Q: What inspired you to want to run for Homecoming Queen?

A: My sister inspired me to run because she was on the Homecoming Court and I wanted to follow in her footsteps. Also, I thought it would be an interesting experience to try it. I mean, it’s senior year.

Q: How do you feel about the competition?

A: Honestly, I don’t know many people on the Court, but I’ve heard wonderful things about them. I’ll meet them when we take our picture.

Q: How have you campaigned so far?

A: I haven’t really campaigned. If it was meant to happen, it will happen. I’m not going to put up all of these posters and shove it down other people’s throats. That would make me feel really bad.

Q: Why should the student body vote for you?

A: I’m really involved in a lot of things in school and I think it would be a really cool opportunity, but it is just a title.

Q: Why do you want to be Homecoming Queen?

A: I want to be Homecoming Queen because my sister was a nominee in 2011 or 2012, and I want to win this for her.

A: It’s a really good competition. I’m not really worried about anything because it’s like, if you win, you win and if you lose, you lose.

Q: How are you campaigning?

A: I have friends who campaign for me over Twitter, Facebook and via word of mouth. I don’t want to campaign too much because people get annoyed. It is what it is.

Q: What happens during the parade?

A: Each king and queen nominee are put together, I think by alphabetical order into convertibles.

Q: Why should we vote for you?

A: I think people should vote for me because I want to represent everything Plano is. I don’t want it to be like I’m Homecoming Queen because I’m popular. I want people to vote for me because of the genuine me, not because I’m popular.

Q: What’s your favorite thing about homecoming?

A: Dressing up and taking pictures.

Q: What inspired you to run for homecoming?

A: I thought it was a good opportunity. I wanted to do it just because, I mean anyone can do it.

Q: Do you do any extracurricular activities or hobbies?

A: I like playing guitar and singing as well as dance, which I do in Dancing For a Cause.

Q: How did you feel about getting nominated?

A: It was really exciting. There are a lot of people that are well-known. I didn’t believe it when it happened. It was a surprise.

A: I want to be Homecoming Queen because last year I ran for princess, but backed out because I didn’t want to lose my friends from competing against them. I’m running because it’s a good time to redeem myself, not for revenge, but for experience. I want to show people that you shouldn’t give up on your dream and keep pursuing what your goal is, as well as not letting people throw insults at you. Pick yourself back up and move on.

Q: Did you go to Homecoming last year last year?

A: No, I didn’t.

Q: How do you feel about being nominated for Homecoming Queen?

A: I feel really excited and honored.

Q: What inspired you to run?

A: It was kind of a surprise when I got nominated. I always thought it would be cool to be Homecoming Queen, but I never really went for it until a week before voting. I thought, ‘Why not?’ And in the song Royals, there is a part that says, ‘you can call me queen bee.’ I thought that was cool, so if I win I could say, ‘You can call me queen bee.’ That’s just me.

Q: How do you feel about your competition?

A: Well I met this girl Katelyn and I know she’s running and she’s in band and she has a really good support group. So I think it will be a tough competition. And the other three girls are my friends, so it’s a friendly competition.

Q: Why do you think the student body should vote for you?

A: I’m really nice and sweet and I have school spirit. I think it would be fun. I mean my spirit is there and my hearts in it. I kind of have this idea of a Homecoming Queen to be well known, well liked and well rounded. I feel like I fit those categories. I also feel like a Homecoming Queen should be a good role model and I believe I am one.

Q: How do you feel about the pep rally on Wednesday and how are the Homecoming Kings and Queens paired up?

A: I’m very excited because I rode in a Beamer in the parade with one on the king nominees, Akash Kundu. I’m in Dancing For a Cause, and we’re performing and it’s really exciting.

A: I’ve pretty much just asked my friends if they wanted to vote me for Homecoming Queen, and a lot of them did. I’m determined and it’s senior year. Also, to motivate my friends I offered cake balls. I was thinking about bringing a box of cookies for people next week during voting.

Q: What made you want to run for Homecoming Queen?

A: Last year I was going to run for princess, but I decided not to and this year Queen is a bigger title. Also, I thought it would be cool to have a Homecoming Queen that was an editor of yearbook.

A: I think people should vote for me because I represent yearbook and DFC.

A: I would presume the band nominated me.

Q: Are you excited to be nominated?

A: Yeah, I’m really excited to represent Plano in a positive way on the court.

Q: What do you think your chances of winning ar?

A: I don’t know who will win, but I think whatever turns out in the competition, whoever it may be, will do it well.

Q: What’s your favorite part about being a Plano Wildcat?

A: Participating in the traditions that are in Plano. Being a part of the band and getting to be involved in all the football games is really fun.

Q: What are your plans for homecoming night?

A: I’m going with some band friends and we’re going to go out to dinner. We’ll go to the dance and then we’ll go to my house and play ping pong.

Q: What part of homecoming are you looking forward to the most?

A: I’m looking forward to the dance the most, because I find it to be exciting.

Q: Why should people vote for you?

A: People should vote for me because I will be a good king. I’m determined and fit for the job.

Q: If you could change one thing about homecoming, what would it be?

A: I would change the location of the dance because since it’s a cafeteria, it’s not a big space.

A: My plans are to go to dinner with my date and take pictures and then go to the dance.

Q: Are you doing any campaigning?

A: Yeah, we’re doing massive campaigning. We’re writing on people’s cars, and we’re supposed to make t-shirts and cupcakes

Q: Who nominated you to be on Homecoming Court?

A: A group of my friends in A lunch got their lunch table to nominate me and more people that they’re friends with in that lunch.

Q: How do you feel about your competitors? Do you feel like you have a good chance of winning?

A: I have a lot of support from the band and from my friends in AP classes and classes that my competitors are not in. I don’t usually think of myself as very popular, but I think among my friends I’m relatively popular.

Q: If you could chance one thing about homecoming, what would it be?

A: It’s always a pain to plan everything out with your group. With my group, we have spent so much time planning everything together. It’s a lot of stress.

A: We’re planning at meeting up for pictures at Shops at Legacy and we’re going to go have dinner. Then we’re probably going to go to the dance and then somebody’s house to just hangout afterwards.

A: Probably just the dance, and being able to see everybody.

A: Not yet, I plan on writing one soon.

A: Just a little bit of stuff. I’m posting some things on Facebook. I know StuCo wanted to do a dunk booth, and I told them I’d do that.

A: Just go to dinner, then the dance and a party afterwards.

A: Ever since I asked my date to homecoming, a couple of my friends thought I would be a good candidate. Taylor Chambers and Sara Rasor tweeted about me being Homecoming King.

A: I think the band has a big influence on who wins, and since there are four band guys this year, the band will be split up. So I think everyone has a good chance of winning.

Q: What is your favorite part about being a Plano Wildcat?

A: I love everything about being a Plano Wildcat. The tradition is unmatched. We have so many things that Plano Senior High has had going on for so long. I love the atmosphere and the school pride.

Q: What are your plans for Homecoming night?

A: We’re going to the dance and to a restaurant called Brio. Then we’re either going to Infinite Bounds for the night, or to a friend’s house to spend the night.
