Highway movie review: Anand Deverakonda's serial killer film tortures you more than the killer his victims

Highway movie review: kv guhan’s serial killer film starring anand deverakonda and abhishek banerjee is illogical, bland, and lackluster in every way conceivable..

There is a scene in KV Guhan’s thriller Highway, where the serial killer D ( Abhishek Banerjee in his Tollywood debut) tapes his victim’s eyes open so that they can witness their own torture. Frankly, watching the film for two hours felt a lot like that--tortured, painful, and waiting for it to end. Highway is a simple film with a promising premise, which falters so badly in execution that you wonder how one can make such a lackluster film with a decent plot and good actors. Highway, set in the outskirts of Hyderabad, introduces us to photographer Vishnu (Anand Deverakonda), who is travelling to Bangalore for an event. Along the way, he helps a runaway teenager named Tulasi, who needs to get to her estranged father. A parallel track sees police officer Asha Bharath (Saiyami Kher) hunting a dangerous serial killer, who has killed five women and is on the hunt for more. How these two stories converge and Vishnu finds himself in a dangerous situation forms the crux of the film.

As I said, an interesting premise but it all goes downhill from here. The plot has more holes in it than a kitchen sieve, the acting is either monotonous or over-the-top (there’s no middle ground), and the background music is a serious assault on the senses. The comedy is so cringeworthy, sexist and forced that it often feels like you are watching something from the 90s.

It seems the makers and writers of the film have never met real people or observed how real people behave. Because in this film, everybody behaves as illogically as possible, as if it’s a stupidity contest. Cops can’t see an obvious clue dangling in front of their eyes, the killer tries his best to behave like a killer at every possible moment without any worry about getting caught, and women disregard safety while a serial killer is on the loose. I stopped noticing logical flaws halfway into the film because it was hard to keep up by then.

The film lacks finesse and subtlety, with every character repeating what is happening on the screen just so that the audience do not miss it. It is like hammering a nail that is already all the way inside the wall. It’s redundant and infuriating. But is there anything redeeming in Highway? Abhishek Banerjee, of course! The Pataal Lok-fame actor has been handed an undercooked and unidimensional character with no coherent back story and he still manages to do something special with it. He is menacing, scary, and at times, even fun to watch. Everyone else falls flat sadly. Saiyami Kher, normally a reliable performer, has been reduced to just standing at crime scenes exasperated. She and her character both deserve better. Anand Deverokonda is lackluster and frankly looks like a cardboard cutout at times. Manasa Radhakrishnan tries to play the part of a hapless, innocent teenager to the best of her abilities. But sadly, the script and direction do not help her much in the process.

Highway began streaming on Aha Telugu from Friday, August 19, and frankly it is a good choice that the film chose not to release in theatres. On OTT, it may find some audience. But it’s hard to see why anyone would voluntarily watch this film. It’s a cautionary tale on how not to approach an interesting subject. Watch it only if you are prepared to be disappointed in more ways than you can count.

What’s it about?

Krishna Dev, also known as KD (Adivi Sesh), is a police officer in Vizag who takes on a murder case. His group unearths the mutilated body of Sanjana, a girl working in a pub. The murderer also killed three other women in addition to Sanjana, as KD and his team soon discover through their investigation.

As he gets closer to the serial killer in his investigation, he puts the life of his girlfriend (Meenakshii) in danger. Will KD be able to identify the real murderer? Can he rescue her from the serial killer’s clutches?

“HIT” refers to the Homicide Intervention Team. The first instalment, starring Vishwak Sen, took place in Hyderabad and focused on the disappearance of a young woman (Telangana). HIT 2, the sequel, is set in Vizag, Andhra Pradesh, and opens with the murder of a young woman. Adivi Sesh, who has become the standard bearer for high-quality thrillers in Telugu cinema, stars in the sequel.

The story of “HIT 2” is standard fare for the genre and features some surprises as well. The prologue and the serial murders are established early on in the story’s first act. The prologue keeps the audience guessing until the end to see how they (the main killings and the first scene) are related. Sailesh Kolanu, the film’s director, makes shrewd use of this narrative device to maintain interest and polishes it to perfection.

Who did it, and why did it happen? These are the central questions at the heart of any good thriller. The first part focuses on the hero’s investigation into who committed the murders. In the final act, we learn the killer’s motivation and background. While the film’s first murderer may be obvious to some viewers, the director manages to keep them guessing until the film’s climactic third act.

The cinematic universe that this franchise needs is also created by Sailesh Kolanu. There are connections between Vishwak Sen’s case (the first part) and the current murder case. This ingenious combination (like Lokesh Kanagaraju did with ‘Vikram’ by including references to ‘Khaidi) is what makes the film so engaging.

With the aspect of extrajudicial killing, the thriller takes an intriguing turn midway through.

As has been mentioned, Sailesh Kolanu largely sticks to the conventions of the genre and also includes the standard red herrings. Despite some dull parts—like the romance between Meenakshi and Adivi Sesh or the interactions between Adivi Sesh and the media—his tightly focused narrative helps the film reach its target.

Aspects of this thriller may be predictable for those who watched a lot of thrillers and serial killer movies on OTT during the pandemic. However, they do not significantly dilute the film’s strength.

Despite the genre and plot constraints, director Sailesh and lead actor Adivi Sesh manage to keep us interested. Adivi Sesh is fantastic in the role of detective. He’s a natural fit for the part. He is a pro at playing such roles.

Actors Suhaas and Komalee stand out among the rest. Meenakshii, the film’s heroine, is a flat character. And so is Rao Ramesh.

Cinematographer Manikandan’s competent work and editor Garry’s sharp cuts help the film immensely. As an added bonus, the score in the background works wonderfully.

As a writer and director Kolanu shows his mark. The film also ends with the reveal about the third part.

Bottom-line: Overall, “Hit 2” is a neat investigation thriller that makes good use of common conventions in the genre. Despite minor issues, the movie is engaging all the way through. Once again, Adivi Sesh shows his mark. And the franchise continues.

Rakshasudu is the remake of Tamil film Ratsasan. Having seen the original film that came out last year, I did not expect the film to affect me as much as it did the first time. I thought my familiarity with the story and film should make me immune to its gut-wrenching horror. But the second viewing was a bone-chilling experience and disturbing, to say the least.

The story beings with Arun (Bellamkonda Sreenivas) dreaming about becoming a film director. When he wakes up, he’s still an assistant director, on the lookout for a producer to fund his film on a serial killer. After years of struggle, Arun gives in to family pressure and takes up a job with the police department.

Soon after he joins the force, a mysterious kidnapping case begins to haunt Hyderbad cops. With bare minimum clues, Arun comes up with a theory. He tells his senior police officer Lakshmi (Suzane George), that it looks like a serial killer is on the prowl. An egoistic Lakshmi brushes him aside as she thinks he’s overstepping boundaries. Now, Arun has to tackle the tantrums of his superior, while trying to catch the killer.

Rakshasudu (monster) invokes our primal fear and that’s the reason why the film gets to us harder than the first time. The film is not only about the killings of a repressed and insane person. It is mainly about a toxic environment where women can’t live their lives in peace. The psycho killer on the loose is not the only threat to the safety of young girls here. A teacher who uses his position of power to exploit his students. An amoral auto-rickshaw driver who helps one of his regular passengers to target girls. A self-centred top cop who puts her needs above the lives of innocents. And parents, who can’t digest the fact that their children struggle to score in maths, have all contributed in some way in the sufferings of the victims.

The student would have stood up to her abusive teacher if the parents had given her confidence that she won’t be treated with contempt if she failed in her maths test. The victim must have feared her parents more than her creepy teacher, which made her vulnerable to sexual abuse. Another girl escapes from the clutches of a predator only to run into the arms of another predator. Women in this film are constantly under threat. It is just a game called which-predator-gets to-the-victims-first.

Director Ramesh Varma has been very loyal to the material and vision of his compatriot Ram Kumar while making the Telugu remake. It is an almost frame to frame remake as Varma has even matched the camera angles and movements with the original film. The Telugu remake could have avoided the mistakes of the Tamil film, especially a melody number in the middle of a high-stake situation is so illogical.

Bellamkonda Srinivas has released many movies in the last five years but he has not scored a big hit. He has now attempted new genre to get noticed from the urban audiences.

Let’s find out whether he has succeeded in this image makeover?

Story: In Hyderabad city, a school girl is murdered. Then some more murders happen. A rookie police officer Arun (Bellamkonda Srinivas) suspects that a sociopath is behind these killings.

His theory and his method of investigation gets admonished by his higher officer but he continues to search for the killer. He turns obsessive with the case when a personal loss happens.

And what is the final twist and who is the real killer?

Artistes’ Performances: This is second time that Bellamkonda Srinivas is playing police officer’s role after ‘Kavacham’. However, this time he has played the role with a more subdued approach. This is his better act among all his movies.

Anupama Parameshwaran as his lover is neat. Rajeev Kanakala gets meaty role after a long time. All the other actors including Saravanan have played their parts well.

Technical Excellence: These kind of movies click only when the technical output is perfect. Musical background score by Ghibran and the sound design have actually elevated the movie. The sound is terrific. Production values are perfect.

Drawback: Extremely Violent Runtime

Analysis Remake of a Tamil movie “Ratsasan”, Ramesh Varma directed “Rakshasudu” is faithful to the original movie. It is as gripping as the original Tamil movie.

The good part is that the Telugu makers have not spoiled it, nor they have altered the original movie. It is like a scene to scene replica. This actually has worked in its favor.

Since we have seen Bellamkonda Srinivas in mind-less action dramas, it is a welcome change to see him acting in a concept based story that gives more importance to the genre than catering to the hero’s action image.

Allari Ravibabu made a gripping serial-killer thriller movie called ‘Anasuya’ a decade ago. After that hardly any Telugu movie was made in this genre. This precisely has provided a novel experience. Moreover, the screenplay is quite engaging.

The movie begins in a simple manner but it picks up when the hero gets involved in the first investigation of the murder.

The pace further picks up when the hero and his team zeroes in on one school teacher suspecting him as serial killer which is quite believable and told in riveting manner.

The movie then turns a little bit melodramatic but the third act of the movie is what the film makes a riveting watch.

The serial killer’s motive is also explained in a neat way. However, the makeup for the serial killer is quite gaudy.

Despite some flaws, and weak romantic episode between hero and heroine, “Rakshasudu” doesn’t deviate from the basic thread and is focused on telling it in genre-specific way.

If you have watched the Tamil film, it may not impress you but those who watch it in Telugu for the first time, it will definitely grip you.

Bottom-line: Gripping Thriller

Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya, directed by Swaroop RSJ, impresses with its gripping narration, excellent comedy sequences, and an important social message to communicate. A completely original and compelling story that keeps the audience’s attention while also entertaining them without making them feel stupid. Agent SSA is one of the most energizing and best Telugu thriller movies on Amazon Prime if you’re seeking something new with no big personalities associated with the project.

The plot of HIT follows the compelling journey of Vikram (Vishwak Sen), an Investigative Officer who battles severe PTSD and yet works despite the detrimental effects it has on his mental health. He subsequently finds himself in a horrible condition and offers to take on the case of Preethi, a missing young girl. The rest of the story follows the many details of this thorough investigation, which has more twists and turns than the Nürburgring racetrack.

Raghavan chronicles the journey of Raghavan, a Police Officer, who embarks on a perilous trip to apprehend a serial killer pair who cruelly murdered his best friend’s daughter, Rani. It is a superb debut for both Gautham Menon and Kamal Haasan. Raghavan is an interesting movie from beginning to end thanks to well-written lines, a subtle sense of humor, strong performances from the entire cast, especially from Haasan, and remarkable camera work by Ravi Verman.

5. Anukokunda Oka Roju

Anukokunda Oka Roju, which stars Charmme Kaur as the title character, tells the story of an independent lady who becomes caught up in a weird circumstance involving a cult. This film is so much ahead of its time, with a captivating story and screenplay by Chandra Sekhar Yeleti, outstanding performances from the entire cast, and a fantastic endeavor Tollywood has never made before.

4. U Turn (2018)

Except for the slightly jarring climax, director-writer Pawan Kumar’s thriller U-Turn is an edge-of-your-seater with a controlled pace and just the proper number of twists and turns. The majority of the lead roles in Telugu thriller films over the years have been played by women. Women have typically been cast as the main characters in horror or thriller genres, dating back to the days of Charmee and Bhumika in Mantra and Anasuya and the more recent Anushka Bhagamathie.

3. Evaru (2019)

Similar to his 2016 film Kshanam, Adivi Sesh’s suspense-thriller Evaru is loosely based on the Spanish movie The Invisible Guest. In contrast to the original version, Venkat Ramji does a beautiful job of shaking things up by adapting the story while using the main ideas from the original. The complicated story is complemented by commendable performances from Regina and Sesh, and for the most part, the movie will keep you guessing and entertained.

Anurag Kashyap, a man with many abilities, portrays the nasty cat-and-mouse game that a CBI officer named Anjali (Nayanthara) engages in with a serial killer named Rudra. Every character in the movie is introduced with a backstory and given appropriate attention inside and out, even Vijay Sethupathi’s appearance. Anjali CBI is something you want to take advantage of.

Bluff Master, a sleeper hit from Satyadev Kancharna, tells the tale of Uttam, a cunning con man who preys on the defenseless to extract money from them. The situation changes, though, when he joins forces with a violent gang that manipulates him to carry out their orders.

An edge-of-the-seat thriller, the movie was raved by the critics. Exhilarating performances, terrific screenplay and breath-taking suspense made it a blockbuster. Watch it if you haven’t seen the movie!

9.  Mantra (2007)

Mantra was a sensation upon its theatrical release! A brilliant and a riveting thriller, Mantra is the story of a girl who owns a house that is rumored to be haunted. A professor agrees to buy the house if someone stays in the house for three months. A small time goon accepts to stay. A series of unraveling mysteries lead to a sensational climax that shocks the audiences. The brilliance of Mantra lied in creating the ambience that many thrillers fail to do. Watch it for its terrific screenplay and the sensational climax.

8. PSV Garuda Vega (2017)

One of the most recent movies on the list, PSV Garuda Vega shocked the audiences with its technical standards and terrific action scenes. The movie is a spy thriller starring Rajasekhar about a mission to nab a hacker who has his hands on highly classified information. Technically on par with many Hollywood thrillers, PSV Garuda Vega manages to create a Bourne-sque feel with its riveting screenplay.

7. Keshava (2017)

One of the most technically brilliant films to have come out of Telugu Cinema in the recent times! A crew bristling with youngsters and a talented star-cast brought a technically brilliant thriller about revenge and redemption. The protagonist suffering with a heart condition that does not allow him to get excited, must take his revenge at any cost!

6. Kshanam (2016)

Kshanam marked the dawn of the new-age Telugu Cinema. One of the well made-thrillers in recent times, Kshanam was critically acclaimed for its riveting screenplay. Directed by débutante Ravikanth Perepu, Kshanam is the story of a man on a mission to find a missing girl. Starring Adivi Sesh, Adah Sharma, Vennela Kishore and Satyam Rajesh, Kshanam is technically one of the technically brilliant films to have come out of Telugu Cinema.

A police officer is assigned the case, and he starts chasing the mystery. Highly re-watchable, Anveshana was directed by the veteran director Vamsy. Considered to be one of the best thrillers made in Telugu Cinema, Anveshana also features a classic Ilaiyaraaja album!

2. 1-Nenokkadine (2014)

Probably, 1- Nennokadinae is one of the most underrated movies of Indian Cinema. The movie is a brilliant, racy and an emotional ride of a rockstar who suffers from Integration disorder. Superstar Mahesh Babu excelled in the role of a man who cannot know the difference between reality and dreams. Directed by Sukumar, 1-Nennokadinae is a Hollywood notch-thriller, that stands up to its standards, and engages from beginning till end. The movie features a heart-breaking finale, and that needs to experienced than said!

1. Ave Kallu (1967)

Ave Kallu is a cult-classic in Telugu Cinema. Starring Superstar Krishna, Ave Kallu is about a family being murdered by a serial killer. A police officer is appointed to nab the killer. Famous for its Hitchcock-feel, Ave Kallu is a riveting mystery drama, armed with a stellar background score. Remade from a Tamil film, Ave Kallu went on to become a genre-defining movie of Telugu Cinema.

Abhi, Nivedha, and some of his friends take to the forest. They are having the time of their lives when one of their friends turns out to be dead.

Before they can understand what is going on, every person in the group drops dead one by one. Can Abhi crack the game before it is too late?

Star Performances

While there is not much to remember about this project, there are some acting performances from Ravikumar and Devaraj, who have tried their best to make this film at least watchable.

A crime thriller involving multiple murders, money, and a dirty secret. It makes up for a nice, compelling watch, right? Well, with ‘Midnight Killers,’ that is not the case.

Despite having a predictable plot, the movie had the potential to do wonders. But the idea, which looked impressive, faltered in execution. The camerawork in this movie is simply amateurish, which evokes any kind of interest. The editing is so haphazard, that it makes viewers wonder if they are being shown a parody.

‘Midnight Killers’ is sandwiched somewhere between being inquisitive and being absurd. Even if the plot is not bizarre, the way the makers go about narrating the story makes it look one.

The thriller factor is completely missing, despite the movie claiming to be one. There is no intensity in most of the sequences, and most of them end up being unintentionally funny.

The killer, whose mere presence should evoke fear as per the script, looks more like a clown, and by the time the actual truth comes out, most of the viewers have lost their interest in the project completely.

Is there anything good in this movie? Well, there are some actors, especially Ravikumar and Devaraj, who have attempted to salvage the sinking ship, even though without much success. The background music is okay, though it could not make up for the wafer-thin storyline.

సంజ‌న (వ‌ర‌ల‌క్ష్మి శ‌ర‌త్‌కుమార్‌) ధైర్య‌వంతురాలైన మ‌హిళ‌. పెద్ద‌ల‌ను ఎదురించి అర‌వింద్‌ను (గ‌ణేష్ వెంక‌ట్రామ‌న్‌) ప్రేమించి పెళ్లిచేసుకుంటుంది. అర‌వింద్ జీవితంలో మ‌రో అమ్మాయి ఉంద‌నే నిజం తెలిసి భ‌ర్త‌కు దూరంగా కూతురు రియాతో (బేబీ నివేక్ష‌) క‌లిసి వైజాగ్ వ‌చ్చేస్తోంది సంజ‌న‌. ఉద్యోగ ప్ర‌య‌త్నాలు చేసినా డిగ్రీ కూడా పూర్తిచేయ‌క‌పోవ‌డంతో ఎవ‌రూ ఆమెకు జాబ్ ఇవ్వ‌రు.

కాలేజీ ఫ్రెండ్ అయిన లాయ‌ర్ రాహుల్ (శ‌శాంక్‌) స‌హాయంతో జుంబా ట్రైన‌ర్‌గా ఓ జాబ్ సంపాదిస్తుంది. సంజ‌న ఆచూకీ కోసం సూర్య (మైమ్ గోపీ) అనే క్రిమిన‌ల్ వెతుకుతుంటాడు. సంజ‌న‌ వైజాగ్‌లో ఉంద‌ని తెలిసి అక్క‌డికి వ‌చ్చి ఆమెను వెంబ‌డిస్తుంటాడు. సూర్య బారి నుంచి త‌న‌తో పాటు కూతురిని కాపాడుకోవ‌డానికి పోలీస్ కంప్లైంట్ ఇస్తుంది సంజ‌న‌. పోలీసుల ఇన్వేస్టిగేష‌న్‌లో సూర్య చ‌నిపోయిన‌ట్లు తేలుతుంది. సంజ‌న‌నే మాన‌సిక స‌మ‌స్య‌తో బాధ‌ప‌డుతున్న‌ట్లు పోలీసులు నిర్ధారిస్తారు. అస‌లు సూర్య ఎవ‌రు?

అత‌డు సంజ‌న కోసం వెత‌క‌డానికి కార‌ణం ఏమిటి? సంజ‌న కూతురు రియాకు సూర్య‌కు ఉన్న సంబంధం ఏమిటి? పోలీసులు చెప్పిన‌ట్లుగా నిజంగానే సూర్య చ‌నిపోయాడా? సంజ‌న గ‌తం ఏమిటి? భ‌ర్త అర‌వింద్ నుంచి సంజ‌న ఎందుకు దూర‌మైంది? కూతురు రియాను త‌న ద‌గ్గ‌ర‌కు ర‌ప్పించేందుకు అర‌వింద్ ఏం చేశాడు? సూర్య‌, అర‌వింద్ ప‌న్నాగాల నుంచి త‌న కూతురిని సంజ‌న ఎలా కాపాడుకుంది అన్న‌దే శబరి (Sabari Review)మూవీ క‌థ‌.

త‌ల్లి పోరాటం...

త‌న కూతురిని కాపాడుకోవ‌డానికి ఓ త‌ల్లి సాగించిన పోరాటం నేప‌థ్యంలో ద‌ర్శ‌కుడు అనిల్ కాట్జ్ శ‌బ‌రి క‌థ‌ను రాసుకున్నాడు. సాధార‌ణంగా త‌ల్లీకూతుళ్ల అనుబంధం నేప‌థ్యంలో ముడిప‌డిన కథ‌లు సెంటిమెంట్ ప్ర‌ధానంగా సాగుతుంటాయి. కానీ అనిల్ కాట్జ్ మాత్రం సైక‌లాజిక‌ల్ సీట్ ఎడ్జ్ థ్రిల్ల‌ర్‌గా శ‌బ‌రి మూవీని తెర‌కెక్కించాడు.

ట్విస్ట్‌లే బ‌లం...

థ్రిల్ల‌ర్ సినిమాకు ట్విస్ట్‌లే ప్ర‌ధాన బ‌లం. క‌థ‌లోని మ‌లుపులు ఎంత బ‌లంగా ఉంటే సినిమా అంత‌గా ఆడియెన్స్‌ను థ్రిల్ చేస్తుంది. శ‌బ‌రిలో(Sabari Review) కొన్ని ట్విస్ట్‌ల‌ను స‌ర్‌ప్రైజింగ్‌గా ఆడియెన్స్ ఊహ‌ల‌కు అందకుండా రాసుకున్నాడు డైరెక్ట‌ర్‌. కూతురి కోసం త‌ల్లి ప‌డే ఆరాటం చుట్టూ స‌స్పెన్స్ డ్రామాను అల్లుకుంటూ చివ‌రి వ‌ర‌కు ఎంగేజింగ్‌గా శ‌బ‌రిని న‌డిపించారు.

సూర్య క్యారెక్ట‌ర్‌తోనే సినిమా ఇంట్రెస్టింగ్‌గా ప్రారంభ‌మ‌వుతుంది. ఆ త‌ర్వాత సంజ‌న భ‌ర్త‌కు దూరంగా కూతురితో క‌లిసి వైజాగ్ రావ‌డం, ఆమె చేసే ఉద్యోగ ప్ర‌య‌త్నాలు, చిన్న‌తంలోనే త‌ల్లికి దూర‌మై సంజన(Sabari Review) ప‌డిన ఆవేద‌న‌ చుట్టూ ఫ‌స్ట్ హాఫ్‌ను న‌డిపించారు డైరెక్ట‌ర్‌.

రియాకు, సూర్య‌కు మ‌ధ్య ఉన్న సంబంధాన్ని ఇంట‌ర్వెల్‌లో రివీల్ చేసి సెకండాఫ్‌పై క్యూరియాసిటీ. ఫ‌స్ట్ హాఫ్‌ను నెమ్మ‌దిగా న‌డిపించిన ద‌ర్శ‌కుడు సెకండాఫ్‌లో మాత్రం స్క్రీన్‌ప్లే విష‌యంలో త‌న ప‌ట్టును ప్ర‌ద‌ర్శించారు. సూర్య నుంచి కూతురిని శ‌బ‌రి కాపాడుకునే సీన్స్‌, ఈ క్ర‌మంలో సూర్య‌, శ‌బ‌రి పాత్ర‌ల‌కు సంబంధించి రివీల‌య్యే ట్విస్ట్‌లు ఆక‌ట్టుకుంటాయి.

స‌స్పెన్స్‌తో పాటు హార‌ర్ ఫీల్ క‌లిగేలా ఆ సీన్స్‌ను స్క్రీన్‌పై డెరెక్ట‌ర్ ప్ర‌జెంట్ చేశాడు. ఇంటన్స్ క్లైమాక్స్‌తో సినిమాను ఎండ్ చేశారు.

లాజిక్స్ మిస్‌...

శ‌బ‌రిలో థ్రిల్లింగ్ ఎలిమెంట్స్ కంటే డ్రామా ఎక్కువైపోవ‌డం కొన్ని చోట్ల బోర్ ఫీలింగ్‌ను క‌లిగిస్తుంది. అస‌లు క‌థ‌లోకి ఎంట్రీ కావ‌డానికి డైరెక్ట‌ర్ కాస్త టైమ్ ఎక్కువ తీసుకున్నాడు. సూర్య క్యారెక్ట‌ర్‌కు సంబంధించి వ‌చ్చే లాజిక్ అంత‌గా క‌న్వీన్సింగ్‌గా అనిపించ‌దు.

వ‌ర‌ల‌క్ష్మి వ‌న్ ఉమెన్ షో...

శ‌బ‌రి మూవీకి వ‌ర‌ల‌క్ష్మి శ‌ర‌త్ కుమార్ యాక్టింగ్ పెద్ద బ‌లం. యాక్టింగ్‌కు స్కోప్ ఉన్న ఎమోష‌న‌ల్ రోల్‌కు ఆమెను ఎంచుకోవ‌డంలో ద‌ర్శ‌కుడు సగం స‌క్సెస్ అయ్యాడు. సంజ‌న పాత్ర‌కు వ‌ర‌ల‌క్ష్మి శ‌ర‌త్‌కుమార్ పూర్తిగా న్యాయం చేసింది. కూతురిని కాపాడుకోవ‌డానికి ఆరాట‌ప‌డే త‌ల్లిగా చ‌క్క‌టి న‌ట‌న‌ను క‌న‌బ‌రిచింది.

సొసైటీలో సింగిల్ మ‌ద‌ర‌కు ఎదుర‌య్యే క‌ష్టాల‌ను ఆమె క్యారెక్ట‌ర్ ద్వారా చ‌క్క‌గా చూపించారు. పాజిటివ్‌గా క‌నిపించే నెగెటివ్ షేడ్స్ క్యారెక్ట‌ర్‌లో గ‌ణేష్ వెంక‌ట్రామ‌న్‌, విల‌న్‌గా మైమ్ గోపి మెప్పించారు.
