’re not going to get very far without a die cut template. Also known as “dieline” templates, these function as the canvas upon which you will construct your actual design. Without an appropriate die cut template, a printer will be unable to print your work.

In situations where you don’t actually need your design printed (such as when you don’t have a client and are just experimenting with creating folders), it’s still worth it to use a die cut template. That way, you’ll always have the option to print it later if the need arises. Plus, this will make it easier to apply your design to a mockup template and incorporate it into your portfolio.

4-Color Process Letter Size Two Pocket Folder

Specifically designed for a folder printed with four-color process, this template is a great choice for colorful, cost-effective designs.

STOCK OPTION 12PT C2s VS 14PT C2s:

12pt C2s - 12pt refers to the stock's thickness and is the industry standard for presentation folders. We only offer C2s! C2s indicates that it is coated 2 sides (We do not offer C1s as it a step down in density and durability). Our 12pt C2s is a premium stock and is a great choice for presentation folders!

14pt C2s - When you need a thicker option with even more durability, then 14pt C2s is the perfect choice. It has the same premium properties as our 12pt but it's even thicker.

Artwork setup + Options Information

Use one the templates provided (downloadable from the Presentation Folder tab) to setup your artwork to the folder style.

Please ensure that you upload print ready PDFs. A print ready PDF needs to be: • High resolution (300dpi images) • CMYK colours, • 3mm of bleed on all sides, • Trim marks supplied

If you are unable to supply as a print ready PDF, we may be able to use other files and fix any that are not print ready.

We have Standard size locking tab folders, oversized folders and glued folders to choose from.

Downloadable templates are also available in the 'Presentation Folders' tab, click on the style you would like to download. Simply use this in InDesign (or your editing software) to create your folder.

• Artboard - Satin card Available thickness online - 350gsm (thick brochures)

You can either print on the outside of the folders and flaps only (Front, back and the flaps showing inside), or you can also print on the inside of the folders also. Choose the option that best suites you.

Lamination is a thin clear plastic coating on top of the print. This helps to both protect the print, as well as enhance the finish. Gloss or Matt lamination is available with Gloss being a high gloss finish and the Matt being a silky matte finish.

For quantities under 250x, these are printed digitally so any printed side must be laminated to protect the ink during the cutting process.

For digitally printed folders, you can choose to add a raised UV embellishment (scodix). This is a high gloss clear raised polymer that you can add on top of a logo, text or pattern. Scodix is only available with a Velvet lamination.

A variety of standard quantity options are available online, but if you need a quantity not listed, please get in touch for a custom quote.

Frequently Asked Questions

gsm means grams per square metre. The lower the gsm, the thinner the paper/card stock and the higher the gsm, the thicker the paper/card stock. A typical standard paper you would use in your home or office printer would be 80-90gsm. A letter head or with compliments slip are generally 100gsm. Standard brochures, flyers or handouts are typically 150-200gsm. Premium flyers, brochures, invitations and postcards are between 200-300gsm. Business cards start at 300gsm to 350gsm and for premium cards go from 400 to 600gsm for specialty cards. Posters range from 150gsm to 220gsm in general depending on the size and purpose. If you are unsure what gsm is best for you and your project, we are happy to help or recommend the most suitable for you.

Templates are downloadable PDF files that you can use to setup your artwork to fit our die cut presentation folders, envelope sizes etc. For more information, see 'How do i use the templates' question below.

Ready made Templates can be found in the Product Information Page and the Presentation Folders product page. Once you find a template that meets your requirements, click on the blue button to download the PDF template file. Import the PDF file as a layer into your design program to design your artwork with.

Print ready PDFs is a term used to describe how the file is setup and saved.

To achieve best print results, your print file must contain bleed, trim marks, high resolution images, fonts converted to outlines or embedded and transparencies set as required.

Delivery times will depend on product type, quantity and the complexity of the order (for eg: finishing or special print effects). 

For simple product printing (for eg: Standard business cards), you can expect delivery in 2-3 business day. For complex and labour intense products (for eg: foiling, boolets, speciality finishing), we estimate delivery between 5-7 business days.  Products that require Foils can take up to 7-10 business days for delivery.

Is there any way you could produce your kraft stock in a sheet size of 8-7/8 x 22-1/8? I would need this scored in the middle if possible. If possible I would like to get pricing with and without for corner slits on one end.
