இங்கே யார் ஜோக்கர்? - ‘ஜோக்கர்’ விமர்சனம்
ப டத்தில்... பதவியைத் தக்க வைக்க தகிடுதத்தம் செய்யும் முதல்வர் இல்லை, இடைத் தேர்தலில் ஜெயிக்க எதிராளியை கொலை செய்யும் ஆளுங்கட்சி உறுப்பினர் இல்லை, மது-மாது என எப்போதும் உல்லாசிக்கும் சட்டமன்ற உறுப்பினர் இல்லை. ஆனால், காட்சிக்கு காட்சி, வசனத்துக்கு வசனம் சுளீர் அரசியல் பேசுகிறான் இந்த ‘ஜோக்கர்’!
’பவருக்கும், பவுசுக்கும் அடிமையாகி, தீயதைக் கொண்டாடி, நல்லதை மறந்து வாழ்ற சமுதாயத்துலதான் நாம வாழ்றோம். ஆனா, அதைத் தட்டியும் கேட்கமாட்டோம், தட்டிக் கேட்குறவங்கள ஜோக்கர்னும் சொல்லுவோம்’ என்ற நிதர்சனத்தை எதார்த்தமாக முகத்தில் அறைந்து சொல்லியிருக்கிறான் ’ஜோக்கர்’.
சசிபெருமாள், ‘டிராஃபிக்’ ராமசாமி, ‘மதுரை’ நந்தினி போன்றவர்களின் போராட்டங்களை வெறும் செய்திகளாகக் கடக்கும் சமூகத்துக்கு... மக்களாட்சிக்கு யார் பொறுப்பு என்பதை அழுந்தத்திருத்தமாகச் சொல்கிறார் இயக்குநர் ராஜு முருகன். ’குக்கூ’வில் காதலும் காதல் நிமித்தமுமாக மெழுகுவர்த்தி ஒளி காட்டியவர், ‘ஜோக்கரில்’ பிடித்திருப்பது அரசியல் தீப்பந்தம்!
வீட்டில் ஒரு கக்கூஸ் கட்டினால் காதலியை கை பிடிக்கலாம். ஆனால், அது கூட இயலாத ‘மன்னர் மன்னனாக’ சோமசுந்தரம். அரச பயங்கரவாதத்தை எதிர்த்துப் போராடினாலும், ‘பொட்டி கேஸ் பொன்னூஞ்சல்’ என்று கிண்டலுக்கு உள்ளாகும் ராமசாமி. கழிப்பறை இருக்கும் வீட்டுக்கு திருமணமாகி செல்ல வேண்டும் என்பதை பெருங்கனவாகக் கொண்டிருக்கும் பெண்ணாக ரம்யா பாண்டியன். கணவனை மது அரக்கனுக்குப் பறி கொடுத்துவிட்டு, அரசாங்கத்துக்கு எதிரான குரலுக்கு ஒலிபெருக்கியாக இருக்கும் ’இசை’யாக காயத்ரி கிருஷ்ணா. இந்த நால்வர் வாழ்க்கையின் குறுக்குவெட்டுத் தோற்றத்தில் தமிழகத்தின் அவல நிலவரங்களை பொளேரென முகத்தில் அடித்துச் சொல்கிறான் ‘ஜோக்கர்’!
மத்திய அரசாங்கம் அறிவிக்கும் இலவச கழிப்பறைத் திட்டத்தில் கழிப்பறை கட்ட விண்ணப்பிக்கிறார் சோமசுந்தரம். ஆனால், கழிப்பறை ஊழலில் இவருக்கு மிஞ்சுவது பீங்கான் கோப்பை மட்டுமே. அரைகுறையாக எழுப்பப்பட்ட கழிப்பறையால் அவர் வாழ்வே கேள்விக்குறியாகிறது. இதனால் மனதளவில் பாதிக்கப்படும் சோமசுந்தரம், தன்னை ’இந்தியாவின் ஜனாதிபதி’யாக நியமித்துக் கொண்டு, ஊரில் நடக்கும் அநீதிகளுக்கு எதிராகப் பல போராட்டங்களை நடத்துகிறார். கூடவே தன் மனைவிக்காக ஒரு மனு போட்டு, நீதிமன்றங்களில் அது தள்ளுபடி செய்யப்பட உச்சநீதிமன்றம் வரை அதைக் கொண்டு செல்கிறார். அது என்ன மனு, அதன் விளைவு என்ன, சோமசுந்தரத்தின் போராட்டங்கள் என்ன தாக்கத்தை உண்டாக்குகின்றன போன்ற தொடர் சம்பவங்களை மனதில் ஆதங்கமும் ஆவேசமுமாகப் பதியச் செய்கிறது படம்!
சினிமா எனும் அதிகவனம் ஈர்க்கும் பொதுதளத்தில், அந்தப் பொது தளத்தின் மனசாட்சியையே சாட்டையால் விளாசியிருக்கிறது கதையின் கரு!
கழிப்பறையில் பிருஷ்டத்தை கழுவியபடியே படத்தின் நாயகன் அறிமுகமாவது முதல் ‘இதுக்கு பஜார் லாட்ஜ்ல பிராத்தல் பண்ணலாம்’ என கொதிகொதிக்கும் க்ளைமாக்ஸ் வசனம் வரை... படத்தில் எங்கும் ’so called' சினிமா சாயல் இல்லை. ‘அபத்தங்களைக் கொண்டாடி’ பழகிய சினிமாவில் இது புது பாட்டை. துணிச்சலுக்கு வாழ்த்துகள் ராஜு!
’உன் கைலதான் கவர்மெண்ட் இருக்குல்ல... பேசாம அந்த நாய்க்கு காய் அடிச்சுவிட்ரு’, ‘நகைக்கடைக்காரன் புரட்சி பண்ற நாட்ல, ஜனாதிபதி புரட்சி பண்ணக் கூடாதா?’, ‘ஜனாதிபதி வீட்டு கரன்ட் பில்லு எவ்ளோனு கேட்டாக் கூட சொல்லணும்’, ‘சகாயம் பண்ணுங்கனு சொல்லலை... சகயாம் மாதிரி பண்ணுங்க’னுதான் சொல்றோம்!’, ‘இந்த நாட்ல வாழ்றதுதான் கஷ்டம்னு பார்த்தா... இப்போ பேள்றதையும் கஷ்டமாக்கிட்டாங்களே..!’, ’குண்டு வைக்கிறவன்லாம் விட்டுருங்க, உண்டகட்டி வாங்கி திண்ணுட்டு கோயில்ல தூங்குறவன பிடிங்க’, ’உழைக்கிறவன் வண்டியதான போலீஸ் புடிச்சு ஸ்டேஷன்ல வெச்சுக்கும்? எந்த ஸ்டேஷன்லயாவது ஆடி காரோ, பி.எம்.டபிள்யூவோ துருப்பிடிச்சு நின்னுட்டிருக்கா?’ - குடியானவனின் வீட்டு கழிப்பறைகளிலிருந்து கோடிகளைக் கொள்ளையடித்துக் கொண்டு ‘கக்கூஸ் கட்டுன காசு நாறாது’ என்று தத்துவம் பேசும் அரசியல் - அதிகார மையங்களை சகட்டுமேனிக்கு சவட்டியெடுக்கின்றன வசனங்கள்.
அதே சமயம் சாமான்யனின் மனசாட்சியையும் உலுக்குகின்றன வசனங்கள். ‘சூப்பர் சிங்கர்ல நம்ம புள்ள கலந்துக்கணும்... அதைப் பார்த்து நாம அழுவணும்... அதை டி.வி.ல காட்டணும்!’, ‘ஆமா.. அவர் அப்பா மார் சளிக்காக குடிக்கிறாரு, என் புருசன் நான் மார்ல அடிச்சிக்கணும்னு குடிக்கிறான்’, ‘இப்போலாம் ஹீரோவைவிட வில்லனைத்தானே இந்த சனங்களுக்குப் பிடிக்குது’, ‘உங்களுக்காகப் போராடுற எங்களைப் பார்த்தா பைத்தியக்காரன்னு தோணினா... அது எங்க தப்பில்ல!’ - பொறுப்பை உதாசினப்படுத்தும், நல்லது/கெட்டது தெரியாத- தெரிந்துகொள்ள விரும்பாத- உள்ளங்களை உலுக்கும் வார்த்தைகள்.
’மக்கள் ஜனாதிபதி’யாகவே வாழ்ந்திருக்கிறார் சோமசுந்தரம். எளியவனைப் பிரதிபலிக்கும்போது ஒரு நடிப்பும், அந்தக் கோட் அணிந்து ஜனாதிபதியானதும் தலையை நிமிர்த்தத் துவங்கி, அதற்கென ஒரு நடிப்பும் என்று மிளிர்கிறார். ‘ஒரு கண்ணு காந்தி, இன்னொரு பக்கம் பகத்சிங்கை வச்சிருக்கேன். எனக்கு கோவம் வந்துச்சி பகத்சிங்க அவுத்துவிட்டுருவேன் பாத்துக்க’, ‘பாப்பிரெட்டிப்பட்டி பவன்ல இருந்து வந்த பெட்டிஷன் என்ன ஆச்சு’ என்று ஆவேசம் காட்டும்போதெல்லாம்... இந்நாட்டின் மன்னனாகவே மாறிவிடுகிறார். அதே சமயம் காதலி முதன்முதலில் வீட்டுக்குள் வரும்போது காட்டும் அந்த குழைவும், நெளிவும்... சிறப்பு!
கோவணப்போராட்டம், வாயிலடித்துக்கொள்ளும் போராட்டம், குளோபல் வார்மிங் போராட்டம், ரிவர்ஸ் போராட்டம், காறித்துப்பும் போராட்டம் என்று விதவிதமாகப் போராட்டங்களில் ஈடுபடுகிறார் சோமசுந்தரம். அதற்காக நீதிமன்ற வாசலில் பெட்டிகேஸ் போட்டு, நீதிக்காக காத்துகிடக்கும் பொன்னூஞ்சல், ஒவ்வொரு போராட்டத்தையும் ஃபேஸ்புக்கில் பகிர்வது என்று போராட்டத்தை அப்டேட்டாக எடுத்துச்செல்லும் இசை... அவரவர்களின் பின்புலம் மற்றும் நடிப்பு சபாஷ்!
‘உங்க மேல அரசியல்வாதிகளுக்கு ஏன் கோவம்’ என்று பத்திரிகையாளர்கள் கேட்க, சோமசுந்தரம் ஒவ்வொரு சம்பவமாகச் சொல்வதெல்லாம்... கசக்கும் உண்மை!
‘மண்டைக்குள்ள கலவரம், யுத்தகாலம் ஆரம்பிச்சிட்டுது’ என்று வசனம் பேசும் பவா செல்லத்துரை, சிறிதுநேரம் வந்தாலும் நடிப்பில் நச். அவருக்கும் சோமசுந்தரத்துக்குமான உரையாடல்களே படத்தின் போக்கைத் தீர்மானிக்கின்றன.
படத்தின் ராஜூமுருகனுக்கு பக்கபலமாக க்ளாப்ஸ் அள்ளுகிறது செழியனின் கேமரா. பறவைப் பார்வையில் சோமசுந்தரம் கிராமத்துக்குள் உலாவருவதைக் காண்பிப்பதிலும், சோமசுந்தரம் வீட்டின் ஒவ்வொரு சதுர அடியைக் காண்பித்ததிலும் கனகச்சிதம். செல்லம்மா பாடலில் சோகம் கடத்துகிறது ஷான் ரோல்டனின் இசை. திரைக்கதையின் வேகம் குறையுமிடங்களில், வசனங்கள் அந்த அலுப்பை சரிசெய்கிறது.
‘கோணமண்டை புடிக்கல’ என்று தன்னை ரிஜெக்ட் செய்யும் ரம்யாவை, சோமசுந்தரத்தின் பிரியம் கொஞ்சம் கொஞ்சமாகக் கரைக்கும் காட்சிகள்... படத்தின் மென் அத்தியாயங்கள்.
மினரல் வாட்டர் நிறுவனத்தின் பெயர் ‘AMA', 'மதுவால் இறந்தவர் இங்கே... மதுவைத் திறந்தவர் எங்கே’, டெல்லி சாமி, அரை நாள் உண்ணாவிரதத்துக்கு ஏன் ஏ.சி., இயற்கை வளச் சூறையாடல், இஸ்லாம் பிறைக்கும் சிவன் பிறைக்கும் முடிச்சிட்டு ‘முப்பாட்டன்’ என அறைகூவும் ‘ஒறவுகளே’ தலைவர் என நிகழ்கால அநீதிகளை, அபத்தங்களை போகிற இடமெல்லாம் சுட்டி குட்டிக் காட்டுகிறது படம்.
இதுவரை, ’பிழைக்கத் தெரியாதவன்’ என்ற அடைமொழிக்கோ, படத்தின் அச்சு பிச்சு காமெடிகளுக்கோ பயன்பட்டு வந்த ஒரு கதாபாத்திரத்தை, கதை நாயகனாக்கியதிலேயே ‘ஜோக்கர்’ வித்தியாசப்படுகிறான். இதில் 6 பாட்டு, 5 ஃபைட்டு கொடுக்கும் கேளிக்கை கொண்டாட்டங்களை எதிர்பார்ப்பவர்களுக்கு இந்த ‘ஜோக்கர்’ மூலம் செட்டு சேராது. அதே சமயம், காட்சி ஊடகமான சினிமாவில் வசனங்களே பலத்த தாக்கத்தை உண்டாக்குகின்றன. மனதைத் தைக்கும், உணர்வுகளை உருக்கும் விஸூவல்கள்... பத்தலையே! படம் முழுக்க இருக்கும் எதிர்மறை தொனியையும் தவிர்த்திருக்கலாம். நமக்குப் பழகிய சினிமாவில் ‘happy end' என்பது க்ளிஷேவாக இருந்தாலும், ஜோக்கர் பேசும் கருவுக்கு அது ஒரு நம்பிக்கை கீற்றாக இருந்திருக்கும்.
ஆனாலும், ’நாளை ஒரு போராட்டம், வீதிக்கு வா தோழா’ என்ற ஜோக்கரின் அழைப்பை ஏற்றுக் கொள்ளாவிட்டால்... விளையும் விபரீதங்களுக்கு... நாமே பொறுப்பு!

Agasthya (Akshay) is a space scientist in the US who is looking to device a system that would communicate with the aliens in outer space. Just then, he is forced to return to his village named Paglapur in India, which as the name indicates, has many eccentric characters, including Agasthya’s family. Things aren’t rosy at the village and he discovers that his village has been removed from the Indian map and now he plans to somehow bring his village back in the public eye. As expected he takes the help of his pet subject, aliens, to attract national interest on his village. What follows is buffoonery and silly antics galore, which might appeal to the kids in the audience. Being Akshay Kumar’s 100th movie, he hasn’t chosen his customary comedy masala but instead chosen to make a movie for the kids. He looks very youthful while his pair Sonakshi Sinha has a cute voice that belies her mature physique. That said Sonakshi is sparkling. Shreyas Talpade creates a riot with his alien language (gibberish) that brings about wholesome laughter on occasions. The rest of the characters in the village are also crazy in their own ways. Minisha Lamba hardly impresses in a cameo while the American antagonist named Simon Goeback (interestingly named) is sufficient. The movie is very bright and colourful thanks to the creative art direction and sets. It would surely attract the kids, given the flourish of colours. The movie's plot turns out to be a mish-mash of some other acclaimed movies such as Swades, Lagaan, Koi Mil Gaya and Peepli Live. On the downside, there are far too many songs even though the film is about 105 minutes long only. G.V.Prakash’s ‘Sing Raja’ and Chitrangada Singh’s item number ‘Kafirana’ make a mark for their peppy tunes and colourful picturization. Though the movie is harmless time-pass and isn’t a bad watch, there is nothing special too. His second outing ‘Joker’ is hitting screens today and is based on a political satire featuring Guru Somasundaram in lead role. The film is set in a sub-urban backdrop of Dharmapuri, where we come across a person named Mannar Mannan (played by Guru Somasundaram). He has been a barrier to almost all the officials at Government offices, Court, Police Station, Collector officer and so on. He is someone, who comes up with unique kind of protests and hunger fasts grabbing everyone’s attention against the corruption and social evils. What actually made him to come up with such aggressive nature is narrated in a much explanatory flashback. As the story unfolds by the beginning, the first few minutes say around 25 minutes would be making you guess why the protagonist is seen like a lunatic, but as the story gets into the flashback, the justification is done with the characterizations and the dramatic events that actually paved him the way to become a hilarious yet rational protestor. Major portions of the film is dominated by strong dialogues and they are worthy of appreciations. But what we get to grasp the film on whole is like documentary drama, which might not be completely appealing to general audiences. There is a lack of some drama and too much of preachy words that might be clapped up for praiseworthy social satire based on dialogues, but it wouldn’t alone help the film for the best results. The spellbinding performance of the entire star-cast is one of the biggest plus, especially Guru Somasundaram. We saw him in small but powerful roles in movies like Aaranya Kaandam and Jigarthanda. Over here, he has made every act so much proficient with the naturalistic approach. Gayathri brings up some realistic approach to the role and debut actor Ramya Pandian has done remarkable performance too. Raju Murugan has deeply been inspired by his real life encounters by taking a journey into the villages and he has very well captured the moments. The dramatic events involving love, sentiments and emotions in the flashback sequences have been very well portrayed. Sean Roldan’s songs are okay, but he loses to offer the best on background score. Cinematography by Chezhian is worthy of appreciations that has eye catching visuals. Although, the film ‘Joker’ can be regarded as an exceptional film that speaks about the realistic issues in our every day society, but since it is set against the village backdrops, it might have a passable reach across the city audiences and if Raju Murugan had kept away from too many preachy lines, it would have added up some intensity for the viewers. Joker Review - A prick on our collective consciencePublished date : 12/aug/2016.  Joker Review – A prick on our collective conscience Bharath Vijayakumar Plot : About the travails of social workers. Raju Murugan: Partly satire and partly an emotional drama the best thing about Joker is that it does not miss out on narrating a story on screen amidst its main purpose to question the collective conscience of our society. The intention is very obvious but hardly a scene or two is in your face. The melodrama is kept beautifully minimal. Throughout the film Raju Murugan walks on a thin line and so easily he could have slipped into either side making this a tear-jerker or a loud documentary on the sad state of affairs. The dialogues are certainly bold and this is what every review about Joker will say. But what stands apart is that these dialogues while making a statement about the prevalent situation never stick out and care has been taken to make sure that they are part of the narrative. Though drastically different films, ‘Visaranai’ might come to your mind while seeing ‘Joker’. Both are about how system can play havoc on the common man with or without his consent. the crux of 'Joker' which alters the protagonist's life itself is such a brilliant idea. Guru Somasundaram Guru Somasundaram is brilliant as Mannar Mannar. In a role that could be caricatured so easily he masterfully succeeds in not falling a prey. The consistency in his performance throughout the film too stands out. There are two distinct shades for him in the film and the restraint he shows in not making this too obvious through the sort of acting we generally associate with ‘a good performance’ is an absolute delight. The supporting cast is equally good despite the fact that most of them seem to be non-actors or first timers. Sean Roldan: Music is a mainstay in Joker and Sean Roldan is quite a hero on his own in the film. The melodies are soothing but a little sense of pain is always there in the music. This is the mood of the film as well or this is what the music does to the film. The fact that you are not able to conclusively state either the former or latter is proof enough of the quality of music. Bottomline : Joker sets out with a purpose and achieves it with aplomb. Very few films deliver the message while also keeping the cinematic art form in place. Joker does come very close to achieving this.
