UC Approved Course List (A-G)

The University of California’s freshmen admission requirements represent a good measure of admission requirements for most colleges and universities. The “a - g” requirements created by the UC system indicate that a student must complete the high school courses listed below. Note that some colleges and universities, especially private and out-of-state, may have different entrance requirements.

History/social science (“a”)

Two years , including one year of world history, cultures and historical geography and one year of U.S. history, or one-half year of U.S. history and one-half year of American government or civics.
