ಕನ್ನಡ ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವದ ಇತಿಹಾಸ

ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಮೊದಲು ಇದ್ದ ಹೆಸರು ಮೈಸೂರು ರಾಜ್ಯ. 1905ರಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಏಕೀಕರಣ ಚಳುವಳಿ ಆರಂಭವಾಯಿತು. 1950 ರಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾರತವು ಗಣರಾಜ್ಯವಾಯಿತು. ಬಳಿಕ ಅಲ್ಲಲ್ಲಿ ಚದುರಿದ್ದ ನಿರ್ದಿಷ್ಟ ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತನಾಡುವ ಭಾಷೆಯ ಆಧಾರದ ಮೇಲೆ ವಿವಿಧ ರಾಜ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ರಚನೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಯಿತು. ಕನ್ನಡ ಮಾತನಾಡುವ ಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯಗಳು ಸೇರಿ, ಮೈಸೂರು ರಾಜ್ಯವು ಉದಯವಾಯಿತು. 1956 ರ ನವೆಂಬರ್ 1 ರಂದು, ಮದ್ರಾಸ್, ಬಾಂಬೆ, ಹೈದರಬಾದ್ ಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯದ ಕನ್ನಡ ಮಾತನಾಡುವ ಪ್ರದೇಶಗಳು ವಿಲೀನಗೊಂಡು ಮೈಸೂರು ರಾಜ್ಯವಾಯಿತು ಹಾಗೂ ಉತ್ತರ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ, ಮಲೆನಾಡು ಮತ್ತು ಹಳೆಯ ಮೈಸೂರು ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿ ಹೊಸದಾಗಿ ರೂಪು ಗೊಂಡ ಮೈಸೂರು ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನು ಮೂರು ಪ್ರದೇಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಗುರುತಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಹೊಸದಾಗಿ ಏಕೀಕೃತಗೊಂಡ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಆರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಸ ಘಟಕದ ಕೋರ್ ರೂಪುಗೊಂಡು ಮುಂಚಿನ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಹೆಸರು ಇರಲೆಂದು “ಮೈಸೂರು” ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರು. 1973ರ ನವೆಂಬರ್‌ 1ರಂದು ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಎಂದು ಬದಲಾಯಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯ ರೂಪುಗೊಂಡಾಗ ಒಟ್ಟು 19 ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಒಳಗೊಂಡಿತ್ತು. ಇದೀಗ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಲ್ಲಿ 31 ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಗಳಿವೆ. ಅಂದಿನಿಂದ ನವೆಂಬರ್ 1 ನ್ನು ಕನ್ನಡ ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವ / ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವವಾಗಿ ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.

ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಮೊದಲು ಇದ್ದ ಹೆಸರು ಮೈಸೂರು ರಾಜ್ಯ ಎಂದು. 1950 ರಲ್ಲಿಭಾರತವು ಗಣರಾಜ್ಯವಾಯಿತು. ಆ ಬಳಿಕ ನಿರ್ದಿಷ್ಟ ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತನಾಡುವ ಭಾಷೆಯ ಆಧಾರದ ಮೇಲೆ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿವಿಧ ರಾಜ್ಯಗಳು ರಚನೆಯಾಗಲು ಆರಂಭವಾಯಿತು. ಅಂತೆಯೇ 1956ರ ನವೆಂಬರ್‌ 1ರಂದು ವಿವಿಧ ಪ್ರದೇಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಜನರನ್ನು ಒಗ್ಗೂಡಿಸಿ ಮೈಸೂರು ರಾಜ್ಯ ರಚನೆಯಾಯಿತು. 1973ರ ನವೆಂಬರ್‌ 1ರಂದು ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಎಂದು ಬದಲಾಯಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.

ತುಂಬಾ ಸುಲಭವಾಗಿ ಕನ್ನಡಿರನ್ನು ಒಂದುಗೂಡಿಸಿ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯ ರಚನೆಯಾಗಿಲ್ಲ. ಭಾರತಕ್ಕೆ ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯ ಸಿಗುವ ಎಷ್ಟೋ ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಮೊದಲೇ ಹೋರಾಟ ಶುರುವಾಗಿತ್ತು. 1890ರಲ್ಲಿ ಧಾರವಾಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಆರ್.ಎಚ್.ದೇಶಪಾಂಡೆ ಅವರು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ವಿದ್ಯಾವರ್ಧಕ ಸಂಘವನ್ನು ರಚಿಸಿದ್ದರು. 1905 ರಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡದ ಕುಲಪುರೋಹಿತರಾದ ಆಲೂರು ವೆಂಕಟರಾವ್‌, ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಏಕೀಕರಣ ಚಳುವಳಿಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದರು. ಹರಿದು ಹಂಚಿಹೋಗಿದ್ದ ಕನ್ನಡ ಮಾತನಾಡುವ ಪ್ರದೇಶಗಳನ್ನು 1956ರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದುಗೂಡಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಕುವೆಂಪು, ಶಿವರಾಮ ಕಾರಂತ, ಮಾಸ್ತಿ ವೆಂಕಟೇಶ ಅಯ್ಯಂಗಾರ್, ಎ ಎನ್‌ ಕೃಷ್ಣ ರಾವ್ ಮತ್ತು ಬಿ ಎಂ ಶ್ರೀ ಕಂಠಯ್ಯ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಹಲವು ಮಹನೀಯರು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಏಕೀಕರಣಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾರಣರಾದರು. ಕನ್ನಡ ಎಂದಾಕ್ಷಣ ಇವರ ಹೆಸರುಗಳನ್ನು ನಾವು ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಸ್ಮರಿಸಲೇಬೇಕು. ಉತ್ತರ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಜನರ ತರ್ಕ ಮಾನ್ಯತೆಗಾಗಿ ನವೆಂಬರ್‌ 1, 1973 ರಂದು ಮೈಸೂರು ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಎಂದು ಬದಲಾಯಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಈ ಮಹತ್ವದ ನಿರ್ಧಾರ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವಾಗ ದೇವರಾಜ ಅರಸ್ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯ ರೂಪುಗೊಂಡಾಗ ಒಟ್ಟು 19 ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಗಳಿತ್ತು. ಇದೀಗ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಲ್ಲಿ 31 ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಗಳಿವೆ.

1956ರ ನವೆಂಬರ್​ 1 ರಿಂದ ಕನ್ನಡ ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವ ಆಚರಣೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಬರಲಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಈ ಬಾರಿ ನಾವು 68ನೇ ಕನ್ನಡ ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವವನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ಎಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲೂ ಕನ್ನಡ ಬಾವುಟ ಹಾರಾಡಲಿದೆ. ನಾಡಗೀತೆ ಮೊಳಗಲಿದೆ. ವಿವಿಧ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಗಣನೀಯ ಸೇವೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದ ಕನ್ನಡದ ಸಾಧಕರಿಗೆ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಇಂದು ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸುತ್ತದೆ, ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರದಾನ ಮಾಡಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲದೇ ಬೇರೆ ರಾಜ್ಯ, ಬೇರೆ ದೇಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರು ಈ ದಿನವನ್ನು ಹಬ್ಬದಂತೆ ಆಚರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.

ನಮ್ಮ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕವನ್ನು ಕನ್ನಡ ನಾಡು, ಕರುನಾಡು, ಶ್ರಿಗಂಧದ ನಾಡು ಎಂದೂ ಕರೆಯಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ನಮ್ಮ ನಾಡ ದೇವಿ ಭುವನೇಶ್ವರಿ. ಕುವೆಂಪು ರಚನೆಯ 'ಜಯ ಭಾರತ ಜನನೀಯ ತನುಜಾತೆ. ಜಯಹೇ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಮಾತೆ' ಗೀತೆಯು ನಮ್ಮ ನಾಡಗೀತೆಯಾಗಿದೆ. ನಮ್ಮ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಬಾವುಟ ಹಳದಿ ಮತ್ತು ಕೆಂಪು ಬಣ್ಣದಿಂದ ಕೂಡಿದೆ. ಕನ್ನಡ ಹೋರಾಟಗಾರ ಎಂ ರಾಮಮೂರ್ತಿ ಅವರು ಹಳದಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಕೆಂಪು ಬಣ್ಣದಿಂದ ಕೂಡಿದ ಬಾವುಟವನ್ನು ಸಿದ್ದಪಡಿದ್ದರು. ಹಳದಿ ಬಣ್ಣವು ಶಾಂತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸೌಹಾರ್ದತೆ ಸೂಚಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಕೆಂಪು ಬಣ್ಣವು ಕ್ರಾಂತಿಯ ಸಂಕೇತವಾಗಿದೆ. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಇದು ಕನ್ನಡಾಂಬೆ ಭುವನೇಶ್ವರಿಯ ಅರಿಶಿನ-ಕುಂಕುಮದ ಸಂಕೇತವೂ ಆಗಿದೆ.

History of Kannada Rajyotsava

The day when the scattered Kannada was named as Karnataka. Karnataka is now known by the name of Mysore. The Karnataka Consolidation Movement was launched in 1905. In 1950, after India became a republic, various provinces of India became states based on languages.

Name of Karnataka

Although there are many opinions about the origin of the word Karnataka, it is generally said that the word “Karunaadu” is derived from the word “high land” which means “karu” and “naadu”. Initially when the Kannada flag was ready, there was a map of Karnataka in the middle of the flag and a seven-sided tee. As it was a bit difficult to print, it was removed, leaving only yellow and red.

Rajyotsava celebrations

The Rajyotsava is celebrated by most Hindus, Muslims and Christians in Karnataka irrespective of religion. Ordinary people also celebrate Kannada vehicles by decorating the Kannada scene. The award will be announced on the day of the Karnataka Rajyotsavam by the State Government. Rajyotsava Awards are presented by the State Government of Karnataka. The chief minister of the state distributes the award to the sadhus. Karnataka Rajyotsava is celebrated in other parts of Karnataka, such as Mumbai and Delhi. The Karnataka Rajyotsava is celebrated overseas by Kannada companies, US, Singapore, Dubai, Muscat, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Scotland and Ireland.

The 67th Kannada Rajyotsava was celebrated with great splendour at St. Mary’s Public School on 2 November 2023. The students of STD V to IX performed a heartfelt dance, a melodious choir song, a group song, an entertaining monologue, and a diverse and educational fancy dress.

The event was a true celebration of Karnataka, as the students spoke about the state’s rich history, its unique qualities, and its story so far, highlighting its contribution to the Indian subcontinent. Mrs. Sarvamangala, the head of the Kannada department, delivered a passionate speech about the importance of Kannada in the state, its ethos, and corresponding culture. She enlightened the audience about the tolerance and power of adapting/assimilating that underlines all Kannada-speaking people’s lives, and how it is reflected in the state’s diverse and inclusive society.

The celebration was a true reflection of the state’s rich cultural heritage and the spirit of unity that defines its people.

ಕನ್ನಡದ ಕುಲಪುರೋಹಿತರಾದ ಆಲೂರು ವೆಂಕಟರಾಯರು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಏಕೀಕರಣ ಚಳುವಳಿಯನ್ನು 1905 ರಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಾರಂಬಿಸಿದರು. 1950ರಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾರತವು ಗಣರಾಜ್ಯವಾದ ನಂತರ ಭಾರತದ ವಿವಿಧ ಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯಗಳು ಭಾಷೆಗಳ ಆಧಾರದ ಮೇಲೆ ರಾಜ್ಯಗಲಾಗಿ ರೂಪುಗೊಂಡವು. ಈ ಹಿಂದೆ ರಾಜರ ಆಳ್ವಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಭಾರತದ ಹಲವಾರು ಸಂಸ್ಥಾನಗಳನ್ನು ಒಳಗೊಂಡಂತೆ ರಾಜ್ಯಗಳು ರೂಪುಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದವು. ಕನ್ನಡ ಮಾತನಾಡುವ ಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯಗಳು ಸೇರಿ ಮೈಸೂರು ರಾಜ್ಯವು ಉದಯವಾಯಿತು. 

1956 ರ ನವೆಂಬರ್ 1 ರಂದು ಮದ್ರಾಸ್, ಮುಂಬೈ, ಹೈದರಾಬಾದ್ ಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯದ ಕನ್ನಡ ಮಾತನಾಡುವ ಪ್ರದೇಶಗಳು ವಿಲೀನಗೊಂಡು ಮೈಸೂರು ರಾಜ್ಯ ಉದಯವಾಯಿತು. ಉತ್ತರ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ, ಮಲೆನಾಡು ಮತ್ತು ಹಳೆಯ ಮೈಸೂರು ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿ ಹೊಸದಾಗಿ ರೂಪುಗೊಂಡ ಮೈಸೂರು ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನಾಗಿ ಗುರುತಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.

ಹೊಸದಾಗಿ ಏಕೀಕೃತಗೊಂಡ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಆರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಸ ಘಟಕದ ಕೋರ್ ರೂಪುಗೊಂದು ಮುಂಚಿನ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಹೆಸರು ಇರಲೆಂದು “ಮೈಸೂರು” ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರು. ಆದರೆ ಉತ್ತರ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಜನರ ತರ್ಕ ಮಾನ್ಯತೆಗಾಗಿ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಹೆಸರು ನವೆಂಬರ್ 1, 1973 ರಂದು “ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ” ಎಂದು ಬದಲಾಯಿತು.

ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವರಾಜ್ ಅರಸ್ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಮುಕ್ಯಮಾತ್ರಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಏಕೀಕರಣ ಮನ್ನಣೆ ಇತರ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳಿಗೂ ಸೇರುತ್ತದೆ. ಅವರೆಂದರೆ ಅನಕೃ, ಕೆ ಶಿವರಾಮ್ ಕಾರಂತ, ಕುವೆಂಪು , ಮಾಸ್ತಿ ವೆಂಕಟೇಶ್ ಅಯ್ಯಂಗಾರ್ , ಎ ಎನ್ ಕೃಷ್ಣರಾವ್ ಮತ್ತು ಬಿ ಎಂ ಶ್ರೀಕಂಠಯ್ಯ.

ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಹೆಸರು ಬಂದದ್ದು ಹೇಗೆ?

ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಪದದ ಮೂಲ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತ. ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತದ ಕನ್ನಡ ಪದದಿಂದ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದೆ. ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರ ನಾಡು, ಕನ್ನಡ ನಾಡು ,ಎಂಬುದು ಇದರ ಅರ್ಥ. ಆದರೆ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಎಂಬ ಪದದ ಹುಟ್ಟು ಅಥವಾ ಅರ್ಥದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಹಲವಾರು ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯಗಳು ಇವೆ. ಕರು + ನಾಡು = ಕರುನಾಡು ಎಂಬ ಪದವು ನಂತರ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕವಾಯಿತು ಎಂಬುದು ಕೆಲವರ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯ.

ಕರು ಎಂದರೆ ಕಪ್ಪು, ಇದರರ್ಥ ಕಪ್ಪು ಮಣ್ಣಿನ ನಾಡು ಎಂದೂ ಸಹ ಹೇಳಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಹಳೆಯ ಗ್ರಂಥಗಳು ಇದನ್ನು ಕರ್ನಾಟ ಎಂಬ ಪದದಿಂದ ಪಡೆಯಲಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಸೂಚಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಕೆಲವು ಮೂಲಗಳು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕವನ್ನು ಎತ್ತರದ ಭೂಮಿಗೆ ಅನುವಾದಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.

ಉತ್ತರ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಜನತೆಯ ಮಾನ್ಯತೆಗಾಗಿ ಮೈಸೂರು ಎಂಬ ಹೆಸರಿನ ಬದಲು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಎಂದು ನಾಮಕರಣ ಮಾಡಬೇಕು ಎಂದು 1972 ರ ಜುಲೈನಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಚರ್ಚೆ ಭುಗಿಲೆದ್ದಿತ್ತು. ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ಚರ್ಚೆಗಳ ನಂತರ ರಾಜ್ಯ ವಿಧಾನಸಭೆಯಲೂ ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಸರ್ವಾನುಮತ ಅನುಮತಿ ದೊರೆಯಿತು. ನಂತರ ಈ ರಾಜ್ಯವು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯವಾಯಿತು. 

ಕನ್ನಡ ಬಾವುಟ

ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ತನ್ನದೇ ಆದ ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇಕ ಬಾವುಟವಾದ ಅಗತ್ಯವನ್ನರಿತ ಅಂದಿನ ಕನ್ನಡದ ಹೋರಾಟಗಾರರಾದ ಎಂ ರಾಮಮೂರ್ತಿಯವರು ಹಳದಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಕೆಂಪು ಬಣ್ಣವನ್ನು ಒಳಗೊಂಡ ಬಾವುಟವನ್ನು ಸಿದ್ದಪಡಿಸಿದರು. ಹಳದಿ ಬಣ್ಣವು ಕನ್ನದಾಂಬೆಯ ಆರಿಶಿನ ಮತ್ತು ಕುಂಕುಮವನ್ನು ಸೂಚಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಧ್ವಜದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಹಳದಿ ಬಣ್ಣವು ಶಾಂತಿ, ಸೌಹಾರ್ದತೆಯನ್ನು ಸೂಚಿಸಿದರೆ ಕೆಂಪು ಬಣ್ಣ ಕ್ರಾಂತಿಯ ಸಂದೇಶ ಸಾರುತ್ತದೆ.

ಆರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ತಯಾರಿಸಿದ್ದ ಕನ್ನಡ ಬಾವುಟದ ಮಧ್ಯೆ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಭೂಪಟ ಮತ್ತು ಅದರ ನಡುವಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಏಳು ಕವಲುಗಳನ್ನೊಳಗೊಂಡ ತೆನೆಯ ಚಿತ್ರವಿತ್ತು. ಆದರೆ ಇದನ್ನು ಮುದ್ರಿಸಲು ಕಷ್ಟವಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅದನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದು ಕೇವಲ ಹಳದಿ ಮತ್ತು ಕೆಂಪು ಬಣ್ಣವನ್ನು ಮಾತ್ರ ಉಳಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಯಿತು.

ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವವು ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯ ರಚನೆಯ ನೆನಪಿಗಾಗಿ ವಾರ್ಷಿಕ ಆಚರಣೆಯಾಗಿದೆ. 1956 ರಲ್ಲಿ ಇಂದಿನ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನು ರೂಪಿಸಲು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕನ್ನಡ ಮಾತನಾಡುವ ಪ್ರದೇಶಗಳನ್ನು ಏಕೀಕರಿಸಿದ ದಿನವನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸುವ ದಿನವನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿ ವರ್ಷ ನವೆಂಬರ್ 1 ರಂದು ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.

ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವದ ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಮಹತ್ವದ ಅಂಶವೆಂದರೆ ಕನ್ನಡ ಭಾಷೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಯ ಪ್ರಚಾರ. ಭಾಷಾ ವೈವಿಧ್ಯತೆಯನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸಲು ಮತ್ತು ಜೀವನದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಅಂಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡದ ಬಳಕೆಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಿಸಲು ವಿವಿಧ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಇದು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಶ್ರೀಮಂತ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಪರಂಪರೆಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿಬಿಂಬಿಸುವ ಮತ್ತು ಭಾಷಾ ಸಾಮರಸ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ವೈವಿಧ್ಯತೆಯನ್ನು ಉತ್ತೇಜಿಸುವ ದಿನವಾಗಿದೆ.

ಕನ್ನಡ ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವವು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಜನರು ಏಕತೆಯ ಉತ್ಸಾಹದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಗ್ಗೂಡಲು ಮತ್ತು ಅವರನ್ನು ಬಂಧಿಸುವ ಹಂಚಿಕೆಯ ಇತಿಹಾಸ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಯನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸುವ ದಿನವಾಗಿದೆ. ಇದು ನಾಗರಿಕರಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಮ್ಮೆ ಮತ್ತು ದೇಶಭಕ್ತಿಯ ಭಾವನೆಯನ್ನು ಹುಟ್ಟುಹಾಕುತ್ತದೆ. ಅವರ ರಾಜ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರಿದ ಬಲವಾದ ಭಾವನೆಯನ್ನು ಬೆಳೆಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಒಟ್ಟಾರೆಯಾಗಿ ಈ ಆಚರಣೆಯು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ವೈವಿಧ್ಯಮಯತೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಮರಸ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಾಗಿದೆ, ಅದರ ಅನನ್ಯ ಗುರುತು ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಶ್ರೀಮಂತಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರದರ್ಶಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.

ನಾಡಿನ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಜನತೆಗೆ ಕನ್ನಡ ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವದ ಹಾರ್ದಿಕ ಶುಭಾಷಯಗಳು. ಕನ್ನಡ ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವ ಅಥವಾ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವ, ಇದು ಕರುನಾಡಿನ ಸ್ವಾಭಿಮಾನದ ಸಂಕೇತಾವಾಗಿದೆ. 

ಕನ್ನಡ ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವವನ್ನು ನವೆಂಬರ್ 1 ರಂದು ನಾಡಿನೆಲ್ಲೆಡೆ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ವಿಜ್ರಂಬಣೆಯಿಂದ ಆಚರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. 

ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಭಾರತದ ಎಲ್ಲ ಕನ್ನಡ ಭಾಷೆ ಮಾತನಾಡುವ ಪ್ರದೇಶಗಳನ್ನು ವಿಲೀನಗೊಳಿಸಿ ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನಾಗಿ ರಚಿಸಿದ ಈ ದಿನದ ನೆನಪಿಗಾಗಿ ಆಚರಿಸುವ ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವದಂದು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಾದ್ಯಂತ ಅನೇಕ ಶಾಲೆಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಸಂಸ್ತೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಕನ್ನಡ ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವದ ಕುರಿತ ಪ್ರಬಂಧ, ಭಾಷಣ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆಗಳನ್ನು ಏರ್ಪಡಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಈ ದಿನ ವಿವಿಧ ಸಾಂಸ್ಕ್ರಾತಿಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಸಹ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. 

ರಾಜ್ಯ ರಚನೆಯಾದಾಗ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕವು 19 ರಾಜ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಒಳಗೊಂಡಿತ್ತು. ಕನ್ನಡ ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವವನ್ನು ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರೂ ಯಾವುದೇ ಧರ್ಮ, ಜಾತಿ, ಲಿಂಗ ಭೇದವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಆಚರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಈ ದಿನದಂಡು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯ ದ್ವಜವನ್ನು ಹಾರಿಸುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಮತ್ತು ಕನ್ನಡ ನಾಡಗೀತೆಯಾದ ಜಯ ಭಾರತ ಜನನಿಯ ತನುಜಾತೆಯನ್ನು ಹಾಡುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಆಚರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. 

ಈ ದಿನದಂದು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರ್ಕಾರವು ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗೆ ಕೊಡುಗೆ ನೀಡಿದ ವಿವಿದ ಜನರನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಗಳನ್ನು ನೀಡುತ್ತದೆ. 

ನಾವು ನಮ್ಮ ಕನ್ನಡದ ಸುಗ್ಗಿಯನ್ನು ಕೇವಲ ನವೆಂಬರ್ ತಿಂಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲದೆ ಪ್ರತಿ ದಿನ ಆಚರಿಸಬೇಕು. ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬರು ಕನ್ನಡ ಬಳಸಿ ಕನ್ನಡವನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸೋಣ.

Kannada Rajyotsava Celebrations

The prime event of the 66th Kannada Rajyotsava was held on the 13th of November 2021 at Alliance University jointly organized by Kannada Language Center, Department of Language and Literature and Dept. of Student Support Services.

Many competitions were held for students, teaching and non-teaching staff of the University including essay competition, speech competition and music competition.

The event was inaugurated by the Pro-Chancellor and the Vice-Chancellor by hoisting the flag and garlanding Kannada goddess  Bhuvaneshwari at 9:00 AM. The state anthem – Nadageethe was sung on the occasion.

The main event of the Kannada Rajyotsava was held from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm that afternoon. Dr. Vivekanand Sajjan, Assistant Professor - Department of Languages and Literature explained the background of the Kannada Rajyotsava celebration and discussed the great heritage of Kannada literature and poetry and the ideas of Universal values among the Kannada poets.

Prof. Asharani N. R welcomed guests who arrived at the event. The lighting of the lamp was initiated by the dignitaries. Students presented a welcome dance.

Mr. Abhay Chebbi, Pro-Chancellor of Alliance University expressed his views on the magnificent heritage and grandeur of Karnataka. He opines that Kannada flag is an indication of peace and reassurance and a sign of Kannada identity.

Talking about Karnataka he opined that from growing coffee in Malnad to the information technology sector, state is being considered as fore runner.

He also recalled that first Radio City FM station was established in Bengaluru.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Punith Cariappa, Pro Vice-Chancellor of the University, emphasized the need to preserve and nurture Kannada consciousness. She said that we must keep the consciousness of Kannada language alive by studying and incorporating Kannada poetry into our lives by reciting the songs that proclaim the importance of the land of Karnataka such as Barisu Kannada Dindima, Hesaraithu Karnataka and so on.

Mr. Raghavendra Hegde, sand art artist of international fame, presented his varied sand art. He discussed the specialty of sand art. Literary and cultural programs were held by the students and staff of Alliance University. Dr. Anubha Singh, Vice-Chancellor, Alliance University distributed prizes to the students who won various competitions held on the occasion of Kannada Rajyotsava.

Alliance University has always been working to preserve and develop Kannada consciousness besides representing the diverse culture of the country. In this regard Kannada Rajyotsava was celebrated with great pomp this year as every year.

ಅಲಯನ್ಸ್‌ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಕನ್ನಡ ಭಾಷಾ ಕೇಂದ್ರ, ಭಾಷೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ವಿಭಾಗ, ಹಾಗೂ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ಬೆಂಬಲ ಸೇವೆಗಳ ವಿಭಾಗದ ವತಿಯಿಂದ ೬೬ನೇ ಕನ್ನಡ ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವದ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಸಮಾರಂಭವನ್ನು ೧೩/೧೧/೨೦೨೧ರಂದು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ವಿಜೃಂಭಣೆಯಿಂದ ಹಮ್ಮಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗಿತ್ತು.

೦೩/೧೧/೨೦೨೧ರಿಂದ ೧೨/೧೧/೨೦೨೧ರವರೆಗೆ ಕನ್ನಡ ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವದ ಪ್ರಯುಕ್ತ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗಾಗಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಬೋಧಕ-ಬೋಧಕೇತರ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ವರ್ಗದವರಿಗಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಬಂಧ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆ, ಭಾಷಣ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆ, ಸಂಗೀತ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆಗಳು ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಹಲವು ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹಮ್ಮಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗಿತ್ತು.

೧೩/೧೧/೨೦೨೧ರಂದು ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಮ್ಮಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗಿದ್ದ ಕನ್ನಡ ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಸಮಾರಂಭವನ್ನು ಸಹ-ಕುಲಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಅಭಯ ಚೆಬ್ಬಿ ಅವರು ಹಾಗೂ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಕುಲಪತಿಗಳಾದ ಡಾ.ಅನುಭಾ ಸಿಂಗ್‌ ಅವರು ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ ೦೯:೦೦ ಗಂಟೆಗೆ ಕನ್ನಡ ಧ್ವಜಾರೋಹಣವನ್ನು ನೆರವೇರಿಸಿ ತಾಯಿ ಭುವನೇಶ್ವರಿಗೆ ಪುಷ್ಪನಮನವನ್ನು ಸಲ್ಲಿಸುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಚಾಲನೆ ನೀಡಿದರು. ಆ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾಡಗೀತೆಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತಪಡಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.

ಕನ್ನಡ ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವದ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಸಮಾರಂಭವನ್ನು ಅಂದು ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನ ೨:೦೦ ಗಂಟೆಯಿಂದ ೫:೦೦ ಗಂಟೆಯವರೆಗೆ ಹಮ್ಮಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಕುರಿತು ಪ್ರಾಸ್ತಾವಿಕವಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಸಂಯೋಜಕರು ಹಾಗೂ ಭಾಷೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಹಾಯಕ ಪ್ರಾಧ್ಯಾಪಕರಾದ ಡಾ. ವಿವೇಕಾನಂದ ಸಜ್ಜನ ಅವರು ಕನ್ನಡ ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವ ಆಚರಣೆಯ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯನ್ನು ವಿವರಿಸಿದ್ದಲ್ಲದೆ, ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯದ ಹಾಗೂ ಕವಿಗಳ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ ಪರಂಪರೆ ಹಾಗೂ ವಿಶ್ವ ಮೌಲಿಕವಾದ ವಿಚಾರಗಳ ಕುರಿತು ಚರ್ಚಿಸಿದರು.

ಪ್ರೊ. ಆಶಾರಾಣಿ ಎನ್. ಆರ್‌ ಅವರು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ಆಗಮಿಸಿದ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿದರು. ಜ್ಯೋತಿ ಬೆಳಗಿಸುವುದರ ಮೂಲಕ ಗಣ್ಯರು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ಚಾಲನೆ ನೀಡಿದರು. ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಸ್ವಾಗತ ನೃತ್ಯವನ್ನು ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತಪಡಿಸಿದರು. ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನುದ್ದೇಶಿಸಿ ಹಿತ ನುಡಿಗಳನ್ನಾಡಿದ ಅಲಯನ್ಸ್‌ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಸಹ-ಕುಲಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಅಭಯ ಚೆಬ್ಬಿ ಅವರು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಭವ್ಯ ಪರಂಪರೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಹಿರಿಮೆ ಗರಿಮೆಯ ಕುರಿತು ತಮ್ಮ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯವನ್ನು ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು. ಕನ್ನಡ ಬಾವುಟವು ಶಾಂತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಧೈರ್ಯದ ಪ್ರತೀಕವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರ ಅಸ್ಮಿತೆಯ ಸಂಕೇತವಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಪ್ರತಿಪಾದಿಸಿದರು.

ಮಲೆನಾಡಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಫಿ ಬೆಳೆಯುವುದರಿಂದ ಹಿಡಿದು ಮಾಹಿತಿ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದವರೆಗೆ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕವು ಮುಂಚೂಣಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮುನ್ನುಗ್ಗುತ್ತಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ಚರ್ಚಿಸಿದ ಅವರು ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮೊದಲ ಎಫ್. ಎಂ ರೇಡಿಯೋ ಸಿಟಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸ್ಥಾಪಿತವಾಗಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಸ್ಮರಿಸಿದರು.

ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನುದ್ದೇಶಿಸಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಸಹ -ಕುಲಪತಿಗಳಾದ ಡಾ.ಪುನೀತ್‌ ಕಾರಿಯಪ್ಪ ಅವರು ಕನ್ನಡ ಪ್ರಜ್ಞೆಯನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸಿ ಬೆಳೆಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಬೇಕಾದ ಅಗತ್ಯತೆಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿಪಾದಿಸಿದರು. ಬಾರಿಸು ಕನ್ನಡ ಡಿಂಡಿಮವ, ಹೆಸರಾಯಿತು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ, ಉಸಿರಾಗಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ಮೊದಲಾದ ನಾಡಿನ ಮಹತ್ವವನ್ನು ಸಾರುವ ಗೀತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸ್ಮರಿಸುವುದರ ಮೂಲಕ ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯದ ಕವಿ ವಾಣಿಗಳನ್ನು ಅಧ್ಯಯನ ಮಾಡುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಹಾಗೂ ನಮ್ಮ ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಳವಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಮೂಲಕ ನಾವು ಕನ್ನಡತನದ ಪ್ರಜ್ಞೆಯನ್ನು ಸದಾ ಜಾಗೃತವಾಗಿರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿರಬೇಕಾಗುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ಪ್ರತಿಪಾದಿಸಿದರು.

ಅಂತರ್‌ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಖ್ಯಾತಿಯ ಮರಳು ಕಲೆಯ ಕಲಾಕಾರರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಘವೇಂದ್ರ ಹೆಗಡೆ ಅವರು ವೈವಿಧ್ಯಮಯವಾದ ತಮ್ಮ ಮರಳು ಕಲೆಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತಪಡಿಸಿದರು. ಮರಳು ಕಲೆಯ ವಿಶೇಷತೆಯನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ಚರ್ಚಿಸಿದರು.

ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು, ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ವರ್ಗದವರಿಂದ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯಿಕ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳು ಜರುಗಿದವು. ಕನ್ನಡ ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವದ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಹಮ್ಮಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗಿದ್ದ ವಿವಿಧ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಜೇತರಾದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಕುಲಪತಿಗಳಾದ ಡಾ.ಅನುಭಾ ಸಿಂಗ್‌ ಅವರು ಬಹುಮಾನಗಳನ್ನು ವಿತರಿಸಿದರು. ದೇಶದ ವೈವಿಧ್ಯಮಯ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿಸುವುದರ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಕನ್ನಡ ಪ್ರಜ್ಞೆಯನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸಿ ಬೆಳೆಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುವ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಅಲಯನ್ಸ್‌ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯವು ಯಾವತ್ತಿಗೂ ಕೂಡ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಬರುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಆ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರತಿ ವರ್ಷದಂತೆ ಈ ವರ್ಷವೂ ಸಹ ಕನ್ನಡ ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವ ಸಮಾರಂಭವನ್ನು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ವಿಜೃಂಭಣೆಯಿಂದ ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.

ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯ ರಚನೆಯ ಸ್ಮರಣಾರ್ಥವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರತಿ ವರ್ಷ ನವೆಂಬರ್ 1 ರಂದು ಕನ್ನಡ ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವವನ್ನು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಚನೆ ದಿನ ಎಂದೂ ಕರೆಯುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಇದು ತಮ್ಮ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಹುಟ್ಟು ಮತ್ತು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕನ್ನಡ ಮಾತನಾಡುವ ಪ್ರದೇಶಗಳ ಏಕೀಕರಣವನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸುವುದರಿಂದ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಇದು ಮಹತ್ವದ ದಿನವಾಗಿದೆ.

1956 ರಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ದಿನ, ಮೈಸೂರು ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಎಂದು ಮರುನಾಮಕರಣ ಮಾಡಲಾಯಿತು ಮತ್ತು ಭಾರತೀಯ ಒಕ್ಕೂಟದೊಳಗೆ ಸ್ವಾಯತ್ತ ರಾಜ್ಯವಾಯಿತು. ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಮರುನಾಮಕರಣವು ಕನ್ನಡ ಮಾತನಾಡುವ ಜನಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯ ಭಾಷಾ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಆಶಯಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿಸುವ ಮಹತ್ವದ ಘಟನೆಯಾಗಿದೆ.

ಭಾರತದ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕವು ಶ್ರೀಮಂತ ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಪರಂಪರೆ, ವೈವಿಧ್ಯಮಯ ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಐತಿಹಾಸಿಕ ಮಹತ್ವಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಹೆಸರುವಾಸಿಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಹೊಯ್ಸಳರು, ಚಾಲುಕ್ಯರು ಮತ್ತು ವಿಜಯನಗರ ಸಾಮ್ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಹಲವಾರು ರಾಜವಂಶಗಳು ಈ ಪ್ರದೇಶದ ಮೇಲೆ ಆಳ್ವಿಕೆ ನಡೆಸುವುದರೊಂದಿಗೆ ರಾಜ್ಯವು ಅದ್ಭುತವಾದ ಗತಕಾಲವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದೆ.

ನವೆಂಬರ್ 1 ರಂದು ಕನ್ನಡ ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವ ದಿನವನ್ನು ನಿರಂತರವಾಗಿ ಶ್ಲಾಘಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಕರ್ನಾಟಕವನ್ನು ಈ ದಿನದಂದು ರೂಪಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ, ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಈ ದಿನವನ್ನು ಕನ್ನಡ ದಿನ, ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಚನೆ ದಿನ ಅಥವಾ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ದಿನ ಎಂದು ಕರೆಯಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವವು ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಪರಿಚಯವನ್ನು ಸೂಚಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. 1956 ರಲ್ಲಿ, ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ಮಾತನಾಡುವ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಪ್ರದೇಶವನ್ನು ಬೆರೆಸಿ ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನು ರಚಿಸಲಾಯಿತು, ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಭಾಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂವಹನವು ಕನ್ನಡವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಈ ದಿನವನ್ನು ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸಂದರ್ಭವೆಂದು ಉಚ್ಚರಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳು ಕನ್ನಡ ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವ ದಿನವನ್ನು ಅಸಾಧಾರಣ ವೈಭವದಿಂದ ಆಚರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವ ದಿನವನ್ನು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯದಾದ್ಯಂತ ಬಹಳ ಸಂತೋಷ ಮತ್ತು ಉತ್ಸಾಹದಿಂದ ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ರಾಜ್ಯದಾದ್ಯಂತ ವಿವಿಧ ಆಯಕಟ್ಟಿನ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಂಪು ಮತ್ತು ಹಳದಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ಧ್ವಜಗಳನ್ನು ಹಾರಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಕನ್ನಡ ಗೀತೆ (“ಜಯ ಭಾರತ ಜನನಿಯ ತನುಜಾತೆ”) ಮೊಳಗುವುದರಿಂದ ಇಡೀ ರಾಜ್ಯವು ಈ ದಿನದಂದು ಹಬ್ಬದ ನೋಟವನ್ನು ಧರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. 

ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಪದದ ಮೂಲದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಅನೇಕ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯಗಳಿದ್ದರೂ, ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯವಾಗಿ “ಕರುನಾಡು” ಪದವು “ಉನ್ನತ ಭೂಮಿ” ಅಂದರೆ “ಕರು” ಮತ್ತು “ನಾಡು” ಎಂಬ ಪದದಿಂದ ಬಂದಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಕರು ಕಪ್ಪಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ, ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನು ಬಯಲು ಸೀಮೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಣುವ ಕಪ್ಪು ಹತ್ತಿ ಮಣ್ಣು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಬ್ರಿಟಿಷರ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೃಷ್ಣಾ ನದಿಯ ಎರಡೂ ಬದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಜಲರಾಶಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಅಥವಾ ಕರ್ನಾಟಿಕ್ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಬಳಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿತ್ತು.

ಆಲೂರು ವೆಂಕಟರಾವ್ ಅವರು 1905 ರಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಏಕೀಕರಣ ಚಳುವಳಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನು ಏಕೀಕರಣಗೊಳಿಸುವ ಕನಸು ಕಂಡ ಮೊದಲ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ. 1950 ರಲ್ಲಿ, ಭಾರತವು ಗಣರಾಜ್ಯವಾಯಿತು ಮತ್ತು ನಿರ್ದಿಷ್ಟ ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತನಾಡುವ ಭಾಷೆಯ ಆಧಾರದ ಮೇಲೆ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿವಿಧ ಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ರಚಿಸಲಾಯಿತು ಮತ್ತು ಇದು ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಭಾರತದ ವಿವಿಧ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳನ್ನು ಒಳಗೊಂಡಂತೆ ಮೈಸೂರು ರಾಜ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಜನ್ಮ ನೀಡಿತು, ಇದನ್ನು ಮೊದಲು ರಾಜರು ಆಳಿದರು.

ಕರ್ನಾಟಕವನ್ನು ನಾಲ್ಕು ಭಾಗಗಳಾಗಿ ವಿಂಗಡಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ – ಮೈಸೂರು ರಾಜ್ಯ, ಮುಂಬೈ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ, ಹೈದರಾಬಾದ್ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಮತ್ತು ಮದ್ರಾಸ್ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ. ಈ ಎಲ್ಲ ಭಾಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ಮಾತನಾಡುವವರಿಗೆ ಮನ್ನಣೆ ಇದೆ. ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಬಹುಸಂಖ್ಯಾತ ಪ್ರದೇಶಗಳನ್ನು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರಿಸುವ ಪ್ರಕ್ರಿಯೆ ಭರದಿಂದ ಸಾಗಿದೆ. ಸುತ್ತಮುತ್ತಲಿನ ರಾಜ್ಯಗಳ ಕನ್ನಡ ರಾಜ್ಯಗಳು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಲೀನಗೊಂಡವು. ಅಂತಿಮವಾಗಿ 1956ರಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಏಕೀಕರಣವಾಯಿತು. ಕನ್ನಡ ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವವೂ ಶುರು ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಹೆಸರು ಮೈಸೂರು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಮೊದಲ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿ ಮೈಸೂರು ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನು ಆಧರಿಸಿತ್ತು. ಮೈಸೂರು ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನು 1973 ರಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಎಂದು ಮರುನಾಮಕರಣ ಮಾಡಲಾಯಿತು.

ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ತನ್ನದೇ ಆದ ವಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಭಾವನೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದೆ. ಕನಕಾಂಬರದ ಅಗತ್ಯವನ್ನು ಅರಿತ ಕನ್ನಡ ಹೋರಾಟಗಾರ ಎಂ ರಾಮಮೂರ್ತಿ ಹಳದಿ, ಕೆಂಪು ಬಳಸಿ ಧ್ವಜ ಸಿದ್ಧಪಡಿಸಿದರು. ಮೂಲತಃ ಹಳದಿ ಬಣ್ಣವು ಕನ್ನಡಾಂಬೆಯ ಸೆಳವು ಮತ್ತು ಕುಂಕುಮವನ್ನು ಸೂಚಿಸುತ್ತದೆ, ಆದರೆ ಹಳದಿ ಶಾಂತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಮರಸ್ಯವನ್ನು ಸೂಚಿಸುತ್ತದೆ, ಆದರೆ ಕೆಂಪು ಕ್ರಾಂತಿಯನ್ನು ಸೂಚಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಆರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ಧ್ವಜ ಸಿದ್ಧವಾದಾಗ ಧ್ವಜದ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ನಕ್ಷೆ ಮತ್ತು ಏಳು ಕಡೆ ಟೀ ಇತ್ತು. ಮುದ್ರಿಸಲು ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಕಷ್ಟವಾದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅದನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದು ಹಳದಿ ಮತ್ತು ಕೆಂಪು ಮಾತ್ರ ಉಳಿದಿದೆ.

 ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರ್ಕಾರದಿಂದ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವದ ದಿನದಂದು ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು. ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರ್ಕಾರದಿಂದ ನೀಡಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿಗಳು ಸಾಧುಗಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ವಿತರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಮುಂಬೈ ಮತ್ತು ದೆಹಲಿಯಂತಹ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಇತರ ಭಾಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವವನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವವನ್ನು ಕನ್ನಡ ಕಂಪನಿಗಳು, ಯುಎಸ್, ಸಿಂಗಾಪುರ್, ದುಬೈ, ಮಸ್ಕತ್, ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಕೊರಿಯಾ, ಆಸ್ಟ್ರೇಲಿಯಾ, ನ್ಯೂಜಿಲೆಂಡ್, ಸ್ಕಾಟ್ಲೆಂಡ್ ಮತ್ತು ಐರ್ಲೆಂಡ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವ ಆಚರಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮ್ಮೆಲ್ಲರ ಪಾತ್ರ ಮಹತ್ವದ್ದು. ನಾಡು-ನುಡಿ, ನಾಡು-ನುಡಿ ಸಂಪತ್ತನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸಿ, ಮುಂದಿನ ಪೀಳಿಗೆಗೆ ಉಳಿಸುವ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಯೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲಿದೆ. ಇದರಿಂದ ದೂರ ಸರಿಯುವುದು ನಮ್ಮ ಕರ್ತವ್ಯವೂ ಹೌದು.

• Karnataka Rajyotsava Day Celebrations at school.

Karnataka Rajyotsava is celebrated on 1 November of every year. This was the day in 1956 when all the Kannada language-speaking regions of South India were merged to form the state of Karnataka.  

We held the Karnataka Rajyotsava Day Program at school today with  our senior teacher Mr. Tenzin Dawa la gave a speech on the importance of the Day. The Headmaster of the school Mr. Penpa Sangpo also spoke on the day and expressed the warmest greetings to our brothers and sisters of the Karanataka State on behalf of all the students and staff members of Sera Je Secondary School. There was speech from the students and the program proceeded with some wonderful programs from the students.

This state and the people of Karanataka had been very very kind to us and we are very grateful and thankful to you all.

Kannada Rajyotsava Celebration

Kannada is one of the major Dravidian languages of India, spoken predominantly in the southern state of Karnataka. It is the 27th most spoken language in the world, with native speakers called Kannadigas. It is one of the Official languages of India and the official and administrative language of the state of Karnataka. People celebrate Kannada Rajyotsava by hoisting the Karnataka State flag (red and yellow) and chanting the Kannada anthem (Jaya BharathaJananiyaTanujate). The Government of Karnataka announces Rajyotsava awards, which are awarded on this day.

The students were self-stirred to take part in the events organised by the school, they took part in reciting the slogans or quotes of the Jnanapeeta awardees, Mono-acting, enactment of famous personalities of Karnataka, reciting Vachana, Daasara pada, poems of Modern and Captive poets. The parents offered their full support. The wonderful programme ended with great respect to the state which we live in.
