Indian Institute of Information Technology Senapati, Manipur (IIITM) is an institution under the Ministry of Education, Govt. of India. The institute was established in 2015 in order to develop Manipur as a preferred destination for Information Technology (IT) related manpower and industry. This shall enable Manipur to gear up for providing IT-related services as well as high-quality Research & Development in IT. The institute offers B.Tech programme in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) and Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) and PhD in CSE, ECE and Humanities and Basic Sciences from the city campus located in a prime area at Mantripukhri, Imphal, adjacent to New Secretariat and just opposite to Manipur Information Tech Park and Software Technology Park of India.

Admission to PhD Programme 2022-23

Applications are invited for admission to PhD Programme (Part-time/Full-time) for the July-November 2022 session, Academic Year 2022-23. Details of the area of specialization, education qualifications are given below:

Eligibility criteria for admission into phd programme.

• Engineering (ECE & CSE Discipline): Master’s degree in Engineering/Technology in the relevant area with a minimum CGPA/CPI of 7.0 or 70% of marks both in the Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees (In case of SC/ST/Differently abled candidates CGPA/CPI 6.0 or 60% of marks) with GATE/NET qualified. OR Four-year Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology or equivalent in a relevant area with a minimum CGPA/CPI of 7.5 or 70% of marks and should have also qualified the GATE/NET Examination.
• Mathematics : Master’s degree in Mathematics/ Statistics with a minimum CGPA/CPI of 6.5 or 60% of marks with GATE/NET/SLET qualified. OR 4 years Bachelor's degree from any Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Mathematics with a minimum CGPA/CPI of 7.0 and should have also qualified the GATE/NET Examination.
• Linguistics : Master’s degree in English/ Linguistics with a minimum CGPA/CPI of 6.5 or 60% of marks with NET/SLET qualified.

The main objective of a PhD program is to not only contribute to the domain but also enable the researcher to develop the competency of conducting research individually or in a group later on. MAHE Manipal encourages research in interdisciplinary areas and the academic program leading to the PhD degree involves course credit requirement and timely research progress presentations, ultimately leading to thesis submission on satisfactory fulfillment of submission requirements. All institutes / departments under MAHE Manipal are well equipped with research facilities.

All candidates MUST have obtained a qualifying degree in full-time mode and

a candidate seeking admission to the PhD program MUST fulfill  the following eligibility criteria

• Candidates with Master’s degrees or equivalent from foreign universities will have to produce a certificate or recognition / equivalency by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) / Commonwealth Universities / International Association of Universities (IAU), as equivalent to the corresponding Indian degrees for the purpose of higher studies.
