Corruption Free India Speech for Students and Children in English

Corruption-Free India : Corruption is not a new word for all the citizens of our country. In fact, it is the most common word and everyone is familiar with the problem we have faced after the corruption. Corruption is basically the use of public power, property and influence to obtain money or personal advantages. Corruption is not only a problem in India but is also a problem for the whole world. However, the difference is that in our country India it is being performed at the most extreme level due to which the growth of our country has been slowed down very much. On the other, if we talk about corruption in developed countries we will definitely find that corruption in those countries is least but not eliminated completely .

In this article, we will describe the incidents of corruption that happened in our country and its repercussions on our country as well as on society. Furthermore, we will also discuss the laws that help to eliminate corruption in our country. Eventually, we will provide a conclusion regarding the topic.

Incidents of Corruption in India

Many incidents of corruption have rocked India so far. In this section, we will present some famous incidents of corruption which undeniably led to a major blow to our economy also. The incident of corruption are as follows:

Choppergate Scam -This scam is also known by the name AugustaWestland VVIP Chopper deal. In this scam, the main accused was the UPA government which was at that time led by congress. According to the CBI, in 2006 and 2007, the UPA government paid money to the agent or the middleman and Indian officials to buy choppers for politicians. Furthermore, this scam was of Rs 3600 Crore and several politicians and military officials were involved in this scam.

Scam of Vijay Mallya In 2016 , Vijay Mallya a famous business tycoon, fled from the country and sought refuge in the United Kingdom. He allegedly took a loan of Rs 9000 Cr from various Indian banks and mainly from PNB. Furthermore, he was also accused of fraud as well as money laundering in India.

Many more scandals are on the list such as the Bofors scandal in 1980 to 1990 of Rs 64 crore, the Rafale deal scam in the same year of Rs 58,000 crores and not to forget the Coalgate scam of Rs 1.856 lakh crore. There were many scams like this that have badly impacted our country.

Impression of Corruption in our Community

Corruption-free India can not be visualized without realising the impression that corruption has made in our society. The scams mentioned above have made our country financially feeble because the same money could have been used for the development of schools, the development of roads and many projects that could have given employment to the youths of our country. Furthermore, the use of power and resources by government officials for personal gain is one of the reasons for inequality in India.

For many years, we have seen many people lose their lives in road accidents. Many people only think about the fault of the driver but do not go down to the root cause of the problem. Here also the problem is corruption. Many people get their four-wheeler or two-wheeler driving license through an agent without giving any test. They only pay money to the agent and government official and get the license. This same driver does not know how to drive on road by following the rules and does rash driving killing so many innocent people. This is the impact of corruption on our community. Like this, corruption has devoured the whole country over the years.

Reasons for India need to be Corruption Free

There are many reasons for India to be corruption free. We have tried to identify them and have also listed them below:

• All of us have been to the villages. We must have noticed that they even do not have the basic amenities such as drinking water , roads, drainage facilities and above all most important education for the children. So, this is happening because of corruption only. Government officials receive money from the government but they simply do not provide the complete funds to the workers which result in low quality of the project build.
• One of the major problems in our country is unemployment . Many government officials disclose the entrance exam paper and due to this many undeserving candidates get selected. It leads to the hardworking people again being left unemployed and many times the examination gets cancelled. Due to this the candidates lose their crucial time and resulting in more unemployment.

There are many reasons like this that have compelled us to think about making our nation corruption free.

Anti-Corruption Laws for Corruption-Free India

One of the most important laws against corruption-free India was passed in 2005. It is known as the ‘Right to Information Act ‘.According to this act, the employees working in government departments have to give information if a citizen requests any information from that office or from the department regarding the services they are providing.

This law has not been completely implemented in all countries. According to the reports it has been ratified in nineteen states of India. Furthermore, this act also binds government employees to provide information in a limited time period. This act has reduced corruption in the government department significantly.

The Lokpal and Lokayukta Act was also passed in parliament in 2013 and came into force in the year 2014. Under this act, the government has established an entity that will be called Lokpal and will only look into matters of corruption. In other words, it will check into the allegations which have been made against public servants.

Our government as well as the country is making many efforts to make our country corruption free. The government has passed many laws and taking action on them on short notice. Over the years, corruption has also come down, improving the economy and making the life of people easier. It will not be pragmatic to think that we can make India corruption free in 2 years or 3 years. Definitely, eliminating or reducing corruption will take time as we have to be more patient and vigilant against corruption. Eventually, we the people of India also have to take responsibility for making our country corruption free.

Good morning to one and all present here. It is rightly said that your speech only becomes well if your tongue says what your heart feels. So, here I am to talk about the current and worldwide ongoing issue and enlighten all of you with a speech on Corruption! 

In one aspect or the other, we all have come across the word ‘Corruption.’ According to political ideology’s definition, ‘Corruption is a form of dishonesty or criminal offence undertaken by a person or organization entrusted with a position of authority, to acquire illicit benefit or abuse power for one’s private gain.’ Seems lengthy and confusing, right? Most simply, corruption is dishonest behaviour practised by authorities such as managers or government officials. This is how people with power rule the world, thereby violating certain people’s rights and privileges. 

It is said that time changes everything.  But here it is, this dishonest act and the unsatisfying term haven’t changed for years on end. It is still prevalent. The main reason for corruption in India is the link between bureaucrats, politicians, and criminals.

Gone are the days when bribes were given when things were wrong. Presently, bribes are received to hide the right stuff. May it be a minor issue or a life-threatening one, a younger child or an adult man, a school-going boy to a working person everyone has seen and has fallen prey to corruption. These days, even if a person isn’t qualified enough for a public sector job, he can quickly get it by spending money and giving bribes to higher officials.

Well, what is a speech on corruption without some examples? So here are some things which you must have experienced at some point in your life. Have you ever applied for your or your child’s admission to a big reputed college? You can observe in a few of those colleges that if you aren’t eligible for admission, then a bribe is the door opener. Sounds pathetic right? But this is the sad truth these days. From getting admission to reputed colleges to being elected with numerous votes, everything unless more minor or more ways is induced with corruption.

But the most significant and worst type of corruption is Political Corruption. In legal terms, Political corruption or Mal Politics uses powers by government officials or their network contacts for illegitimate private gain. This type is the most concerning one as it erodes the fundamental value of the law that governs and regulates society creating a massive mess in the country as a whole.

Now you all might be thinking that this happens only in well-established and sophisticated cities, but that’s not the case. It occurs throughout India. Metropolitan cities, towns, and villages are all part of this evil game, and it is the common man who gets unnecessarily trapped in the dishonest strategies of this game. The heights of corruption have reached such an extent that strict law can also reduce but not abolish this corrupt mindset. 

Any speech on corruption can never be complete without looking at the causes of corruption. We often hear people saying, ‘Everything happens for a reason. This states that Everything happening around us is driven by a strong desire or motivation behind it. In the same way, corruption also has some hidden causes behind it. Enlisted are the causes of corruption:

• Greed of money
• Lack of values and ethics
• Lack of education
• High level of bureaucracy and inefficient administrative structure 
• Political instability
• Gender Inequality 

Now, when we have raked up this sensitive topic in my speech on corruption, I must bring to your notice certain measures to reduce this problem. “Every problem has a solution……But it depends whether you want to solve it or not”. It depends on us if we have to stand against this evil act or in support of it. People usually stay silent in such situations, but one must remember that mere silence leads to acceptance. We must unite together and try to reduce corruption. Enlisted are the various ways in which we can reduce corruption to a greater extent.

• People should start reporting cases of corruption without any delay.
• All the government, non-government, public, private, and educational should unite together and stand against corruption.
• The media and advertising sector should educate people against corruption regularly.
• We should provide students with additional courses to build better citizens for tomorrow.

To conclude, corruption is making life worse for the commoner. But, he is the only one who can raise his voice and bring change. We should start from ourselves and change our thinking of ‘Make a Change to that of ‘Be a change. So, let’s come together and stand in favour of the commoner and not corruption. Let’s decide to be loyal and valuable citizens of our country.

People connect to similarities. When something similar to their life is talked about, people pay attention. Hello to all the esteemed members of the audience. Today I wish to share with you some of my views on the prevailing practice of corruption. 

As a much used and prevalent term, many of us must have often wondered as to how we define corruption. Many among us must also have been intrigued as to what can actually be categorized as corruption. Well, to put it in words, we can define corruption as any sort of practice that allows the party or parties partaking in an inordinate benefit or advantage. Many-a-often, corruption is seen to disproportionately favor the outcome of an event, which would not have been the case otherwise.

Various forms of media have often quoted the term ‘corruption’ in relation to powerful people, organizations, political parties and even justice systems. Corruption is what allows some people to escape from the clutches of law and order. Some of the common forms of corruption that we often witness include bribery, money laundering, peddling, extortion, patronage, embezzlement, electoral fraud, etc. Within an organization, the practice of other forms of corruption such as nepotism, cronyism, etc. is also prevalent. 

Political parties are also seen practicing corruption in order to gain influence over the people. 

Corruption prevents the prevalence of justice. As a result of this malpractice, deserving people are often robbed of apt opportunities. This practice is often seen to have a domino effect as it gives rise to a chain of events triggered by a single act. In other words, corruption brings about death to democracy. People engaging in corruption often turn a blind eye towards justice systems touted as an important pillar of democracy. The outcome of corruption, which is usually in favor of the more powerful section of society, also leads people to lose faith in the democratic process. 

Now that we have discussed corruption in detail, we should also make ourselves aware of how we can prevent the same from taking place. Effective law enforcement is often the key to halt this practice. This ensures that corrupt officials are being punished for their crimes. Other measures of curbing corruption include the practice of effective journalism, transparency on the part of the government in terms of policies and other norms, strengthened roles of auditing agencies, etc. The citizens must also be strengthened to raise questions and the government should also be made accountable in order to put an end to corrupt practices.

As citizens and human beings, it is our responsibility to see to it that we do not indulge in any type of corruptive behavior. Great visionaries have time and again stressed on the fact that one of the prime means to bring about peace and end chaos is by giving up corrupt practices. Beside limiting ourselves, we must also see to it that corruption and unjust practices in our vicinity do not go unreported and work with the law enforcement in this regard. Only by establishing a corruption-free society, can we make this world a better place to live in.

Corruption, a term we often come across, implies the employment of malpractices often resulting in benefit or advantage to the party who employs the same. As a nation striving to advance on all fronts, be it social or economic, we must ensure that we abstain from all kinds of corrupt practices. We should also be vigilant about the corruption prevailing in our society and do everything in our power to ensure a just and equal society is being established.

Sadly, in India, corruption has become a part of life. We have to live with it. In every sphere in India, you will come across this unlawful activity. From medical assistance to school admission, from getting a driving licence to receiving benefits of any government scheme, it is omnipresent.

Corruption is influencing our lives directly. The poor are more likely to be hit by corruption because they have no money for bribery leading to inequality in society. On the one hand, where the daily needs of poor people are not being met, on the other hand, rich people are living harmoniously.

To be honest, there is a strong need to eradicate corruption from society & say no to corruption. With continuous effort, we can get rid of this evil.

In small or in big forms, Corruption is prevalent in almost every sector. Corruption is affecting our lives directly. This practice harms the economically weaker sections of society more. This is because they don’t have money for bribery and so they lag in every area.

“ All the power belongs to the amount of money “. This notion leads individuals and organisations to create a pile of money. They go on the illegal track to earn money and evilly use their authority. They don’t even care about which path they are following.

In India, we have to live with it. Almost in every field, you can see this illegal activity. From hospital to school admission, from getting a driving licence to getting benefits of any government scheme, from politics to private organisation. No place and no one is untouched by corruption.

In a country like India, the largest fraction of the population is youth. So, it is obvious youth have to face corruption way more than any other age category. Plus, this is surely only youth can firmly fight against corruption & can fetch positive results.

Now, this is the youth’s responsibility to fight against corruption. To be honest, there is a strong need to eradicate corruption from society & say no to corruption. With continuous effort, we can get rid of this evil. If it happens, drastic changes will occur and corruption will go extinct.

It creates a huge gap and raises risk levels for investors to operate their businesses on our lands. The global corruption perception index has indicated worrisome rankings for the country’s corruption level. Accepting and offering bribes represents is illegal according to our constitution. Entitlements and social spending schemes are the largest fishnets, where corruption is rampantly present.

Good morning to one & all present here. Today I ……… is going to express my views on the topic of corruption. Corruption is defined as some unethical activity or behaviour, which results in some gain. We all are aware of the rate of increase of corruption in our country. India is a beautiful land, but its beauty is getting lost by the corruption that is happening. There is no sector left which has been untouched by corruption.

There are many forms of corruption which we often hear about in the news. It involves two parties, one who pays & one who do the favour. Bribery is one of them in which offering monetary or any other benefits to any official for easy processing of documents, for admission in colleges, schools, for jobs, for ticket in election & many more. Even nowadays, media persons are bribed to broadcast a particular program on their news channel.

Nepotism is a word which we all must have come through, which means favouring relatives over others for a specific position, work etc. The most live example to nepotism is crystal clear in Bollywood where people with connections are given a chance over others. There are also other forms of corruption like patronage, which means favouring supporters, cronyism means favouring friends.

There are adverse effects of corruption on the economy of a country. It often results in loss to the weaker section. It depletes the national wealth, which is for the betterment of the country. Corruption is a significant challenge for democracy as it hinders the implementation of laws & violates them. It also results in depletion or overexploitation of natural resources. Now the question comes how to fight against corruption? Now we should ask ourselves this question of how many times we as citizens have opposed corruption?

The strict enforcement of rules & regulation with punishment to the culprit has become the need of the time. Freedom of press, transparency & access to information will help in curbing corruption. The foremost important step is citizen demand; we all must demand our government for a corruption-free society. We also need to ensure that we all are abiding the rules set by the government. I want to end my speech with a quote by Angel Gurria.

“Integrity, transparency and the fight against corruption have to be part of the culture. They have to be taught as fundamental values.”

Corruption has highly impacted the pride of a nation like India, where democracy is our fundamentals.

It has also depleted our national wealth & natural resources. The government need to focus on strict laws & regulations with proper implementation. Do remember that we all have the power to stop corruption, everything starts from ourselves only. Let us not support the corruption, which is the biggest evil of the society. Let us join hand to eliminate corruption from our society. Let us work on inculcating the same values to children right from childhood for a brighter future of our country.

Social Corruption like the mix-weighing of goods, adulteration of foodstuffs, and different kinds of bribery have predominated in society continuously.

In the current situation, if a person wants a public sector job, he has to pay the higher officials substantial amounts of money regardless of meeting all qualifying criteria. A candidate must either give money to the concerned employee or arrange for specific sources to get his job done in almost all offices. In the civil supplies department, there is the adulteration of food and fake measurement of products by unempathetic employees. They cheat the customers by playing with the health and welfare of their fellow citizens. The officers always exploit people in the property tax evaluation and charge money, even if the house is adequately constructed according to government rules and regulations.

Political Corruption in our country is the worst amongst all. The speech topic for today is corruption and I will address my viewpoint on the same, particularly on political corruption. Ever since the formation of our country, everything is dictated by the political leaders and people ruling in the government sectors. Apparently we are a democratic country, but whosoever comes into the power tries to misuse that power for his/her personal gains, for acquiring wealth and luxury. The common people, as always, find themselves in a state of deprivation.

In our country, the gap between the haves and have-nots is so huge that it becomes a clear example of corruption in our country where one section of society acquires richness and wealth and on the other hand the majority of the masses remain below the poverty line. This is the reason why economy of certain nations is facing a decline, such as the USA economy.

If we are a responsible citizen of our country, we should understand that this corruption is eating into our nation’s economical growth like a termite and is giving rise to crime in our society. If the majority section of our society will continue to live in deprivation and poverty and will not find any employment opportunity, the crime rate will never come down. Poverty will destroy people’s ethics and morals and would result in an increase in hatred amongst the people. It is high time for us to address this issue and fight it in order to pave way for the holistic growth of our country.

The parliament should pass strict laws against the anti-social elements of our society, regardless of the fact that whether such people are within the political system of our country or outside it. There should be an equal treatment for all.

If one were to think and evaluate the causes behind corruption, then it could be countless. However, the most glaring reason responsible for the vicious spread of corruption, I believe, is the people’s non-serious attitude towards the governmental rules and laws and the sheer inertia of government towards those who spread evil in society. It appears that the ones who are employed to put an end to corruption have themselves become complicit in the crime and are encouraging it. Though there are various strict laws like the Prevention of money Laundering Act; Indian Penal Code of 1860 and the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988; to name a few, but there is no serious implementation of these laws.

Yet another important reason behind corruption is the non-transparency of bureaucratic and governmental functions. In particular, the institutions that are run under the government show moral laxity and brush under the carpet serious issues. The money that should be used for the upliftment of poor people is gobbled up by the politicians themselves. Even worse, the people who are not affluent and cannot bribe the people in power are not able to get their work done and hence their files are fated to meet the dust instead of stimulating action. Clearly, any growing economy would come falling down when corrupt officials hold the reign of a country.

The situation has become very tense and unless the general public takes proactive measures and becomes vigilant, the corruption cannot be uprooted from our society. So come let’s join hands and fight against corruption.

Though our great Indian freedom fighters won the freedom struggle ages back, but serious issues such as corruption, unemployment, poverty, etc are still eating into our country’s economy and not enabling it to grow. We need to identify those grey areas which lead to the spread of corruption and adopt strict measures for eradicating those causes. Winning independence from the British rule was one thing, but we will only be able to make this freedom worth their efforts when every citizen of this country will be able to enjoy a basic standard of living and there will be no iniquity in our society.

No doubt, our country is a land of nature and vivid landscape; however the beauty and goodwill of our land has been marred by the ensuing corrupt activities that are going all around. Nearly in every sector, we can see corrupt personnel who do not deliver their roles and responsibilities well unless are bribed by the common people. Such illegal activities are going day by day for a simple reason that we, as the natives of this country, are encouraging these people and no strict actions are being taken against them.

Moreover, such people think that they can easily escape the laws and go unscathed. Excess of power and money have corrupted the officials and the situation has become so worse that if a common man needs any assistance or help from the government staff or administration, then he/she will have to adopt the corrupt method. In fact, you would find corrupt people in the senior administration to the junior staff and even at the clerical positions. It is really difficult for a common man to evade them and get his/her work done.

Not only cities, but even small towns and villages have come under its influence. I think it’s high time, when we as a citizen of our country should owe this responsibility to wipe out corruption from the face of our mother earth and make our country a corrupt free land for our next generation and to feel proud of it.

Clearly, our students are the future of this country, so you should pledge to never adopt any corrupt path under any situation and in fact you will raise your voice against any unlawful or illegal activity that takes place around. People explain corruption as one simple thing statement, ‘I had some urgency and had to get this thing done quickly’. But my dear friends, this simple statement is so damaging that it directly hits on the country’s image and stature in the world.

We as individuals should understand that even though by giving money for getting our work done helps us in quick execution but deep within it is deteriorating the quality of our life. It builds a bad image of the country and leads to lowering of our country’s ratings. It does not seem to be a big deed that we pay an extra amount or what I may say as bribe to some people for taking some advantage from them. This inherited value reduction is not only of the person who is taking the bribe but also of the person who gives it. Corruption is the hurdle between the country’s and individual’s authentic prosperity and development. It affects the growth and development of the nation in all aspects like socially, economically and politically.

Corruption is also the unfair use of public power for some private advantages by breaking all or few of the rules and regulations made by the government. One common form of corruption in our country is receiving black money in cash. Even during elections, it has been observed that we see many news on raid being done here at some minister’s premises and then on the other day so much of cash found in this minister’s wardrobe. Haven’t we?

Yes, we have these all are the forms of corruption. Many political leaders say that we wish to eradicate corruption, but honestly I haven’t seen concrete efforts coming for this cause. For controlling corruption, we have to work on the root cause. My discussion for this evening is on the cancer of ‘Corruption’ that has made our life sick. Corruption is an illegal behavior on the measurement of an authority or influential party throughout by means that are illegal, depraved, or irreconcilable with principled values. Though this word is so simple to define but too hard to take out from any country. Corruption is the biggest act that makes the country’s image weak and negative.

Corruption may include many activities including bribery and embezzlement of funds. Corruption has impacted Indian economy and government so much that there are no easy solutions for eradicating it. If the citizens of a country are corrupted then it eventually adds to the loss of values of a country. We don’t realize that what we do, at the end becomes a part of where we live and around whom we live.

Corrupt people always tend to hide themselves behind the fake face of truth and honesty. Most of the time corruption is referred to the bureaucratic-political-police nexus that eats into the vitals of democracy.

Corruption starts mostly at the higher levels and it carries its way to the extreme low levels too. The heights of corruption has reached to a very great extent where there are no proper laws to bring to justice these corrupt people. Because of the highly corrupt people who just would do anything for money, it has become very difficult for the common man or the righteous to survive.

The level of corruption can be as low as bribing traffic police officer for not wearing a helmet to the extreme level when private contractors bribe government individuals to get the tender of a public work or to get the job done. Today, corruption is one of the greatest factors hindering development and stifling the realization of democracy. Corruption affects the growth of a nation adversely.

We all should understand that corruption is acting as an obstacle in the way of the country’s progress. Each one of us should be cautious of the acts that we perform. We take it lightly to give Rs 100-200 to the Travelling  Ticket Inspector (TTI) just for our preferable seat allocation, but deep down that person has made it a habit to procure money from everybody.

India is known for its wonderful culture and traditions. This is an impeccable beauty. But nowadays, it's losing pollution, corruption and all the things we do ...

Do we humans do such good things for our nation? Corruption everywhere everywhere in the country We feel that we have already achieved independence. But I will not say! We still get freedom, we are living in a corrupt country! Is this what you call independence? We should first prepare our country for the eradication of the corrupt breed of those who are ready to sell our country for personal gain. I would say that we have never been completely destroyed by outsiders, but we are completely devastated in the inside. Power is not corrupt, but it corrupts those people who are corrupt to start!

Because money and muscle today play a very important role, which is reflected in less punishment rate. Nowadays most politicians think they can do anything with money. But do you think that all his money is the same which he has done many good things? No, not at all ! Most of the money in this will be of illegal business. If we pay our taxes, then we do not have to worry about this sudden condemnation act. It is a shock to those who have millions of black money, who do not even pay their taxes. This is the reason that the cases of corruption should be tried on a daily basis. So friends, let us join hands to make our country free from corruption.

Bureaucrats and politicians in every area are affected by power and money in such a way that talented and most skilled people in the respective areas will not even be alive or recruited for that matter.

Therefore, in these places, work efficiency also gets corrupted and changes in power according to the interests of the people.

Corruption starts at higher levels and it moves its level to the lowest level. From senior officials to junior officers to clerks, corrupt people will meet and the common man will be able to circumvent his talk and make it difficult.

Now it happens not only in refined cities but all over India. The villages and cities are all part of these games and it is a common man who is affected by these dirty games.

The height of corruption has increased a lot, where there is no proper law to end these corrupt people. Due to the highly corrupt people who will do anything for money only, living for the common man or the religious people has become very difficult. They were given and so were taken for the ride.

It should be an end and we need to reach such a situation, where every Indian should feel and say that he is living in a corrupt free country and proud of it.

Ladies and Gentlemen a very good evening to everyone!

Before I begin my speech on 'Corruption Free India', please allow me to welcome all of you to our seminar hall. I wish to congratulate everyone for the successful completion of my previous meetings, where we are not only engaged in serious discussions, but also our NGO Committee has decided on some measures and to work towards the betterment of our society Actually tried really well. Honestly, I am not ashamed to accept that when we talk about our country of India and the kind of serious issues we are facing, then no one can fail to mention corruption. That is clearly rife here. As a citizen of our country, our life certainly can not remain untouched by this issue. I am sure that all of you will agree with the fact that wherever we go, especially in any public sector, whether it is an educational institution or an administrative department, corruption is always as follows. No query or problem will be solved without loading a pocket of a public official. In fact, the hypocrisy or double standards of our government officials have been exposed from time to time by various journalists.

Apart from this, if you specifically contact for admission in any educational institution, private institutions, it will not be possible unless you give a bribe to the head of the department with a high amount. It is very unfortunate that it is only middle-class or poor class which suffers from flaws and instead of raising the stairs of the society, they become victims of social diseases and this is a prosperous class which becomes dissatisfied. This is mainly because it is impossible to overcome the gap between the rich and the poor and the rich continue to be rich and the poor continue to be poor. This is a tragic reality of our nation, despite many initiatives being taken by the government as well as non-governmental organizations, it becomes difficult with time to overcome social evils from our homeland.

However, saying that we can not leave our dream of a corruption free India and that's why we should make tireless efforts to make our country a better place to live. The main basis for dealing with all the social evils of India is on our shoulders. Young people who are our nation's torch. If our youths will be taught good rituals and the overall development of their personality will be encouraged, then surely we can take the development of our nation up to a great number of places. Second, it is very important to increase the status of marginalized sections of our society and to give them equal opportunities for education as well as to develop opportunities in the form of job opportunities. I am not here to give you a deep, dark picture of our motherland, but we can not blindly look towards the social evils of our society, in which corruption is an essential part. We are culturally and historically rich as a nation and see great artifacts and monuments for the world with amazement and wonder. But of course, we can not fail to mourn in the tragic political and economic condition of our country, where corruption has adversely affected our economy and therefore our local, state and the credibility of the central government organizations But there is also the effect. Clearly, corruption has not only prevented our country's economy from achieving new heights, but its broadness has influenced India's development policies and measures.

Do we also feel that how and in what way does corruption create an introspection in our lives, where we finally become the basis of either a victim or corrupt activities? The main reasons for corruption in India are illegal rules, transparency process and delivery of government delivery agencies along with various public departments working with law, complex tax and licensing system, opaque discretionary and bureaucratic powers. goods and services. In fact, in our day-to-day life, we come in many aspects of corruption. For example, if we want to enter a good school or a well-known institution, then it can not happen unless we give bribe to administrative officials or working staff. However, to overcome this situation many anti-corruption activities are being done by the government, such as the Right to Information Act; Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002; Prosecution section of the Income Tax Act, 1961; Indian Penal Code, 1860, etc. It depends on government officials and people of our country, how they work on these preventive measures, and immediately report to the police or the relevant authorities of any illegal activity, which is our nose Is below. .

There is no second thought on this fact that if we can work to uproot corruption from our land as a nation or even reduce the level of rich economies like Britain or For that matter, Singapore will not be far behind when we can increase India's GDP growth at a fast pace, as never before.

India is undoubtedly one of the attractive places on earth, whose natural and cultural wealth is a big attraction for many people. However, the greatness and goodwill of our nation are damaged by corrupt activities, which are without any obstacles. In almost every work division, we come due to the corrupt activities that hold a broad hold on the lives of people, because it makes them insensitive to the tragic plight of other people in no time.

Corruption starts at the top level and goes up to the bottom. From senior officials to junior level executives and even to clerks, a whole series of corrupt people develop, and it is difficult for a common man to circumvent it and to express his concern for immediate action. . For our downfall, the situation has increased to an extent, where there is no serious law to investigate ethically distorted people. The power of the common people is being constantly exploited by such people because they do not have enough resources to fight corruption and therefore their existence has become very miserable.

Saying that, I still believe that all this can be curbed and can be terminated, if only and only when every Indian citizen does not wish to run away from his conscience and build a corruption-free India. Ethical value for which India was known by the ages.

If we believe in ourselves and work with our full force in achieving that goal, then nothing is impossible - whether it is our personal purpose or a peaceful place to live and be happy in India .

It includes extortion, nepotism, parochialism, bribery, patronage, cronyism, etc. Corruption may lead to human and drug trafficking, money laundering, police brutality, repression of opponents, etc.

Forms of Corruption

A Bribe involves a payment made to any official for the exchange of use of his official powers. It involves two parties: the one who pays for any favor and the one who accepts the payment for official powers.

Influence peddling or trading in influence involves three parties to act. It means a person or organization selling their influence over the decision-making process so that a third party profits from it.

Favoring supporters (Patronage), favoring relatives (Nepotism) and favoring friends (Cronyism) of an official for private gain are forms of corruption. In these many incompetent people are leaders in the system over the able ones.

Political effect: Corruption becomes a major roadblock for the rule of law and democracy. The political system loose its legitimacy when power is used for private advantage.

Economical effect: It depletes national wealth. The betterment of the communities and societies are compromised for the benefit of the profit of some officials, therefore, leads to the misuse of national resources.

Social effect: The community or society gives up trust in the system. This makes it even more challenging to remove corruption from the system.

There are five ways of fighting corruption.

Steps focussing on improving financial management and strengthening the role of auditing agencies will help in curbing corruption. This will include transparent and participatory budgeting by local communities and local governments.

The tradition of government openness, freedom of the press, transparency, and access to information help in curbing corruption.

Strengthening citizens’ demand and empowering them to make government accountable is a great approach to build mutual trust between the government and the citizens.

The international financial system should be under the scanner to stop money laundering by corrupt officials. Hence, major financial institutes need to put a check to stop their banks and allied financial centers across the globe from accepting illegal flows of money.

To sum it up, Corruption is the biggest evil of any society. All necessary steps must be taken to eliminate this evil. Not only the ones with power but at times even the weaker section of the society tend to become a culprit in this.

I hope that from now on every individual will strictly oppose and prevent corrupt activities from occurring anywhere around us. Thus, this will ensure the complete socio-economic and political development of our society and country at large.
