‘అశోకవనంలో అర్జున కల్యాణం’, ‘ఓరి దేవుడా’ చిత్రాలతో గతేడాది బాక్సాఫీస్‌ ముందు జోరు చూపించారు హీరో విష్వక్‌ సేన్‌ ( Vishwak Sen ) . ఈ ఉగాదికి ‘దాస్‌ కా ధమ్కీ’ (Das Ka Dhamki)తో ప్రేక్షకుల ముందుకొచ్చారు. ఇది ఆయనకు తొలి పాన్‌ ఇండియా చిత్రం. ఇందులో విష్వక్‌ ద్విపాత్రాభినయం చేయడమే కాకుండా స్వీయ దర్శకత్వంలో నిర్మించడం మరో విశేషం. అందుకే ఈ చిత్రంపై విడుదలకు ముందు నుంచే మంచి అంచనాలు ఏర్పడ్డాయి. దీనికి తోడు పాటలు, ప్రచార చిత్రాలు ఆకట్టుకునేలా ఉండటం.. ఈ చిత్ర ప్రీరిలీజ్‌ వేడుకకు ఎన్టీఆర్‌ ( NTR ) ముఖ్య అతిథిగా విచ్చేయడంతో ఆ అంచనాలు రెట్టింపయ్యాయి. మరి ఇన్ని అంచనాల మధ్య థియేటర్లలోకి వచ్చిన దాస్‌.. ప్రేక్షకులకు ఎలాంటి అనుభూతి అందించాడు? (Das Ka Dhamki Review) హీరోగా, దర్శకుడిగా, నిర్మాతగా ఆయన పడిన కష్టానికి తగ్గ ఫలితం లభించిందా? లేదా?

కథేంటంటే: కృష్ణదాస్‌ (విష్వక్‌ సేన్‌) అనాథ. తన మిత్రులు (హైపర్‌ ఆది, మహేష్‌)లతో కలిసి ఓ స్టార్‌ హోటల్‌లో వెయిటర్‌గా పని చేస్తుంటాడు. ఒకరోజు అదే హోటల్‌కు వచ్చిన కీర్తి (నివేదా పేతురాజ్‌)ని చూసి ప్రేమలో పడతాడు. ఆమెకు దగ్గరవ్వాలన్న ఆలోచనతో తాను వెయిటర్‌ అన్న విషయాన్ని దాచి పెట్టి.. కోటీశ్వరుడిలా నటించడం మొదలుపెడతాడు. తన పేరు సంజయ్‌ రుద్ర అని.. ఓ పెద్ద ఫార్మా కంపెనీకి సీఈవో అని అబద్దాలు చెబుతాడు. కీర్తి.. కృష్ణ ప్రేమలో పడిందనుకునే సమయంలోనే అతను కోటీశ్వరుడు కాదు వెయిటర్‌ అన్న నిజం ఆమెకు తెలుస్తుంది. దీంతో అతన్ని ఛీ కొట్టి వెళ్లిపోతుంది. ఆమె కోసం చేసిన పనుల వల్ల హోటల్‌లో ఉద్యోగాన్ని కూడా కోల్పోతాడు కృష్ణదాస్‌. అదే సమయంలో అతని జీవితంలోకి సిద్ధార్థ్‌ మల్హోత్రా (రావు రమేష్‌) ప్రవేశిస్తాడు. తను ఏ సంజయ్‌ రుద్ర పేరైతే వాడుకున్నాడో.. అతను తన అన్నయ్య కొడుకని, క్యాన్సర్‌కు మందు కనిపెట్టాడని, కానీ, అనుకోకుండా ఓ ప్రమాదంలో చనిపోయాడని చెబుతాడు. క్యాన్సర్‌ లేని ప్రపంచం చూడాలన్న సంజయ్‌ కల నెరవేరడం కోసం.. అతని కుటుంబం, వ్యాపారం రోడ్డున పడకుండా ఉండటం కోసం అతనిలా ఉన్న తను ఆ స్థానంలో కొన్నాళ్లు నటించాలని కృష్ణదాస్‌ను కోరతాడు. అయితే సంజయ్‌ స్థానంలోకి వచ్చిన తర్వాత కృష్ణ జీవితం మరిన్ని మలుపులు తిరుగుతుంది. మరి అవేంటి? నిజంగా సంజయ్‌ చనిపోయాడా? లేదా? కృష్ణ, సంజయ్‌ ఒకలా ఉండటానికి కారణమేంటి? కృష్ణ ప్రేమకథ ఏమైంది? వంటి ప్రశ్నలన్నీ తెరపై చూసి తెలుసుకోవాల్సిందే.

ఎలా ఉందంటే: ఒకేలా కనిపించే ఇద్దరు వ్యక్తుల మధ్య నడిచే కథ ఇది. ప్రధమార్ధమంతా కృష్ణదాస్‌ పాత్ర చుట్టూనే తిరుగుతుంది. వెయిటర్‌గా అతని జీవితం.. ఉద్యోగంలో ఎదుర్కొనే అవమానాలు.. కీర్తి తన జీవితంలోకి రావడం.. ఆమెతో ప్రేమలో పడటం ఇలా ప్రధమార్ధంలో కథంతా సాదాసీదాగా సాగిపోతుంటుంది. ఈ ప్రేమకథలో ఎక్కడా కొత్తదనం కనిపించకున్నా.. కొన్ని వాణిజ్య హంగులతో అక్కడక్కడా ఆకట్టుకుంటుంది. కోటీశ్వరుడిలా నటిస్తూ.. కీర్తికి దగ్గరయ్యేందుకు కృష్ణ చేసే ప్రయత్నాలు కొన్ని నవ్వులు పూయిస్తాయి. అలాగే కృష్ణ ప్రేమకు సహాయపడే క్రమంలో ఆది, మహేష్‌ల పాత్రలూ వినోదాలు పంచుతాయి. కృష్ణ కోటీశ్వరుడు కాదు వెయిటర్‌ అన్న విషయం కీర్తికి తెలిసిన దగ్గర్నుంచే కథ వేగం పుంజుకుంటుంది. విరామ సన్నివేశాలు ఊహకు తగ్గట్లుగానే ఉన్నా.. ద్వితీయార్ధంపై ఆసక్తి రేకెత్తించేలాగే ఉంటాయి. (Das Ka Dhamki Review) సంజయ్‌ స్థానంలోకి కృష్ణ ప్రవేశించిన దగ్గర్నుంచి తర్వాత ఏం జరుగుతుందన్న ఉత్కంఠ ప్రేక్షకుల్లో కలుగుతుంది. కానీ, అనవసరమైన సిల్లీ కామెడీ సన్నివేశాల వల్ల ఆ ఉత్కంఠత ఆరంభంలోనే ఆవిరైపోతుంది. సంజయ్‌ రుద్ర పాత్ర తాలూకూ గతం.. తన స్థానంలోకి కృష్ణదాస్‌ను తీసుకురావడానికి గల కారణాల్ని చూస్తే.. ఇది ‘అమిగోస్‌’కు మరో వెర్షన్‌లా అనిపిస్తుంది. సంజయ్, కృష్ణల పాత్రలు ఎదురుపడినప్పటి నుంచి కథ పూర్తిగా గందగోళంగా తయారవుతుంది. కీర్తి పాత్రలోని మరో కోణం ప్రేక్షకుల్ని సర్‌ప్రైజ్‌ చేస్తుంది. పతాక సన్నివేశాల్ని ప్రేక్షకులు ముందుగానే ఊహించగలుగుతారు. రెండో భాగం కోసం క్లైమాక్స్‌ను అనవసరంగా సాగదీశారు.

ఎవరెలా చేశారంటే: కృష్ణదాస్, సంజయ్‌ రుద్ర పాత్రల మధ్య వైవిధ్యాన్ని విష్వక్‌సేన్‌ చక్కగా చూపించారు. ముఖ్యంగా ప్రతినాయక ఛాయలున్న సంజయ్‌ పాత్రలో విష్వక్‌ నటన ఆకట్టుకుంది. అయితే ఆ పాత్రను ద్వితీయార్ధంలో కొంత సమయం వరకూ మాత్రమే పరిమితం చేశారు. కీర్తి పాత్రలో నివేదా అందంగా కనిపించింది. నటన పరంగా ఆమె పాత్రకు అంత ఆస్కారంలేదు. రావు రమేష్‌ది చాలా సాదాసీదా పాత్ర. ఆయనలోని నటుడికి పని చెప్పేది కాదు.(Das Ka Dhamki Review) హైపర్‌ ఆది, మహేష్‌ కనిపించినంత సేపూ నవ్వించే ప్రయత్నం చేశారు. అందులో కొన్ని ఎపిసోడ్లు పేలగా.. మరికొన్ని తుస్సుమన్నాయి. ముఖ్యంగా ‘హ్యాపీడేస్‌’లోని టైసన్‌ పాత్ర తరహాలో మహేష్‌ చెప్పిన డైలాగ్‌లు,  తరుణ్‌ భాస్కర్‌తో ఆయన ఆడుకునే ఎపిసోడ్‌ నవ్వులు పూయించాయి. దర్శకుడిగా విష్వక్‌ ఫర్వాలేదనిపించినా, ఎంచుకున్న కథలోనే బలం లేదు. ప్రధమార్ధం కాస్త కాలక్షేపాన్నిచ్చినా.. ద్వితీయార్ధం సహనానికి పరీక్ష. పతాక సన్నివేశాలకు ముందొచ్చే ట్విస్ట్‌లు కొన్ని ఆకట్టుకోగా.. మరికొన్ని గందరగోళానికి గురి చేస్తాయి. పోరాట ఘట్టాలు మెప్పిస్తాయి. ‘‘మావా బ్రో’’, ‘‘పడిపోయిందే పిల్లా’’ పాటలు వినడానికి, చూడటానికి బాగున్నాయి. నేపథ్య సంగీతం ఆకట్టుకుంది. కెమెరా వర్క్, నిర్మాణ విలువలు ఉన్నతంగా ఉన్నాయి.

నటుడిగా, రచయితగా, దర్శకుడిగా తన ట్యాలెంట్ చూపిస్తున్న విశ్వక్ సేన్ కొంత గ్యాప్ తరవాత మళ్లీ మెగాఫోన్ పట్టుకోవడమే కాకుండా తానే నటించాడు. పైగా ఇది హోం ప్రొడక్షన్. స్క్రీన్ ప్లే, డైలాగ్, దర్శకత్వం అన్నీ తానై నడిపాడు. 

విషయంలోకి వెళ్తే కృష్ణదాస్ (విశ్వక్ సేన్) ఒక స్టార్ హోటల్లో వెయిటర్. అదే హోటల్లో తన తోటి రూం మేట్స్ వెయిటర్ గా ఒకరు (మహేశ్), వాలే పార్కింగులో ఒకరు (హైపర్ ఆది) పని చేస్తుంటారు. పేదరికం వల్ల పడే బాధల నుంచి బ్రేక్ తీసుకోవాలనే యావలో కృష్ణదాస్ డబ్బున్నవాడిగా బిల్డప్పివ్వాలనుకుంటాడు. పర్యవసానంగా కీర్తి (నివేతా పేతురాజ్) అతని ప్రేమలో పడుతుంది. తనని ఒక పెద్ద కంపెనీకి సీయీవోగా భావించిన ఆమె డేటింగ్ కూడా మొదలుపెడుతుంది. అసలు సీయీవో సంజయ్ (విశ్వక్ సేన్) రోడ్ యాక్సిడెంటులో చనిపోతే ఆ స్థానంలో నటించమని అడుగుతాడు సంజయ్ బాబాయ్ (రావు రమేష్). ఆ తర్వాత ఏమౌతుందనే కథ. 

గతంలో వచ్చిన రౌడీ అల్లుడు, దొంగ మొగుడు, రాముడు భీముడు, ఈ మధ్యన వచ్చిన ధమాకా, అమిగోస్..ఇలాంటివన్నీ గుర్తుకొస్తాయి. ప్లాట్ పాతదైనా పర్వాలేదు. కథనం పకడ్బందీగా ఉంటే ఏ లోటు ఉండదు. 

సినిమా ప్రధమార్థం చాలా సరదాగా సాగుతుంది. విశ్వక్ సేన్ మార్క్ కామెడీకి హైపర్ ఆది పంచులు, మహేశ్ టైమింగ్ తో కూడిన లైన్లు కలగలిపి రీఫ్రెషింగ్ గా అనిపిస్తుంది. కానీ తనలోని అపరిచితుడైన నటుడుని పరిచయం చేసుకోవాలనే ఆతృతతో సెకండాఫులో సంజయ్ పాత్రని అవకతవకగా రాసుకోవడం జరిగింది. అప్పటి వరకు ఉన్న లైట్ హ్యూమర్ కాస్తా పోయి సీరియస్ గా, డార్క్ గా మారిపోతుంది కథనం. 

ఒకే టికెట్టు మీద రెండు సినిమాలు చూస్తున్న ఫీలింగ్ కలిగి చాలా లెంగ్దీగా అనిపిస్తుంది. పైగా స్క్రీన్ ప్లేలోనూ, సీన్ కన్సీవింగ్ లోనూ చాలా లోపాలున్నాయి.  మరింత కన్విన్సింగ్ గా, గ్రిప్పింగ్ గా మలచగలిగే అవకాశమున్నా ఆ పని చెయ్యలేదు. సంజయ్ పాత్ర ప్రవేశమైనప్పటి నుంచి నీరసం, చిరాకు కలుగుతాయి. ఆడియన్స్ ఈ ట్రాకప్పుడు ఫోన్లు ఓపెన్ చేయడం గమనిస్తే ఇది ఎంత నిజమో తెలుస్తుంది. 

విశ్వక్ సేన్ మాత్రం డ్యుయల్ షేడ్ లో నటించి మెప్పించే ప్రయత్నం చేసాడు కానీ అతనికి కామెడీయే బెటర్ గా సెట్టవుతుందని తేలిపోయింది.

ఈ సినిమాకి ప్రధానమైన సేవింగ్ గ్రేస్ హైపర్ ఆది, మహేశ్ ఆచంట. వాళ్లిద్దరూ లేకపోతే ఈ చిత్రాన్ని భరించడం బరువయ్యేది. వీళ్ల ట్రాకుల్లోని పంచ్ డైలాగ్స్ హైపర్ ఆదీయే రాసాడా, లేక టైటిల్స్ లో పేర్కొన్నట్టు విశ్వక్సేనే రాసాడా తెలీదు. ఎవరైతేనేం...హాస్యం మాత్రం పండింది. కానీ సెకండాఫులో అంతా తేలిపోయి మళ్లీ చివర్లో కాస్త నవ్వులు విరిసాయి. ఈ కామెడీ జంటని ఇంకాస్త వాడుకుని ఉంటే బాగుండేది. 

విశ్వక్ సేన్-రోహిణి మధ్యలోని ట్రాకైతే నీరసానికి పరాకాష్ట. 

నివేతాపేతురాజ్ గ్లామరస్ గా ఉంది. తెరమీద తక్కువసేపే ఉన్నా తన ఉనికి బలంగా చాటుకుంది. 

కొన్ని బూతు డైలాగులు కట్ చేసినట్టు, మ్యూట్ చేసినట్టు తెలిసినా విషయం అర్ధమైపోవడం వల్ల ఒక్కోసారి ఎబ్బెట్టుగా అనిపిస్తుంది. ముఖ్యంగా ఫస్టఫులో "గరిట అబయటకు తీసా.." అని విశ్వక్ సేన్ చెప్పినప్పుడు మహేశ్ ఆచంట, ఆదిల రియాక్షన్ కి డబుల్ మీనింగేంటో అర్ధమైపోతుంది. అలాగే "మీరేమో పెద్ద బ్యాట్స్ మన్ అనుకున్నాను" అని నివేతా అనడం కూడా డైరెక్ట్ మీనింగే. 

సంగీతం విషయానికొస్తే "పడిపోయానే పిల్లా" బాగుంది. ఇప్పటికే అది సూపర్ హిట్. ఐటెం సాంగ్ మాత్రం అవసరం లేని చోట అడ్డుగా తగిలింది. 

మిగిలిన టెక్నికల్ విభాగాలన్నీ ఓకే. ఎడిటర్ సెకండాఫులో ఇంకాస్త కత్తెర వేసుండాల్సింది. 

విశ్వక్ సేన్ తనని తాను ఒక పెద్ద మాస్ హీరోగా ప్రొజెక్ట్ చేసుకునే ప్రయత్నమిది. సాదాగా మొదలై, సీరియస్ గా మారి చివరికి అయోమయమైన దారుల్లో నడిచి సీక్వెల్ ప్రకటనతో ముగుస్తుంది. "ఎ ఫిల్మ్ బై విశ్వక్ సేన్" అని వేసేసాక కొడ మరొక పది నిమిషాలు సినిమా కొనసాగి సీక్వెల్ అనౌన్స్మెంట్ అయ్యింది. ధమ్కీ ఇస్తే కంటెంటుతో సౌండ్ వినపడాలి. అది జరగలేదు.

Be a honest reviewer.. dont just write and give ratings for money... this movie is definitely lot good and entertainer...witha a good story and screenplay part 2 should also be interesting.... this part 1 is also good one time watch though it is lengthy and cutting down few scenes tgis could a good crisp thriller kind...not as bad as the review says

చాలా వారాల తర్వాత టాలీవుడ్ సినిమా దగ్గర మంచి ప్రమోషన్స్ నడుమ యంగ్ అండ్ టాలెంటెడ్ హీరో విశ్వక్ సేన్ హీరోగా తన స్వీయ దర్శకత్వంలో నివేతా పెత్తురాజ్ హీరోయిన్ గా నటించిన “దాస్ కా ధమ్కీ” అయితే రిలీజ్ కి వచ్చింది. మరి ఈ సినిమా ఎంతవరకు అలరించిందో సమీక్షలో తెలుసుకుందాం రండి.

ఇక కథలోకి వస్తే..కృష్ణ దాస్(విశ్వక్ సేన్) ఓ లగ్జరీ హోటల్లో వెయిటర్ గా పని చేస్తూ ఉంటాడు కానీ తనకి మాత్రం లైఫ్ లో పెద్ద స్థాయిలో సెట్ అవ్వాలని ఎన్నో డ్రీమ్స్ పెట్టుకుంటాడు. అలాగే మరో పక్క ఎస్ ఆర్ ఫార్మా చైర్మన్ గా డాక్టర్ సంజయ్ రుద్ర(మరో విశ్వక్ సేన్) తన ప్రయోగంతో ప్రపంచంలో క్యాన్సర్ అనేది లేకుండా చేయాలని దృఢ సంకల్పంతో ఉంటాడు. మరి ఈ ఇద్దరూ ఒకరికి ఒకరు లింక్ ఉంటుందా? లేక వేరే వేరేనా? కథలో సంజయ్ రుద్ర కి ఏమవుతుంది? తన లక్ష్యాన్ని చేరుకున్నాడా లేదా? ఇంతకీ కీర్తీ(నివేతా పెత్తురాజ్) ఎవరితో లింక్ ఉంటుంది? ఇలా అనేక ప్రశ్నలకి సమాధానం తెలియాలి అంటే ఈ సినిమా చూడాల్సిందే.

ప్లస్ పాయింట్స్ :

ఈ సినిమలో మొదటగా మాస్ కా దాస్ విశ్వక్ సేన్ నుంచి మొదలు పెడితే తాను రెండు షేడ్స్ లో ఈ సినిమాలో సాలిడ్ పెర్ఫామెన్స్ తో ఇంప్రెస్ చేస్తాడు. ఇది వరకు కూడా ఇలాంటి యూత్ ఫుల్ అగ్రెసివ్ రోల్స్ లో కనిపించిన తాను ఓ చైర్మన్ రోల్ లో అయితే మంచి సెటిల్డ్ పెర్ఫామెన్స్ ని కనబరిచాడు. అలాగే రెండు షేడ్స్ లో కూడా మంచి వేరియేషన్స్ ని ఎమోషన్స్ ని బాగా చేసాడు.

ఇక హీరోయిన్ నివేతా తన గత సినిమాలు తెలుగు లేదా ఇతర భాషల్లో కూడా చాలా సెటిల్డ్ గా కనిపించింది కానీ ఈ సినిమాలో తన గ్లామ్ షో అయితే మాస్ ఆడియెన్స్ కి ట్రీట్ ఇస్తుంది అని చెప్పాలి. అలాగే నటన పరంగా కూడా మంచి పెర్ఫామెన్స్ ని విశ్వక్ తో బ్యూటిఫుల్ కెమిస్ట్రీని “పాగల్” తర్వాత చూపించింది.

ఇక సినిమాలో మరో హైలైట్ అంశం ఏదన్నా ఉంది అంటే ఎంటర్టైన్మెంట్ కోరుకునే వారికీ మంచి ట్రీట్ ఇస్తుంది. హైపర్ ఆది, జబర్దస్త్ మహేష్ లతో విశ్వక్ ల పలు కామెడీ సీన్స్ హిలేరియస్ గా ఉంటాయి. ఇక వారితో పాటుగా రావు రమేష్, పృథ్వీ తదితరులు తమ పాత్రలకు సంపూర్ణ న్యాయం చేకూర్చారు.

మైనస్ పాయింట్స్ :

ఈ చిత్రంలో ఆకట్టుకునే ఎంటర్టైనింగ్ నరేషన్ అక్కడక్కడా ఉన్నప్పటికీ కథ పరంగా అయితే ఈ సినిమా మెప్పించదు. ఆల్రెడీ మనం గత కొన్నేళ్ల కాలంలో చూసిన డ్యూయల్ రోల్ రొటీన్ కాన్సెప్ట్ లో సినిమా కనిపిస్తుంది. దీనితో అన్ని వర్గాల ఆడియెన్స్ ని ఈ సినిమా కథ పరంగా మెప్పించకపోవచ్చు. ఇక సినిమా సెకండాఫ్ కోసం బాగా హైలైట్ చేస్తూ ఓ టాక్ నడిచింది.

కానీ సినిమాలో అంత హైప్ ఇచ్చిన రేంజ్ లో సెకండాఫ్ అనిపించదు. ట్విస్ట్ లు ఉన్నాయి కానీ అవి అమితంగా ఉన్నాయి పైగా ఇన్ని ట్విస్టులు ఆడియెన్స్ కి విసుగు కూడా తెప్పించవచ్చు. అలాగే సెకండాఫ్ లో చాలా కన్ఫ్యూజన్ కూడా నెలకొంటుంది. అంతే కాకుండా రోహిణి లాంటి నటి పాత్రకి ఇంపార్టెన్స్ పెద్దగా చూపలేదు.

ఇంకా పలు బోరింగ్ సన్నివేశాలు తీసేయాల్సింది. ఎంతో కీలకమైన సెకండాఫ్ ఇంకా ఇంకా జాగ్రత్తలు తీసుకోవాల్సింది. వీటితో పాటుగా సినిమాలో మెయిన్ పాయింట్ అయ్యిన సోషల్ ఎలిమెంట్ ని ఇంకా బాగా హ్యాండిల్ చేయాల్సింది. దాని రిలేటెడ్ సన్నివేశాలు అంత వర్కౌట్ అయ్యినట్టుగా అనిపించవు.

సాంకేతిక వర్గం :

ఈ సినిమాలో నిర్మాణ విలువలు అయితే రిచ్ గా ఉన్నాయి. సినిమాలో పాత్రలు డిమాండ్ మేరకు కావాల్సిన అన్ని హంగుల్లో మంచి నిర్మాణ విలువలు కనిపిస్తాయి. అలాగే లియోన్ జేమ్స్ సంగీతం సినిమాలో ట్రీట్ ఇస్తుంది. అలాగే దినేష్ కే బాబు సినిమాటోగ్రఫీ బాగుంది. కానీ ఎడిటింగ్ మాత్రం ఇంకా బెటర్ గా చేయాల్సింది. కాస్ట్యూమ్స్, డైలాగ్స్ టీం వర్క్స్ బాగున్నాయి.

ఇక సినిమాలో చాలా వరకు విశ్వక్ సేన్ నే డైరెక్షన్ చేసిన సంగతి తెలిసిందే. ఇది వరకు కూడా తాను డైరెక్టర్ గా చేసాడు కానీ ఈ సినిమాకి మాత్రం పూర్తి స్థాయిలో ఆకట్టుకునే రేంజ్ లో తన పనితనం లేదనే చెప్పాలి. సెకండాఫ్ లో ఇంకా జాగ్రత్తగా హ్యాండిల్ చేసి ఉంటే బాగుండు. ట్విస్ట్ లు చాలా వరకు ముందే తెలిసిపోయేలా ఉంటాయి పైగా ఇలాంటివి ఎక్కువ ఉండడంతో ఆడియెన్స్ అంతగా థ్రిల్ అవ్వకపోవచ్చు. విశ్వక్ అయితే తన సాధ్యమైనంత వరకు ట్రై చేసాడు కానీ అవి కంప్లీట్ గా ఎంటర్టైన్ చేయవని చెప్పక తప్పదు.

ఇక మొత్తంగా చూస్తే ఈ “దాస్ కా ధమ్కీ” విశ్వక్ నుంచి గాని నివేతా నుంచి కూడా ఆశించే అన్ని అంశాలు కంటే అంతకు మించే ఉంటాయి. అలాగే అక్కడక్కడా మంచి ఎంటర్టైన్మెంట్ ఉంటుంది కానీ కథలో ఎలాంటి కొత్తదనం ఉండదు పైగా చాలా ఇంప్రెస్ చెయ్యని ట్విస్ట్ లు బోర్ అనిపిస్తాయి. వీటితో అయితే కాస్త తక్కువ అంచనాలు పెట్టుకొని ఈ పండుగకి లేదా వారాంతానికి ఒక్కసారి చూడొచ్చు.

Das ka dhamki movie review: das ka dhamki is entertaining if you are in the mood for a typical commercial potboiler..

After a busy 2022, Vishwak Sen is back with Das Ka Dhamki. The director has made no bones about the fact that he has given his second directorial his all, in terms of budget and thrills.

Das Ki Dhamki is the story of an orphan Krishna Das (Vishwak Sen) who works as a waiter in a hotel. His co-workers, played by Hyper Aadi and ‘Rangasthalam’ Mahesh, are his friends and family. Das hates the submissive life of a poor man but is sure he won’t die like that.

After a shameful incident with one of the customers at the hotel, he convinces his friends to go to the same hotel as customers and have one meal there with the respect that a paying customer would command. During the dinner, he bumps into Keerthi (Nivetha Pethuraj) who mistakes him for a rich guy. One thing leads to another and Keerthi ends up believing that he is Sanjay Rudra, the CEO of multi-billion-dollar company SR Pharma. Das vows to hold on to this respect and decides to marry Keerthi. His friends keep on reminding him about their impossible situation and to forget his pipe dreams. They also ask him to tell Keerthi the truth and be done with the drama. Blind in love, Das fails to do so. As he convinces himself that Keerthi loves him for who he is, she finds out about his real identity.

The love story ends on a sour note. Their dire financial status literally drags them to the road. At that moment, Rao Ramesh’s character enters their life and promises to solve all their problems if Krishna Das helps him with a situation his family is facing. The twist in the story is that SR Pharma CEO Sanjay Rudra is a lookalike of Das. He is told that Sanjay died in a recent accident, leaving a Rs 10,000 crore deal of the company in jeopardy. Since it is also related to a drug that could cure all types of cancer , Das agrees to act as Sanjay for 10 days till the deal goes through.

Who is Sanjay Rudra? How did he really die? Is this cancer cure drug real? Can Krishna Das really fulfill his commitments to Rao Ramesh? Will Krishna Das earn respect and have his own family? The rest of the story provides answers to all these questions.

Doppelgangers is an extensively used trope in Telugu cinema, seen recently in Amigos, Gautam Nanda, Jai Lava Kusa, Khaidi No.150, Vikramarkudu, Billa… the list goes on. Das Ka Dhamki follows this tradition and uses all the tricks associated with such movies. It is necessary to mention that the film’s writer Prasanna Kumar’s most recent outing Ravi Teja ’s Dhamaka is also part of this list. Prasanna’s writing is fairly entertaining. Particularly the part with sidekicks Hyper Aadi and Mahesh is full of puns and punch dialogues. The interval scene, though somewhat dragged, is well picturised. The extreme nature of Sanjay Rudra doesn’t feel very convincing. The drama about the family members, without proper purpose or explanation, keeps dragging the momentum down. What is to be achieved in the 10-day period never becomes clear. The screenplay here is muddled. The second half is full of twists, character flips to keep the audience engaged. But we see the events coming from a mile away. The coda part that sets stage for a sequel is visually very interesting. This is perhaps the most imaginative scene of the entire film.

Vishwak Sen’s attempt at action feels forced, with not much variation. It depends mostly on one-upmanship achieved through predictable scenes. Nivetha Pethuraj oozes glamour in this otherwise routine character. Hyper Aadi and Mahesh deliver the goods. Tharun Bhasker appears in another forgettable cameo.

Leon James’s music is acceptable. The song “Almost Padipoyinde” is quite catchy.

During the film’s pre-release function, Jr NTR advised Vishwak Sen to forget about direction. If Vishwak seriously considers this advice, we may still get to see the firebrand action he has been so consistently delivering.

Das Ka Dhamki is entertaining if you are in the mood for a typical commercial potboiler.

Firstly, though the title, Das Ka Dhamki , sounds interesting, it has nothing to do with the plot. The name Das is from Falaknuma Das (2019), Vishwak Sen's maiden film as a director, and he's added it next to Dhamki (threat), forming a title for his sophomore directorial. But the title has more to do with Vishwak, who seeks to build a brand for himself, hailing from a non-filmy background. 

Call it a strategic branding choice or an exercise in narcissism, Vishwak is determined to play the long game and emerge as a force to be reckoned with. As much as I am impressed by Vishwak’s gumption to don the hats of writer, director, actor and producer, all at once,  Das Ka Dhamki  also had me wishing for better writing and more coherent structure. Vishwak plays the roles of doppelgangers Sanjay Rudra and Krishna Das in Das Ka Dhamki . The former is a scientist heir to a pharma company committed to eradicating cancer with a miracle drug. The latter is a working-class orphan who has worked as a waiter in a five-star hotel for the last six years. The film's first half belongs to Krishna and his childhood buddies (Mahesh and Hyper Aadi), whom he affectionately calls Amma and Naana. And he tries to woo Keerthi (Nivetha Pethuraj) by pretending to be a rich man. Eventually, the facade falls apart. The revelations make a way when Krishna learns that the rich man he was impersonating is none other than Sanjay, who dies in a car accident. Krishna has to now step into the shoes of Sanjay to fulfil the latter’s ambitions and save the organisation from being usurped. The second half, where we know more about Sanjay and his not-so-noble intentions, feels like an entirely different film. And as we try to weave in multiple plotlines that unravel gradually, it only stands as a detriment to the film. Vishwak, with the help of writer Prasanna Kumar Bezawada and editor Anwar Ali, tries to create two individuals with a stark contrast in their moralities, motivations and social backgrounds. The symbolism of their names, one of Hinduism’s divine preserver Vishnu and the other, its karmic destroyer Shiva is sharply evident in their resultant characterisations. The duality of these characters makes its presence felt in the film’s power-packed last scene. And guess what... Das Ka Dhamki is not interested in the predictable good-over-evil ending but aims to build a good-vs-evil, or rather, a Vishwak Sen “vs” Vishwak Sen franchise. Just like the story that reflects on the juxtaposition of a good person against a bad person, Vishwak's experiments with the filmmaking style seem a bit new to the mainstream, and yet it does not create a riveting experience. The film’s interval scene, where Krishna Das realises the consequences of his actions, as his frame in the day quickly cuts to night with him in the same profile and shot size, is captured beautifully. Scenes like these show Vishwak’s prowess as a filmmaker. The portions before and after the interval, make for a sluggish watch and the pay-offs don’t quite justify the setups. There is an ‘everything is a copy of a copy of a copy’ style of writing. There is also an ‘imitation is the best form of flattery’ style of acting. While Vishwak is affable and convincing as Krishna, his rendition of the gleefully evil Sanjay, where he imitates Heath Ledger from The Dark Knight (2008), is overdramatic. The film's second half reminds me of Yashoda   and DJ Tillu's  later portions, with Rao Ramesh ( Yashoda ) and Muralidhar Goud's ( DJ Tillu ) appearances reinforcing it.  Rohini, who plays Sanjay’s mother, did feel typical at first but she later comes across as an inspired choice. Das Ka Dhamki’s production design makes a few easily avoidable mistakes. For instance, there is this overwhelmingly gold-painted bungalow in Jubilee Hills that screams new money, but you also see actual green hills in the background. Also, why does a Caribbean nation have caucasian cops in American tactical gear? The film’s background score by Leon James is effective and refreshing. Das Ka Dhamki ends with the promise of a sequel. And if it materialises, I hope the writing is as strong and meaningful as Vishwak’s aspirations.

Das Ka Dhamki is a Telugu-language action comedy thriller film directed by Vishwak Sen and has the story written by Prasanna Kumar Bezawada. The film has Vishwak Sen & Nivetha Pethuraj playing the lead roles while Rao Ramesh, Rohini Molleti, Tharun Bhascker, Akshara Goud, Ajay, Hyper Aadi, Mahesh Anchata & others in supporting roles. The music is composed by Leon James and the film is produced by Karate Raju under Vanmaye Creations & Vishwaksen Cinemas banners.

Krishna Das (Vishwak Sen) is a poor youngster who works as a waiter in a 5-star hotel and stays with his 2 best friends (Hyper Aadi & Mahesh) who also work in the same hotel. He falls in love with Keerthi (Nivetha Pethuraj) by acting rich and playing a few tricks. One day, he comes to know about his doppelganger named Sanjay who is a doctor that looks exactly like him. Krishna Das is then asked to take over the responsibility of Sanjay’s company and his family for 10 days. Who is Sanjay? What is the story behind him? What problems does Krishna Das face later? Needs to be seen on big screens.

What about on-screen performances?

Vishwak Sen is terrific in his dual roles. He does all his swagger mass scenes like a pro in both roles and is particularly impressive with his comedy timing as Krishna Das. He could have done a lot better in a few scenes where he shows off his evil side as Sanjay in the second half.

Nivetha Pethuraj is effortless with her performance and looks super gorgeous in her out-and-out glamorous role. She is good in all her scenes with Vishwak and their chemistry is pretty decent.

Hyper Aadi and Mahesh Anchata are hilarious in their respective roles as the hero’s friends. All the trio scenes in the first half worked out well and will evoke good laughs in the theatres.

Rao Ramesh does his part with ease like he always does in a crucial role while Tharun Bhascker is funny in his small cameo.

Rohini Molleti has very limited lines but emotes well with her eyes.

Akshara Goud is okay as the hotel manager and the rest of the supporting cast are fine in their short roles.

What about off-screen talents?

The story by Prasanna Kumar Bezawada has nothing new in terms of freshness but is completely set up in a commercial tone with decent twists which can keep us invested. The story does have a few traces of Dhamaka, Adhurs, Rowdy Alludu, and a few other films in the past where a doppelganger replaces his lookalike and plays his part.

The screenplay by Vishwak Sen is pretty half-baked. Though it is face paced, a few developments look very forced, especially in the second half. The whole cancer drug angle is very poorly dealt with in the film and even a few scenes of Sanjay look routine as the writers run out of ideas to show him in a different evil angle.

Vishwak Sen does a superb job with his presentation. When compared to his first outing ‘Falaknuma Das’, he definitely takes the scale and commercial meter a notch higher with Dhamki but he couldn’t be fully convincing with his narrative, particularly in the climax portions on a whole.

The dialogues are well written. A few massy lines hit the right chord and all the funny one-liners are hilarious.

The background music by Leon James is one of the biggest strengths of the film. His score is trendy and very fresh. Also, the songs are foot-tapping. ‘Almost Padipoyinde Pilla’ is already a chartbuster and ‘O Dollar Pillagaa’ is well shot.

The camera work by Dinesh K. Babu is brilliant. He shoots the film on a rich canvas while the edit by Anwar Ali could have been a bit crisper.

The production values by Vanmaye Creations & Vishwaksen Cinemas are rich.

Verdict: Overall, Das Ka Dhamki ends being a below average fair with the way the second half is handled, after having a decently entertaining first half. A crisper latter half and a few novel ideas could have made this an a better film.

Vishwak Sen is a multi-talented person as he is both an actor and a director. He had previously directed "Falaknuma Das" and had returned to it after a brief break.

He went all out to aggressively promote the film, and his belief in it made people turn towards theatres.

Story: Krishna Das (Vishwak Sen) is a waiter in a five star hotel. He grew up in an orphanage with his friends (Hyper Adhi and Mahesh Achanta) who also work in the same hotel.

When a beautiful girl Keerthy (Nivetha Pethuraj) mistakes him for a rich customer in the hotel, things take a different turn. They begin dating as she believes him the CEO of a pharma company, and he hopes to get a family of his own.

When Sanjay (Vishwak Sen), the real CEO of SR Pharma company, gets killed in a road accident, Krishna Das is asked by the uncle of Sanjay to act like the real CEO for a few days.

What will happen when the waiter becomes the CEO?

Artistes’ Performances: Vishwak Sen effortlessly portrays the role of a waiter, and his playful performance in the first half provides a lot of entertainment. However, although he plays a dual role, the characterization of the other character is insufficient. As a result, Vishwak Sen is ineffective in the other role, which has negative connotations.

Nivetha Pethuraj portrays a glamorous role, and she does it justice. Despite having less screen time in the latter half of the film, she performs her role well and has fantastic chemistry with Vishwak Sen.

Hyper Aadi delivers some effective comedic punches, while Rao Ramesh, Ajay, Rohini, Prudhvi Raj, and Murali Goud all give good performances.

Technical Excellence: "Almost Padipoya Pilla," a romantic duet, is catchy and upbeat. The first song, "Mama Bro," is also okay. The film's production values are lavish. The writing and editing are shortcomings.

Highlights: Couple of sequences Interval bang

Analysis Bejawada Prasanna Kumar, the writer of the recent blockbuster "Dhamaka," wrote the story for "Das Ka Dhamki." Although "Dhamki" and "Dhamaka" sound similar, the plot of the film appears to be almost identical at first glance.

However, the screenplay of the film seems to have been changed, and many twists and turns have been added to differentiate it from "Dhamaka." Unfortunately, the second half of the film, which is filled with twists and surprises, feels forced and does not flow organically.

Vishwak Sen is more comfortable with comedy and romance, which dominate the first half of the film. The movie starts with Vishwak Sen playing a waiter at a five-star hotel, and his playful romance with Nivetha Pethuraj, who mistakenly thinks he's wealthy, provides some light entertainment.

The chemistry between them is palpable, and despite the predictable plot, the first half of the film works well because of their hot chemistry and the comedy.

The first significant twist that occurs at the interval bang also piques the audience's interest.

Vishwak Sen wrote the screenplay, directed the film, and played two roles, but as mentioned earlier, too many twists have been added to differentiate it from "Dhamaka," resulting in irritating rather than surprising the audience.

Furthermore, the plot fizzles out completely, and the twists become as ridiculous as those seen in Ravi Teja's "Khiladi." The sentiment scene involving Vishwak Sen and Rohini is terrible.

After the audience breathes a sigh of relief at the conclusion, the film abruptly continues for another 10 minutes to announce that "part 2" will soon begin loading.

Overall, "Das Ka Dhamki" starts off as a lighthearted rom-com but ends up as a clumsy thriller with a messy second half. Vishwak Sen performs better as an actor than as a director.

Krishna Das (Vishwaksen) works as a waiter at a five-star hotel in Hyderabad, but he has bigger ambitions for his life. There is a constant struggle for survival for him and his pals. Krishna Das and his friends decide to try out the eatery where they usually work as patrons rather than staff.

In the restuarant, he encounters the stunning Keerthy (Nivetha Pethuraj), who takes him for a wealthy businessman. Because of this, she starts dating him.

Conversely, Sanjay Rudra (Vishwaksen), a doppelganger of Das, heads a pharmaceutical company that announces the discovery of a cure for cancer. Due to a series of events, Das needs to be posed as Sanjay. What happens then?

In the beginning, “Das Ka Dhamki” resembles the French film “Hors de prix,” also known as “Priceless.” (2006). There’s a moment where we start to wonder if the film is being ripped off directly, but eventually “Dhamki” diverges from the French drama and aims to be its own thing by adding a bunch of new twists.

If Vishwak Sen had continued down the path established in the beginning of the film, “Dhamki” might have been watchable.

The film’s first half, featuring hilarious lines from Hyper Aadhi and a hot romance between Vishwak Sen and Nivetha Pethuraj, is much more entertaining than the second half, which is full of twists that are unconvincing.

As soon as a wealthy person dies or runs into trouble, a street-smart double takes his place. In Telugu movies, this plot device has been used countless times. But in “Das Ka Dhamki,” the writers attempt to subvert this cliché with some new ideas and ultimately fail. Audiences are left feeling confused and bored rather than energized by the plot’s twists.

It would appear that the story’s writer, Bejawada Prasanna Kumar, and its director, Vishwak Sen, were both perplexed as to how to bring things to a close. The film’s already poor ending is made even worse by the unnecessary setup for the sequel.

Vishwak Sen and Nivetha Pethuraj’s chemistry in the film’s first act, as well as two songs, are some of the film’s highlights.  Vishwak Sen shines in the role of a waiter. Nivetha Pethuraj plays the part of a typical Telugu heroine and serves as a treat for the eyes. The screen is splashed with vibrant colors during “Almost Padipoya Pilla” and another song.

Bottom-line: “Das Ka Dhamki” starts off well with some funny moments and palpable chemistry between the leads, but the film quickly derails in the second half due to an excess of plot twists and sloppy writing.

Krishna Das ( Vishwaksen) works as a waiter in a star hotel in Hyderabad. Das and friends lead middle class life, want to lead a rich life. Pretending as a rich brat Das cheats keerthi ( Nivetha ). On the other hand Sanjay Rudra ( Vishwaksen) a look alike of Das runs a pharma company which claims discovery of a cancer drug. There is a 10,000 crores deal for which Dhanunjay ( Ajay ) and Sanjay fight for. Eventful sequences lead Das to impersonate as Sanjay. Rest of the story is how Sanjay and Das cross into each other’s space

In first half Das role and characterization are neatly done. Vishwaksen seamlessly transforms into a waiter role. The love story with Keerthi is commercially packed if not with freshness. With his body language and youth centric dialogues, Viswaksen delivers average watch up until interval. Hyper Aadi, Mahesh as sidekicks to Das deliver much needed comedy dialogues.

Rao Ramesh engages Das to impersonate Sanjay sets the game for second half. As a director, Vishwak overtries from here on. Dual role films turn double edged sword to the director. They get ample scope to generate engage the audience , but sometimes dual roles add to confusion.

Problem with the Das Ka Dhamki script is too many twists, and mainly flipping the identities of Sanjay and Das turn headache by somepoint. Unnecessary violence, Overdose of swear words might help pulling in certain section audience but deters many. Hopefully, those words are censored in India prints. The crucial climax portion and post titles scene also didnt work much. Overall, had vishwak kept it simple in second half he would have scored a winner.

Performances :

Viswaksen as Das did great work, Sanjay characterization didn’t give him much scope to do the same.  Nivetha as Keerthi is adequate. Rao Ramesh role is a very predictable boring one.

Production values are top class and audience might feel they are watching a star hero film budgetwise. ‘ Mawa Bro’ , ‘ Almost padipoyinde pillaa ‘ songs are good on screen

Positives :

• Vishwaksen mark elements
• Lavish production value

Negatives :

• Nonsensical second half
• Confusing screenplay
• Cancer drug thread

‘Das Ka Dhamki’ is an average fare for youth , tests patience for other sections. Viswaksen did a good job as a hero, but couldn’t meet expectations as a director. Too many confusing twists in the second half played spoilsport.
