How to Report Spam or Abusive Content on Facebook

If you see a post or profile on Facebook sharing spam or abusive content, here's what you need to know about reporting it...

Facebook is the most popular social media platform in the world. And while much of the content on Facebook is safe, there may be a time when a Facebook connection steps over the line and posts spam or something inappropriate.

If you come across this type of content, here's all you need to know about how to report a post or profile...

Why Would Someone Report a Post on Facebook?

Facebook, like Twitter, prides itself on being an open platform for freedom of speech. However, there are still topics and content that are off-limits.

There are multiple violations of Facebook's Community Standards that can get a user in hot water.

These include:

  • Impersonation.
  • Posts that are made to threaten, exclude, or intimidate someone else.
  • The non-consensual posting of private and identifying information of other people (i.e. doxxing).
  • Violent posts and terrorist threats.
  • Organized hate.
  • Human trafficking.
  • Organized violence or criminal activity.
  • The incitement of criminal activity.
  • The sale of controlled goods.
  • Posts glorifying self-harm.
  • Sexual exploitation.

If you see a post violating any of these rules, it's wise to report it. You may assume that it has been reported already but it's possible that it hasn't. This way, the post is more likely to reach the attention of Facebook's moderators.

If you use Twitter and are curious about its rules of conduct and how to report a post or account, check out this article about how to report a post or account on Twitter .

How to Report a Facebook Post

If you see a post that violates Facebook's Community Standards, you can report it quickly and easily.

This would be an appropriate action if you see the post in a Facebook group or on a Page, or if the person who has shared the offending post usually follows the rules and the rest of their profile follows the Community Standards.

To report a Facebook post or picture:

  • Open the post or photo you want to report.
  • Select the three dots in the upper right corner.
  • Tap on the Find Support or Report Photo/Post option.
  • Continue through the next two prompts, selecting the reasons why you are reporting the Facebook post or photo.

This will submit a report to Facebook, whose moderation teams will evaluate the post.

How to Report a Facebook Profile

Reporting a Facebook profile for inappropriate content is the best course of action if you notice this person is not who they say they are or the account is constantly sharing spam or abusive content.

Before reporting the profile, make sure you analyze the situation to ensure that you're making the right decision.

To report a profile on Facebook:

  • Go to the three dots to the right of the Message button and phone icon.
  • Select Find Support or Report Profile .
  • Continue through the next two prompts, selecting the reasons why you are reporting the Facebook profile.

After you report the profile, you will not receive an automatic response. The Facebook team could take several days to analyze the profile and send you a decision on your report.

What Happens When You Report Facebook Content?

If you report a post or profile on Facebook and the post is removed or the profile is suspended, your personal information will be kept confidential. The person who you reported to Facebook will not know it was you.

When Facebook reviews your report, it will decide if the post or profile goes against its Community Standards. It will only take action if the person has broken a rule.

Keep in mind that you may see something you don't like on Facebook, but this doesn't mean that it has violated Facebook's rules.

Alternatives to Reporting a Facebook Profile

When you see something you don't like on Facebook, reporting the profile or post isn't your only option. Facebook has alternatives to reporting content such as unfollowing, muting, and even blocking a profile. This way you only have to see what—or who you want on Facebook.

Understanding the Facebook Pages Report

Your Facebook Pages Report has a number of metric graphs and data for the dates you’ve selected.

Facebook Performance Summary

What this section shows you: A general overview of of impressions, engagement and post link clicks for your page during your selected period of time.

Why it’s important: It gives you a high level view of your page performance. This is great for a quick view of your page’s engagement during a specific month, quarter or any other length of time.

Facebook Audience Growth

What this section shows you: How many paid and organic likes your page has received over a selected period of time.

Why it’s important: It’s crucial to know whether or not your audience is growing or shrinking. The Net Page Likes metric is where you’ll really want to focus. Getting 100 new followers isn’t as valuable if you had 50 unlikes over the same period of time. When your number of unlikes outpaces your new likes, it’s a sign your fans aren’t engaged. Follow these tips to improve Facebook engagement and keep your followers around.

Facebook Publishing Behavior

What this section shows you: How many times you publish per day on Facebook, as well as the type of content you share.

Why it’s important: With the Facebook algorithm slashing organic reach for brands, you constantly have to test different publishing cadences to get as much exposure as possible. With this report, you can see how often you currently publish each day. To get the most from this data, compare it against your impressions and engagement data to see if there’s a correlation between publishing behavior and engagement.

Facebook Top Posts

What this section shows you: Your top three performing Facebook posts.

Why it’s important: Once you know your most engaging posts, you can analyze why they worked. It could be the copy, your image or maybe the time you posted. Find why the content resonated then try to replicate it with future posts.

Facebook Impressions

What this section shows you: The number of impressions your content has received on Facebook as well as the users reached. The users reached metric includes the number of users that saw any content associated with your Page via the News Feed, ticker or visits to your Page.

Impressions are broken down into two sections:

  • Paid impressions: The number of impressions of Sponsored Stories or Ads pointing to your page.
  • Organic impressions: The number of times any organic content associated with your Page was seen in News Feed, ticker or on visits to your Page.

Why it’s important: If you dedicate time and resources into creating and sharing content on Facebook, you probably want to get it in front of as many people as possible. This report helps you visualize how many people you’re reaching. If you see negative trends, look into what the potential problem could be. If you see a sudden spike, check the content you shared that day to understand what went well.

Facebook Video Performance

What this section shows you:  How well your video content performs on Facebook. You can see how many people watch your full videos, paid vs. organic views and more. Note, this is only available if your brand publishes videos.

Why it’s important: Facebook video is more prevalent than ever. In fact,  45% of people watch more than an hour of Facebook or YouTube videos a week. So needless to say, it’s well worth it to invest in Facebook videos. But just sharing a video doesn’t guarantee success. You need to measure how your videos actually perform so you can optimize your strategy for success.

Facebook Engagement

What this section shows you: How much engagement your Facebook posts receive each day broken down by reactions, comments and shares.

Why it’s important: Engagement is one of the most important metrics for your Facebook efforts and a key factor in Facebook’s ranking algorithm. If you want your posts to get more organic visibility, you need people to engage with your posts. Similar to what we mentioned about impressions, look for dips or spikes in your engagement. Then you can look deeper into what happened on those specific days.

Facebook competitors report

Understanding the Facebook Competitors Report

There are a few different sections within this report that’ll give you insights into what you competitors are doing, and how much success they’re seeing from their efforts.

Competitors Overview

The first thing you’ll see is an overview of your audience compared to your competitors. It shows which competitor has the most fans, as well as the average number of fans across all your competitors. Now you can see how your audience size stacks up against the competition.

Audience Growth

Knowing the size of your audience is nice, but it’s also important to understand how quickly (or slowly) your audience grows. With the Facebook Competitors report, you can see how your audience growth compares to other brands.

Are they growing faster than you? Did one of them get a sudden spike in fans over the weekend? How many new fans do other brands get every day? The Audience Growth by Profile section of the report will help you answer these types of questions so you can better judge whether or not your own audience is growing at a reasonable rate.

Message Volume

One of the most common questions brands have is “how often should I post on Facebook?”

Typically you end up blindly guessing how many times you should post each day, or you might not have a posting cadence at all. The Message Volumes section of this Facebook report will help shed some light on your posting schedule. You’ll see how many times your competitors post per day, and you can toggle this report section to see the number of comments and public stories each page receives.

Again, this is extremely valuable for benchmarking your data. But additionally, it’ll give you an idea of whether or not your posting frequency is too high or low. For instance, if you publish once a day on average, but your competitors tend to publish at least three times per day and have more engagement, it could be a sign you need to share more content to compete.

Stats by Page

This section of the Facebook Competitors report gives you a breakdown of publishing and engagement metrics for you and your selected competitors. One area in particular that’s interesting is the Post Breakdown column. Do your competitors primarily publish videos, photos or standard text posts? Look for correlations between the type of content they share and their engagement.

You can also click the down arrow on each row to expand the data for any of your competitors and see their top three posts over a selected time period.

What is Facebook URL?

Before we begin to answer the “How” part of Facebook URL, let us first find out more about what Facebook URL is.

Your Facebook URL is simply the name of your page placed right after the web address of Facebook . This means that if your page is named – xyz then your Facebook URL would look like – https://www.facebook.com/xyz.

While the URL is applicable to personal accounts and Facebook pages, it can be a useful and convenient way to reach a Facebook page. Some also call Facebook URLs vanity URLs.

Each URL is based on the username of your account or page. It directly takes the name of your account. This is why we call it customized, as each URL is unique.

Facebook URL Rules

The key to making your URL is to be mindful of the username you set for your account or page. Since each URL is required to be unique, it is obvious that the username should be unique as well.

This is why Facebook has a few specifications that must be followed while creating a typical username. We have listed them below for you:

  • Only a single username is allowed for a particular page or personal account.
  • Since usernames should be unique, you cannot obtain the username of any other account on Facebook.
  • Usernames should only have alphabets from A to Z, numeric characters from 0 to 9, or a period.
  • You cannot use terms like .com or .net in your username.
  • The capitalization of letters and periods is not considered in the same username.
  • There must be at least 5 characters in a username.
  • The username of your page or personal account must comply with Facebook terms.
  • Only an admin can create and change the username.

These are the basic rules for constructing username and, in turn, URL. You will have to follow these, and in case you do not, Facebook would show an error and not accept the username until it complies with all the rules.

Change Your URL through Desktop

So, now that you have a general idea of what Facebook URL is, we can go ahead and find out how to change it when you want to.

While you can change your Facebook URL via phone and desktop, let us first understand how to do this via desktop.

Step 1: Head Over to Facebook

The first step to changing your page or account URL is to head over to the official website of Facebook. For this, you can type the word “Facebook” in your browser or use the link https://www.facebook.com/ in your browser address bar.

Once the Facebook page opens up, you will come across the screen asking you for a login or a sign-up by creating a new account.

Facebook-page-opens-up

If you already have a Facebook account, you can simply write your e-mail address or phone number and type in your password to Log in.

If you do not have an account, click on “Create New Account” to make a new one.

Step 2: Go to Settings

Once you open your account, you have to navigate the settings tab. For this, go to the top right corner of the page and click on the downward-facing arrow.

A dropdown box will open; from within this box, you can see the option of “Settings & Privacy” click on this option.

Go-to-Settings

The above tab will open; from within this tab, select “Settings.”

Step 3: Go to Edit in Username

As you click on “Settings” a new window will open. Here, you will find your username, name, contact, etc. listed under the “General Account Settings.”

general-account-settings

From here, you can edit your username by clicking on edit in front of Username. Once you click on edit, a box will open. Within this, you can change the username, and Facebook would notify you if your typed username is available or not.

You can only set the username that is available.

Change Your URL through Phone

You can also use your phone to change the Facebook URL of your page or personal account. For this, follow the below-given steps:

Step 1: Download and Open Facebook Messenger App

As the first step, you need to have the Facebook Messenger App on your phone. If you do not have it, simply download it from your play store.

But, if you do, then open your app. While Facebook also has the Facebook Mobile App, you cannot use it to change your URL. Only Facebook Messenger App can be used.

Once you open the app, Login or Sign-up with your Facebook page or personal account. For the same, type in your e-mail address or phone number used to create the account and type your password.

In case you cannot find the Messenger App, you can tap on the lightning bubble on the Facebook Mobile App in the top right corner.

Facebook-Mobile-App

Step 2: Go to Your Profile Icon

Once you have opened the messenger, tap on the profile icon. If your app opens in a different window, press the “back” button to head back to see the profile icon.

The profile icon would typically have your profile photo on it. Once you click on it, a window will open.

Your-Profile-Icon

Over here, you can see the tab with the word “Username” written on it. This tab is under the “Profile” section.

Step 3: Click on Username and Edit it

As you will click on the tab “Username”, a pop-up will open below. Here you will have the option to either edit your username or copy the link.

Press on edit to change your username.

Changing your username and, through that, your URL is a very easy task.

Facebook Page URL Best Practices

While Facebook has rules and guidelines laid out for account URL, some best practices can help you select the best URL.

  • We urge you to select a username that you would be satisfied with. This is because you might not be able to change it for a long time, as finding a username that is available is a challenge.
  • The shorter your username is, the better it would be. Short usernames are easy to memorize. In case someone is trying to reach your page and cannot remember your URL-based username because it is too long, you may lose a potential follower.
  • Make sure your username is similar to your actual page name. This also ensures easy discoverability and better representation of your page and brand.
  • Since capitalization and periods do not add up to any change in the username, trying to claim someone’s username by just adding or removing some periods and capitalizing alphabets would not help the cause.
  • Yet, using periods in your username might make it more SEO-friendly.
  • If you do not use your page or profile for a prolonged period of time, your username will become available to others for use.

Choose your username wisely. At times, unpublished page usernames are also claimed already, and you cannot use them.

What to Know Before You Change Your URL?

If your Facebook URL is too long and you have decided to change it for good. While you are free to change it, the URL you previously had would be of no use anymore.

Once you change your Facebook URL, your username will not change, nor the title that appears on your page. But since the prior link will not work, your discoverability can be hampered in the initial phase after the change.

If someone tries to search for your page using the old URL, a message saying “Sorry, this page isn’t available” will show up. This message might make your followers think that the page has shut down.

There might be a possibility that Facebook only allows you to change this URL once. This used to happen before, but you never know when this would be implemented again. So, why take a chance?

If your page has been around for quite some time and has been actively promoting it, your URL must be actively posted in multiple places. Remember that once your URL is changed, those links will become obsolete right away. Not just that, but if someone searches your page using the page name alone, there might be various pages that may show up in the search results.

It is strongly suggested that you change your URL to what you want at the very inception of your page.

But if you end up changing your URL when your page URL is in multiple places, simply try to figure out the places where your URL might be located. For this, check the places where your URL link is attached so that you can replace it from there once the change is made.

After all, you do not want to send your visitor to a dead page. Let us try to understand this using a timeline:

  • If you have printed materials hosting your page URL, change them.
  • Tell people on your page before changing the Facebook URL, and give them a reason for the change.
  • Go to the places where you have guest-posted and request a URL change.
  • Post something engaging right after the URL change.
  • Change your page name to match the new URL.

Following all these steps before you finally change your username might be a good means to ensure your discoverability does not suffer.

Ready for the Change?

You may find your desired username available for use in most ideal situations but there can be situation when your desired user name is already taken. In such a situation, look for other unique options for the username.

When it comes to Facebook URLs, you also need to be aware of hackers who might have infringed your privacy and hacked your account.

In such a case, you need to secure your account by resetting your password, and once your account is secure try to re-change your username to what it was before or something new altogether!

Make sure you stay fresh with your content as a changed URL might require you to attract a new audience while staying good enough for the ones already there. For this, post content regularly with the help of SocialPilot’s Social Media Calendar.

Frequently Asked Questions

🌟 Can Google change my Facebook page URL?

Typically, when you Google the name of your page, the old URL would appear. That URL would redirect to the broken page link. You cannot get your new URL across unless Google re-crawls through your page to catch it on its own.

🌟 Can I make the process of updating a new Facebook URL on Google faster?

The best practice is to stay relevant to increase your pace of getting new Facebook URLs recognized by Google. Get rid of outdated content and try to stay fresh by posting engaging stuff on a regular basis.

🌟 Why can’t I change my Facebook URL even after following all the steps?

You might be making a mistake. Go back to your approach and troubleshoot any mistakes. Some possible issues might be:

  • You are logged into an account without full admin rights.
  • You recently changed your URL.
  • Your page has been posting spam content.
  • You have been inactive for far too long.

If you are still not able to change your username, report the problem to Facebook and see if something can be done.

🌟 Can I change the URL after merging two accounts?

Yes, you can first merge two accounts. There is a catch here too. You cannot merge any two pages. The pages must be on the same topic. They should represent the same thing. They should have similar names and the same admin. After the merger, you can change the URL of the new page formed by following the same set of steps.

🌟 Can someone else, other than the admin, change the Facebook URL to my page?

No, only the admin can change this. But you can always make another person admin to your page. For this, the person needs to be your friend or should have liked your page.

Craft marketing dashboards with ChatGPT

ChatGPT in Marketing: Prompts to Build Dashboards in Minutes

Unlock ChatGPT's potential in building marketing dashboards with this comprehensive guide. 5 steps to build your next Facebook Ads Performance Report.

Facebook Ads Performance Report

One of the most essential Facebook Ads report templates is a Facebook Ads performance dashboard that provides a high-level overview of your campaigns.

The Facebook Ads Performance Report tracks critical metrics such as impressions, reach, engagement rate, click-through rates, cost-per-click, conversion rate, cost per conversion, and return on ad spend. Each of these metrics holds the key to a different aspect of campaign performance, equipping companies with the data necessary to pinpoint both successes and potential areas for improvement.

Facebook Ads Performance Report Use Cases

Analyzing the dashboard involves assessing each of these metrics within the context of overall business objectives. For instance, a low click-through rate might prompt a reassessment of ad creative or target audience, while a high cost per conversion could lead to refining ad placement or bidding strategies.

The report also helps delve into granular details like a demographic breakdown of engagement, ad frequency, and even the positive and negative feedback received. This allows for fine-tuning of campaign parameters for better alignment with the audience's preferences and behavior.

The comparative feature of the report, which enables performance benchmarking against historical data, also aids in strategic decision-making. Recognizing trends over time assists in shaping an adaptive marketing strategy and responding to changing audience behavior and market dynamics.

Additionally, you can elaborate on the initial Facebook Ads reporting template and merge Facebook Ads data with data from other advertising channels, such as Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads, and more. This way, you get a comprehensive picture of your paid ads performance that enables you to optimize campaigns better and allocate marketing dollars more reasonably.

Facebook Ads ROI Dashboard

The dashboard tracks and displays pivotal metrics such as Return on Ad Spend (ROAS), Cost Per Action (CPA), and the total revenue generated by each ad campaign. By juxtaposing these metrics, it offers a clear picture of the profit generated versus the total ad spend, providing a straightforward measurement of the return on investment (ROI).

Further refining its functionality, the dashboard allows segmentation of ROI data by different parameters, such as individual ad sets, specific campaigns, or even particular ad creatives. This granularity allows marketers to pinpoint precisely which elements of their Facebook Ads strategy are driving the highest returns.

To assist with future planning, the dashboard can also present data across various timeframes. This allows for trend identification, comparative analysis of different periods, and forecasting of future ROI based on past performance.

The ability to determine the financial efficiency of different campaigns supports data-driven budget allocation, ensuring resources are directed towards the most lucrative strategies.

Facebook Ads Creatives Report Template

The Facebook Ads Creatives Report is a strategic tool designed to gauge the impact of the creative elements within your ad campaigns. A firm understanding of which creatives yield the highest performance is instrumental in driving engagement, conversions, and profitability.

The report provides an in-depth analysis of diverse ad components including visuals, headlines, and descriptions. It measures performance based on key metrics such as click-through rate (CTR), engagement rate, conversion rate, and more, helping businesses determine which creative elements resonate best with their audience.

By dissecting data by ad types, campaign objectives, or target demographics, this Facebook Ads reporting template offers a nuanced understanding of the specific creative strategies that deliver optimal results within different contexts.

Another powerful feature is the ability to track the performance of creatives over different time periods. This temporal analysis helps identify trends, compare performance during specific marketing periods, and predict future ad performance

UTM Quality Tracker for Facebook Ads

Tracking the performance of Facebook ad campaigns in isolation is not enough. UTM parameters, when appended to the URLs of ads, facilitate granular tracking of source, medium, and campaign name, among other variables. These insights allow businesses to trace back each website visit, conversion, or other key actions to its originating ad.

UTM quality is a common problem for marketers running paid ads across different channels. With different accounts, campaigns, or even marketing agencies that run your ads, it’s almost impossible to maintain a consistent UTM naming convention across all paid activities.

UTM Quality Tracker for Facebook Ads empowers businesses to maintain a high degree of accuracy and consistency in their attribution data, which is fundamental for optimizing marketing efforts and maximizing Facebook Ads ROI.

Improvado’s UTM Quality Tracker helps to monitor and validate the UTM parameters used in Facebook ad campaigns, ensuring they adhere to a predefined naming convention and structure. The dashboard shows the share of the ad spend that goes unattributed to any conversions due to UTM tags missing in the campaign.

For instance, an incorrectly set UTM parameter might misattribute traffic or conversions, leading to skewed performance data. With UTM Quality Tracker, such errors can be identified and rectified promptly, preserving the integrity of campaign data. The tool further allows for consistency checks across all campaigns, reducing the risk of misinterpretations and promoting clearer insights.

Facebook Ads Conversion Funnel Dashboard

The Facebook Ads conversion funnel dashboard enables marketers to gain a nuanced understanding of their conversion journey.

The Conversion Funnel Dashboard captures a variety of crucial performance metrics at each stage of the customer journey — from awareness and interest to desire and action. Metrics such as click-through rates (CTR), conversion rates, and average cost per action (CPA) offer an in-depth view of the performance and effectiveness of Facebook advertising initiatives.

‍ Facebook Ads Conversion Funnel Dashboard Use Cases

By highlighting bottlenecks at each stage of the funnel, the dashboard enables marketers to make strategic adjustments to their Facebook Ads campaigns.

For example, a significant drop in engagement between the interest and desire stages might suggest the need for more compelling content or a more enticing call to action.

One of the primary advantages of the dashboard is its ability to pinpoint bottlenecks or points in the funnel where potential customers drop off. By identifying these sticking points, marketers can devise targeted strategies to reduce drop-off rates, such as reworking ad copy, tweaking design elements, or reassessing audience targeting parameters.

Leveraging the granular data provided by the dashboard, marketing teams can conduct detailed A/B tests to determine which variables yield the best outcomes at each stage of the funnel. This could involve testing different ad formats, creatives, targeting options, or even landing pages.

Facebook Ads Summary Dashboard

The Facebook Ads reporting template by 5I Ecom provides you with a campaign summary and includes all the essential metrics you need to understand the performance of each campaign. Some of the unique features of this dashboard are clicks by device and the chart showing clicks generated by each campaign over time.

Additionally, the report template shows Instagram Ads performance. So, you can analyze the performance on different advertising channels, understand your audience’s platform of choice, and advertise more effectively.

Facebook Ads Audience Insights Report

This comprehensive report unveils critical information about your audience's demographics, interests, behaviors, and more. Data such as age distribution, gender split, geographical location, and predominant interests, among others, can be extracted and scrutinized.

The Audience Insights Report enables segmentation based on specific campaigns, ad sets, or even individual ads, allowing for a comprehensive understanding of the distinct audience segments each marketing effort is reaching.

Leveraging this report, marketers are able to track changes in audience characteristics over different time frames. This empowers marketers to identify emerging trends, compare audience profiles across different periods, and anticipate shifts in audience behavior.

Facebook Ads KPI Dashboard

A Facebook Ads KPI dashboard provides a holistic perspective on the performance of various components of a Facebook ad campaign.

This Facebook Ads report template includes:

  • Ad Performance Metrics: CTR for all ad placements, conversion rate for all ads, and engagement metrics as necessary.
  • Campaign Performance Metrics: Number of impressions, reach, engagement rate, and so on.
  • Conversion and sales metrics: Depending on your objectives, you may track conversions, conversion value, cost per conversion, etc.
  • Real-time alerts: Alerts for significant drops in engagement and conversions, alerts for issues with ad performance.

Immediate access to granular, up-to-date insights equips marketing teams with the data needed to make informed and timely decisions, address issues impacting Facebook Ads campaign performance, and optimize overall customer experience and engagement.

Benefits of a Facebook Ads KPI dashboard:

  • Quick and easy access to all relevant KPIs in one place.
  • Real-time monitoring of the marketing budget and overall ROI of Facebook Ads campaigns.
  • Time saved on data collection and analysis processes automation.
  • Understanding of the impact of Facebook ads on customer transactions and CLV.

This Facebook Ads report template allows you to dig into different dimensions, ranging from campaigns to creatives. The breakdown by ad spend, registrations, and purchases across campaigns and ad sets help you understand which messages and creatives are working and which aren’t.

The Facebook Ads performance report shows which demographic groups are more likely to interact with your ads and purchase your product. The final curve chart is a summary showing you the interest group that makes the most purchases.

Tableau Digital Marketing Facebook Ads Report Template

Tableau’s Facebook Ads digital marketing report template is a comprehensive dashboard displaying trends and the impact of campaigns on brand awareness, engagement, and conversions.

The 'Executive Summary' tab presents an aggregated view of all essential metrics sourced from your Facebook Ads campaigns. Metrics that can be closely monitored include impressions, reach, clicks, cost-per-click (CPC), cost-per-action (CPA), cost-per-lead (CPL), and generated revenue, among others.

The 'Awareness' tab further offers an in-depth perspective, detailing the number of impressions generated per campaign, the total audience reached, total cost, cost-per-thousand-impressions (CPM), and the cost per individual reached. This Facebook Ads report template provides options to tailor the analysis according to the campaigns of interest, historical data depth, and comparison periods.

Facebook Ads Leads Breakdown Dashboard Template

Facebook Ads Leads Breakdown Dashboard provides the necessary data to dissect leads, optimizing strategies to maximize lead conversion and ensure effective use of the advertising budget.

The dashboard offers a panoramic view of leads generated from Facebook Ad campaigns. Core metrics such as lead volume, cost per lead, lead conversion rate, and lead source can be closely monitored. Each metric provides a different dimension to the lead analysis, enabling companies to identify successful strategies and areas that need refinement.

Facebook Ads Leads Breakdown Use Cases

an unusually high cost per lead may signal the need to audit current targeting strategies. This might involve reassessing audience segments, refining geographical targeting, or redesigning ad creatives for enhanced appeal.

Similarly, analyzing the origins of the most high-paying leads can allow marketers to reallocate their budget more effectively, directing investment toward the platforms or audience segments that yield the highest return.

Digging deeper, the dashboard delivers granular insights into lead demographics, behaviors, and engagement patterns. This in-depth understanding of a potential customer base allows marketers to create more personalized, resonant marketing strategies that lead to higher engagement and increased conversions.

The Value of Custom Facebook Ads Dashboards Over Report Templates

Facebook Ads reporting templates offer a great starting point for analyzing marketing campaigns. They come pre-packaged with a set of commonly used metrics and KPIs, often based on standard industry practices, saving time and effort.

However, when it comes to deriving deeper, more nuanced insights that align with a company's specific goals and processes, custom reports prove to be more effective:

  • Custom reports are tailored to a company's unique requirements and objectives.
  • They can focus on specific metrics that are critical to the company's success and provide a more precise view of performance against set goals.
  • The layout and visual presentation of custom reports can be designed to facilitate interpretation and decision-making within the unique context of a company. The information flow, hierarchy of metrics, and even color schemes can be adjusted to best fit the company's needs, making the data more accessible and understandable for the team.

Custom reports also offer the advantage of scalability. As the company grows, the metrics that matter may change, new data sources may emerge, and the level of complexity may increase. A custom report can adapt to these changes and remain a useful tool, while a template might become restrictive or irrelevant.

In addition, custom reports can be integrated with various data sources the company might be using. This means not just Facebook Ads data, but also data from other ad platforms, CRM systems, web analytics, and more. This results in a more comprehensive view of the marketing efforts, enabling holistic performance analysis and strategic planning.

How Scammers On Facebook Are Tricking People Into Investing In Bogus Schemes: Report

Scammers are increasingly using social media to steal from their unsuspecting victims. While phishing scams , identity theft financial fraud schemes spread like wildfire on social media, the problem of fake news and misinformation has been particularly difficult to deal with. Now, a new misinformation campaign on Meta-owned Facebook is trying to fool people into investing in bogus cryptocurrency schemes, the BBC has found.

According to the BBC's technology reporter, Jane Wakefield, fake news articles in the organization’s template are being published on Facebook under the names of their authors. Fraudsters are trying to get people to click through to the full article, hoping that they will be lured into the investment scheme being promoted on the page.

Wakefield launched an investigation into the matter after coming across fake articles published under her name. In her report, she mentions the case of a retiree from Buckinghamshire, UK, who lost £250 (approximately $312) to a fake advert on Instagram, which is also owned by Meta.

The victim clicked on a fake ITV article in which presenter Robert Peston (a scammer pretending it was him), promoted an investment opportunity that he had come across. The victim, being a fan of Peston and the ITV brand trusted the ad and decided to invest.

Apart from paying the money, the victim also sent pictures of her passport, and both sides of her credit card to the scammers, after which she started getting phone calls from people with American accents, telling her that the money was growing.

The victim became suspicious when the callers started asking her about her income and savings, and about future investments. Upon contacting their bank, the victim was able to get the money back, but the scammers continued to call her.

How Do Such Fake Adverts Get on Facebook?

For her report , Wakefield contacted Tony Gee, a senior consultant at cybersecurity firm Penn Test Partners who found out that one of the scam pages was most likely a paid-for Facebook advert. Gee observed that the URL had a unique value that Facebook adds to allow it to track outbound clicks, which indicates that it may be an advertisement.

When Wakefield brought this to the attention of Meta, she was told that the ads had been removed. Upon investigating further, the reporter found out how these ads were posted. Prof Alan Woodward, a computer scientist at the University of Surrey, told BBC that criminals use tools that quickly redirect users to another web page.

The link goes through to a harmless page, to get approval from Facebook, and then the fraudsters put on a redirect that instantly takes people somewhere else, possibly a con page. Prof Woodward adds that the fraudsters can easily and quickly change the destination of the redirect as needed.

This type of fraud is called "cloaking", whereby malicious adverts are able to get past a social media firm's review stage by cloaking their intentions with a harmless page.  However, the BBC report also mentions that Meta has learned about this technique and is improving its automated detection systems.

Meanwhile, Meta has put out some guidelines for users to stay safe.

Here are Meta’s Safety Guidelines For Protection Against Fake Articles

Beware of Catchy Headlines

As per Meta’s blog, false news stories typically have catchy headlines making shocking claims. Thus, if users come across articles with headlines that are too good to be true, they probably are, Meta says.

Look at the URL Closely

A fake article may contain an altered link that mimics the URLs of authentic news websites. They make small changes to the link which typically go unnoticed, and readers can catch them by comparing the links with authentic sources.

Perform Due Diligence

Meta recommends verifying information with authentic sources, and websites. In case a story comes from an unfamiliar organization, it may be best to not trust it.

Look for Formatting Mistakes

Several fake news sites may contain misspellings or awkward layouts which is a giveaway for readers. Meta recommends readers to look for such signs and stray clear of those articles.

Look for Manipulated Images

False news stories often carry manipulated images or videos of celebrities or reputed individuals to gain credibility. Sometimes even authentic photos are also used but taken out of context. Readers can do a reverse image search to where the source of it.

Look at the Dates and Crosscheck

False news stories come from timelines that make no sense, or event dates that have been altered. Thus, if no other news source is reporting the same story, it may be a fake article.

A Life Overtaken by Conspiracy Theories Explodes in Flames as the Public Looks On

Friends of Max Azzarello, who set himself on fire outside Donald J. Trump’s trial, said he was a caring person whose paranoia had led him down a dark path.

Leaflets are scattered on the ground or fluttering in the air on a plaza that it partially closed off with metal barriers and yellow caution tape.

By Michael Wilson ,  Tracey Tully and Jan Ransom

The journey that ended with a man setting himself on fire on Friday outside the Manhattan courthouse where Donald J. Trump was being tried seemed to have begun in Florida, with a series of increasingly bizarre outbursts.

Standing in the afternoon chill, the man, Max Azzarello, 37, of St. Augustine, Fla., threw pamphlets into the air before dousing himself with an accelerant and setting his body ablaze. The police hurried to extinguish the flames, and he was taken to a hospital burn unit, gravely injured. He died on Friday night.

The fire just a block or two from the courthouse appeared calculated to draw widespread attention, horrifying bystanders and temporarily overshadowing the momentous trial of a former president.

But a closer look at the path the man had traveled to this moment of self-destruction revealed a recent spiral into volatility, one marked by a worldview that had become increasingly confusing and disjointed — and appeared to be unattached to any political party. His social media postings and arrest records suggest the immolation stemmed instead from a place of conspiracy theories and paranoia.

Until last summer, Mr. Azzarello seemed to have lived a relatively quiet life. After high school, where he was a member of a bowling team, he graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2009, with degrees in anthropology and public policy.

As a student at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, N.J., where he received a master’s degree in city and regional planning in 2012, he was known for leaving supportive Post-it notes for classmates in the hallways and for his karaoke performances of Frank Sinatra and Disney tunes, said a former classmate, Katie Brennan.

“He was super curious about social justice and the way things ‘could’ be,” Ms. Brennan said. “He was creative and adventurous.”

He began a career in which, according to his LinkedIn profile, he moved among jobs in marketing, sales and technology. In 2013, he worked on the campaign of Representative Tom Suozzi of Long Island, who was then running for Nassau County executive.

An old friend from high school, Steven Waldman, called Mr. Azzarello one of the smartest people he knew.

“He was a good friend and person and cared about the world,” he said.

But there was cause for concern, too.

By last year, he had apparently settled in St. Augustine, where he lived in a modest apartment near the Matanzas River in that historic city. He was a pleasant if sometimes peculiar neighbor.

“An extremely nice person,” said Larry Altman, the property manager at his apartment building, who added: “He had political views that I would not consider mainstream. He called our government and the world government a Ponzi scheme.”

But there were no signs that he was harboring an urge to harm himself, Mr. Altman said.

“If you met Max, he’d shake your hand, and you’d have a nice conversation,” he said. “He’d treat you with respect.”

He was clearly deeply affected by the loss of his mother, however. Elizabeth Azzarello died on April 6, 2022, near Sea Cliff, N.Y., on Long Island, where she had fought pulmonary disease, Mr. Azzarello wrote on Instagram in April 2022.

“I am immensely proud to say that she navigated the awful challenges of this disease with strength, dignity and spirit through the very end,” he wrote.

After this loss, his old friends saw a change. “That was around the time when he became more outspoken,” Mr. Waldman said. “They were close, and they had a good relationship. He was heartbroken.”

By the following year, the clarity Mr. Azzarello had shown in writing of his grief was gone, and a troubled image emerged.

In March 2023, he listed his profession on LinkedIn as “Research Investigator,” self-employed. In June of that year, he tagged Ms. Brennan and several others to make sure they had seen something he had written. She described it as a “manifesto” and called him immediately and tried to intervene. Eventually she wrote to one of his family members to make sure that they were aware that he was in crisis, she said.

About five months later, in early August 2023, he posted on Facebook about visiting a mental health treatment facility: “Three days in the psych ward, and all I got were my new favorite socks.”

Days later, in picturesque St. Augustine, he went for dinner at the Casa Monica Hotel on Cordova Street. Afterward, Mr. Azzarello walked into the lobby, approached an autograph left by former President Bill Clinton, who had signed the wall several years earlier, and threw a glass of wine at it, the police said. He admitted what he had done to officers, the police said. The episode was most likely written off as one man’s bad night.

Two days later, he was back, standing outside the hotel in just his underwear, ranting and cursing into a bullhorn, the police said. And just three days after that, he vandalized a sign outside a nearby United Way office before climbing into the bed of a stranger’s truck and rifling its contents, the police said.

All these events played out within walking distance of the apartment where even his most far-afield views had only recently been delivered politely.

In the months that followed, Mr. Azzarello promoted his disjointed preoccupations in a document he posted on Facebook. The pages attacked fascism and the general complacency of the public. They espoused general anti-government sentiment but did not seem directed at a discernible political party.

“Like frogs in water coming to a boil, the public didn’t notice the rotten truth behind the illusion of freedom,” the writings state. The man who had written fondly of his mother just a year earlier — “gracious and warm, silly and catty, compassionate and supportive” — and their time together seemed to have disappeared.

His greatest vexation appeared to be cryptocurrency, which he cast as a threat to humanity.

It was unclear when he arrived in New York, taking a room at the Soho 54 Hotel on Watts Street in Lower Manhattan and making his way to the running sideshow outside the downtown criminal courthouse.

The area he chose, Collect Pond Park, has been an on-and-off stage for supporters and opponents of Mr. Trump for months. Mr. Azzarello was there by Thursday, holding a sign and speaking in ways that, perhaps bizarre elsewhere, fit in with the disparate voices of the park.

On Friday, the crowd in the park had thinned. At about 1:35 p.m., people began to scream. A blur followed: a man on fire, bright flames licking his clothing and hair; officers scrambling over barricades; a departing ambulance.

His oldest friends were left struggling to make sense of this act.

“He was kind and a gentle soul,” said Carol Waldman, the mother of his childhood friend. “A real wonderful, terrific young guy. Who had his whole life ahead of him.”

George Soros and his hard-left acolytes are paying agitators who are fueling the explosion of radical anti-Israel protests at colleges across the country.

The protests, which began when students took over Columbia University’s Morningside Heights campus lawn last week, have mushroomed nationwide.

Copycat tent cities have been set up at colleges including Harvard , Yale, Berkeley in California, the Ohio State University and Emory in Georgia — all of them organized by branches of the Soros-funded Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) — and at some, students have clashed with police.

Israel hate camps explode - funded by Soros. A map showing campuses where there have been anti-Israel protests.

The SJP parent organization has been funded by a network of nonprofits ultimately funded by, among others, Soros, the billionaire left-wing investor.

At three colleges, the protests are being encouraged by paid radicals who are “fellows” of a Soros-funded group called the US Campaign for Palestinian Rights (USCPR).

USCPR provides up to $7,800 for its community-based fellows and between $2,880 and $3,660 for its campus-based “fellows” in return for spending eight hours a week organizing “campaigns led by Palestinian organizations.”

They are trained to “rise up, to revolution.”

The radical group received at least $300,000 from Soros’ Open Society Foundations since 2017 and also took in $355,000 from the Rockefeller Brothers Fund since 2019.

It has three “fellows” who have been major figures in the nationwide protest movement.

Nidaa Lafi, a former president of the University of Texas Students for Justice in Palestine, was seen at an encampment at UT Dallas Wednesday making a speech demanding an end to the war in Gaza .

Lafi, a former legislative intern for the late Democratic Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson, graduated from the school last year with a degree in global business and is now a law student at Southern Methodist University in Dallas.

In January, she was detained for blocking the route of President Biden’s motorcade after he arrived in Dallas for the funeral of Johnson, her former boss.

At Yale, USCPR’s fellow Craig Birckhead-Morton was arrested Monday and charged with first-degree trespassing when SJP’s branch, Yalies4Palestine, occupied the school’s Beinecke Plaza, the Yale Daily News reported.

Birckhead-Morton — also a former intern for a Democrat, Maryland rep John Sarbanes — emerged from custody to address a sit-in blocking traffic in New Haven.

The most high-profile of the fellows is Berkeley’s Malak Afaneh, co-president of the Berkeley Law Students for Justice in Palestine.

She has been a serial speaker at an anti-Israel protest on the campus this week — which came after she first shot to prominence by hijacking a dinner at the law school dean’s home to shout anti-Israel slogans, then accused the dean’s wife of assaulting her when she asked the radical to leave.

The cash from Soros and his acolytes has been critical to the Columbia protests that set off the national copycat demonstrations.

Three groups set up the tent city on Columbia’s lawn last Wednesday: Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) and Within Our Lifetime.

At the “Gaza Solidarity Encampment,” students sleep in tents apparently ordered from Amazon and enjoy delivery pizza, coffee from Dunkin’ , free sandwiches worth $12.50 from Pret a Manger, organic tortilla chips and $10 rotisserie chickens.

ON THE LAST DAY OF RAMADAN, UC BERKELEY LAW PROFESSOR ASSAULTS A HIJABI

An analysis by The Post shows that all three got cash from groups linked to Soros. The Rockefeller Brothers Fund also gave cash to JVP.

The fund is chaired by Joseph Pierson, and includes David Rockefeller Jr, a fourth-generation member of the oil dynasty, on its board of directors. The non-profit gives money to “sustainable development” and “peace-building.”

And a former Wall Street banker, Felice Gelman, a retired investment banker who has dedicated her Wall Street fortune to pro-Palestinian causes, funded all three groups.

Both SJP and JVP were expelled from Columbia University in November for “threatening rhetoric and intimidation.” JVP blamed Israel for the Oct 7 Hamas terrorist attack that left 1,200 Israelis dead.

“Israeli apartheid and occupation — and United States complicity in that oppression — are the source of all this violence,” JVP said in a statement on its website.

SJP called the terrorist strike on Israel “a historic win.”

An analysis by The Post shows how Soros and Gelman’s cash made its way to the students through a network of nonprofits that help obscure their contributions.

Soros has given billions to the Open Society Foundations which his son Alexander — whose partner is Huma Abedin, Hillary Clinton’s top aide and the estranged wife of pervert Anthony Weiner — now controls.

In turn, Open Society has given more than $20 million to the Tides Foundation, a progressive nonprofit “fiscal sponsor” that then sends the cash to smaller groups.

Those groups include A Jewish Voice for Peace, which between 2017 and 2022 has received $650,000 from Soros’ Open Society. Its advisers include the academic Noam Chomsky and the left-wing feminist author Naomi Klein.

JVP has been a prominent part of the protests at Columbia and one of its student members was among a group expelled from the university for inviting the leader of a proscribed terrorist group, Khaled, to the “Resistance 101” Zoom meeting.

Soros has also donated $132,000 to WESPAC, called in full the Westchester People’s Action Coalition Foundation.

The White Plains-based nonprofit was founded in 1974 to rally for civil rights and against the Vietnam War but is now a major funder of anti-Israel groups, including Within Our Lifetime and Students for Justice in Palestine.

SJP has also received funding from the Sparkplug Foundation, a New York-based nonprofit run by Gelman and her husband, Yoram Gelman.

The couple funneled their $20,000 donation to the group through WESPAC in 2022, according to public filings.

Gelman was previously on WESPAC’s committee for Justice and Peace in the Middle East in 2009 when she was invited to Gaza by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency, according to the group’s website.

The UN group has been slammed for its support of Hamas .

Gelman is on the board of the Bard Lifetime Learning Institute, an offshoot of the infamously progressive college, as well as the Jenin Freedom Theatre, located in the Jenin refugee camp in the West Bank.

WESPAC president Howard Horowitz, a former Orthodox Jew, is a member of the New York chapter of JVP, which says it works for “advocacy and public education for Palestinian human rights.”

Horowitz said he embraced the Palestinian cause after time spent living in Israel, according to a report in the Israel Times.

WESPAC has also given money to Within Our Lifetime, founded by the ubiquitous anti-Israeli protester Nerdeen Kiswani .

Within our Lifetime uses a loophole in the law to avoid declaring how much it receives from donors by not being a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, meaning it is unknown how Kiswani has benefited.

However, WESPAC is named as a fiscal sponsor of Within Our Lifetime.

After The Post published our story, an Open Society Foundations spokesperson said: “For the record, Open Society Foundations has a long history of fighting antisemitism, islamophobia and all forms of racism and hate.

“Open Society has funded a broad spectrum of US groups that have advocated for the rights of Palestinians and Israelis and for peaceful resolution to the conflict in Israel and the OPT.

“This funding is a matter of public record, disclosed on our website, fully compliant with US laws, and is part of our commitment to continuing open debate that is ultimately the only hope for peace in the region.

“The Open Society Foundations proudly support the right of all citizens to peaceful protest — a bedrock principle of our democracy.”

None of the other groups responded to requests by The Post for comment.
